A tragic, disappointing thing
A kick right in my gut
Is when I roll through Goulburn
And I find that Grit is shut
For Grit is good. Let that be said
One of those roadside crackers
It is the only reason
I would park at Goulburn Maccas
My iced long black was crafted well
I chose the sweet corn fritter
My caramel slice was slightly small
But did not leave me bitter
I'll go to Trapper's Bakery
Should fate see fit to frown
But best in Goulburn, cross my heart
Is Grit Cafe - hands down

Great Cafe! Superb food, great so see many tasty healthy options! And so reasonably priced. Great coffee really well made. It was a busy Saturday morning and the place was packed, but the staff were focused, prompt & efficient, so we had our meals surprisingly quick.

This place is amazing!

The food was not only delicious, but really good value for money. The menu varies enough to be interesting, but is small enough for them to do everything well.

Coffee, after an initial hit of flavour that is slightly bitter, was absolutely delicious (so bear with it). Perfectly made with good latte art, I would have had another if it wasn't for the queue.

Which brings me onto the only negative: it's popularity! Expect to queue for a table, and in our case there was a 30 minute wait on food. But trust me, it's worth it! Places like this are busy for a reason: they're really, really good!

Highchairs are available, though there isn't a huge amount of room inside to use them. Staff friendly, and loads of parking available in the Maccas next door.

Honestly, if it wasn't 2 hours away we'd be back every week. Go here!

Just off the freeway easy for a break stop and back on the road ..closes at 3:00pm, so plan your travel for a fantastic meal and coffee stop.

My wife and I visited Grit on a recent trip to Goulburn and it was great.

I had the classic b+e roll. Top quality. Everything was really good. It’s not quite taken my top spot, but it’s very good.

My wife had the pancakes and said they were also great!

Service was friendly and food came out at a reasonable time.

They also have some fairly decent pastries and muffins on offer.

I’d visit again if I was in the area. Highly recommend Grit.

Nice coffee.. my coffee is small size long black with 3 shots.. it is very strong and that kept me going to driving more faraway and return back to Sydney.. coffee beans taste was really nice.

Using real flowers are good design for interior and how they setting up tables and atmosphere were amazing..

Food taste were great and as you can see on the pics..

I'll definitely come back to have breakfast or lunch also 100% recommends.. I'm grad that I didn't chose another restaurants around area😉

Hands down best coffee on the highway!!! We love coming here on our travels over other venues in the same block. Delicious corn fritters and peri peri chicken burger. Cosy seating inside and plenty of customer parking out the back. Highly recommend!

Thought we’d come here instead of the usual takeaway on our way through from Sydney and the food and coffee was so good. Good variety of food and baked goods too 👌🏼

The food tasted great and the service was quick. I did not dine in and there is limited space to dine if a big number of people come.

Had the bacon & egg roll, was one of the better bacon & egg roll’s I’ve ever had. Good friendly service. And a nice clean and pleasant place to eat at.

The food here was great and it is very easy to get to, being the first right in town after coming off the motorway from Canberra. Parking is also easy as one may use the car park behind the shop and come in the back entrance.

Finding a seat can be a problem, as the place is packed even if one is late for lunch, the locals have obviously found out about it!

Such a nice little cafe, really good food . I had mint tea and chocolate ball. Tea was served in a cute pot and cup.

Good music, nice and friendly people, good quality food. Love it!

Absolutely love stopping here on our drive north. The egg & bacon rolls (with the spinach leaves and sweet spicy relish) are the BEST!! And they are always able to make a special egg & cheese & Vegemite roll for my husband - which he loves 😋

Starred this one for next time I’m in town. Calm and relaxing cafe experience. Everything was really clean and well presented. Loved the artistic menu on the wall. Our table enjoyed a green smoothie, long black, cappuccino, big brekky and a “grilled peach, feta, prosciutto on sourdough” special. Thanks for a nice brekky, Grit Cafe!

Lovely staff, even though we were there during the busy lunch period nothing was a hassle for them. Both coffee and turmeric latte were great. Food was very delicious and was reasonably priced 😋 would definitely come again! Thank you

Long black at the grit cafe quick and good

We stopped off here on our way to Canberra, the ladies are really friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. You can get a proper coffee too and breakfast. For our lunch we grabbed a tasty Ruben with zingy little pickle, a home made pumpkin soup YUMMY and split a delicious cauliflower and kale salad which was scrumptious. Food leaves MacDonalds for dead and we reckon would cost the same price for two, but it’s just so much better for you to eat here. Till next time! Look for the Big Merino and these guys are lat on the right before Macca’s.
