We didn't expect to buy the first house we saw with Jamie, but that's what happened. We engaged Jamie to secure us a home after many months of searching, inspecting and unsuccessfully bidding on several houses in an exceptionally tight market. One of our major reasons to engage Jamie was to seek off market opportunities, but we actually ended up buying a property that was quietly on the market.

When we called Jamie and Phoebe to ask about the property, they were already on the case and had set up an inspection for us. At our inspection, we were already familiar with the location and within minutes we were besotted with the property. We left the house so quickly that both selling agent and Jamie thought we didn't like it!

We then asked Jamie to secure it. He took over all engagement with the selling agent, and negotiated over a number of days to secure a good price for us. When the selling agent did not have a contract ready for us to submit an offer Jamie was able to write one and keep things moving.

Jamie and Phoebe then worked with us through every step to closing and through the finer details of pool compliance etc. When we experienced issues with our conveyancer Jamie was also able to quickly refer us to an excellent conveyancer he knew.

We did have some initial reservations about the additional expense of a buyers agent, but in the end Jamie comfortably paid for himself through shepherding the negotiations, handling the selling agent and acting as a buffer to any emotional impulses we had. Jamie took a carefully considered approach to valuing the property and steadfastly completed negotiations in our favour.

Jamie, Phoebe and colleagues are in the market every day. They have the relationships with agents/sellers locally, and they are skilled and practised property sourcers and negotiators. We felt on the back foot when we were negotiating as amateurs against some of the really strong local selling agents. Buying a home is a major transaction that we undertake hopefully a small number of times in our lives. It's a major source of comfort to have a strong professional who is advocating for your interests and not the sellers.
