Railway Barracks

This place is MAGICAL!!! Beautiful setting, comfortable & creative layout (with style!), and a wonderful space to hold various types of events & activities! We ran a Mindfulness camp there and the vibe was EXCELLENT in bringing people together. Grateful for Mark & his team for being super-amazing kind & caring hosts!!! ❤🙏Absolutely recommend this place!!!

I highly recommend booking Railway Barracks. We had wonderful weekend away with lots of friends and family. This was the perfect venue for our big group as we had quite a few adults and kids (about 50 people including small kids). It is a beautiful, unique, fun, well kept, comfortable venue that has something for everyone. There is a lovely communal room with a huge projector, perfect for a movie night with the kids or a bit of a dance-off and plenty of tables to set up games and craft. The dining room has a lovely Italian vibe with checkered red and white tablecloths and is surrounded by vintage pieces that invite you to think of times gone by.
The bedrooms have a combination of double beds and super sturdy, comfortable wooden bunk beds. My 4-year-old daughter absolutely loved sleeping in the top bunk. It was like a tree house inside! As you move outside you are transported to a Parisienne style café vibe with a vintage sleeper train in view. It’s like being on a film set but everything is functional. Clearly the train has been brought back to life with meticulous love and care. The sleeper train has little beds with tiny teddy bears welcoming you. And you can discover an amazing use of space by opening little compartments to discover a little surprise like a tiny sink. So cute!
The fire pit outside is a crowd favorite and the Begola beckons you to sit down and relax. Loads of space inside and out, it’s super versatile and we can’t wait to go back! There’s a lovely, well stocked kitchen and generous BBQ outside so self-catering is easy. There are also beautiful horses who seem rather friendly next door and the Train Museum across the road was a winner for the little kids (and big kids aka Adults). We really loved it. A brilliant place to create special memories with family and friends. Thanks for having us! : )

The Railway Barracks is such a beautiful venue. We had our wedding there (ceremony and reception) at the end of November. None of our guests (or ourselves) are from Goulburn so quite a few people wondered why we had the wedding in Goulburn, but as soon as they arrived we had multiple people tell us the place was amazing and that they could see why we chose to have the wedding there. We had about 30 guests stay at the venue and this was great because the party can go as late for each person as they like. Zia and Mark were easy to chat with and ask any questions. There are plenty of picturesque spots for photos and there's a particularly great spot on the deck once the sun has gone down. A beautiful wedding, and everything was just easy. A great location and well equipped facility for groups and extended family gatherings. The detailed restoration of the building and the adjacent railway carriage ensures a great feel for the facility. There is plenty of indoor space, including the period dining room and the outside deck allows for informal gatherings and a good sized BBQ. The fire pit was a delightful extra for the clear night sharing around the fire.

Had my daughters 40th here last night amazing place great ambiance, great area undercover, fire pit projection screen .. kitchen lighting .. and all just two hours from Sydney. I can’t rave enough! we had the party then tucked the kids safely into warm beds at the venue stayed over night and had a bar b q breakfast the next day.. a perfect venue 🤣 10/10 we will be back. Even has a wedding gazebo 👍

Fantastic stay! Love how the place has been restored, retaining important heritage elements while making updates to keep it fresh and modern. A fantastic amalgam of early twentieth century meets 2017!

Love the ballroom. Would be a great place for weddings or corporate events.

Amazing place. We stayed for 4days n 3nights as a big group and we friends n family had one of our best stay. Enjoyed each n every bit. Huge space, beautiful outdoor, bbq, big kitchen with all needed aminities for any kind of cooking, beautiful n big dinning area and above all a big hall with great night lights, projector and speaker systems. Adults n kids equally enjoyed.
And Mark is very friendly and a great host. Love the way he maintain the place. Thanks Mark n Zia.

The venue has 15 rooms and can sleep up to 44 people. It had a lovely train oriented deco theme and has a great vibe for events. If you like dancing a large wooden space suitable for around 50 people is available. Air conditioning or heating is equipped. A real 1959 Southern Aurora rail sleeper carriage is also on site and will be ready for use in Q1 2019. The owner, Mark is very friendly and will take good care of you. We had a salsa dance event and it is a cool place to have a party. A kitchen is available and catering can be arranged as a chef is available.

Amazing! Loved my visit here. Great space to use for events/retreats. The owner and host was exceptional. Went above and beyond to ensure guest were comfortable and happy. Highly recommend 😊

Had a relaxing timeout with a group of friends at Railway Barracks. If you are looking to unwind, look no further. This place is available for your exclusive use and comes with a dance floor, equipped with hi-fi sonos speakers and mood/ambient lighting for that awesome dance party. A fire pit with a barbeque and the outdoor gazebo is perfect for that long night chit chat with friends.

Really nice place and very homely. Perfect for a group of people 30 plus, has a perfect kitchen lounge great out door area. It's so amazing and has lots of history. I respect that place and would definitely visit it again. Loved it sooo much wooo.

Have been staying here for weekend dance retreats for a couple of years now and it's a beautiful space that feels like home for our group.

Amazing place for a getaway. If you are looking for a chilled weekend away from Sydney thinking only about relaxing or organising a group party at the barracks. Good place for such a thing.
