The Normanby Hotel

I’ve always wanted to come visit this place since I moved in near this area a month ago, and finally could visit this bar on my own before leaving Brisbane…. Not only its outlook but also interior decor are always stand out and attracts everyone passing by both Day time and Night time. The odd thing is that not at all crowded during weekdays…. Really loved this architecture has its 100+ years history. Glad to meet this one of the most beautiful hotels in Brisbane!

Great food, great atmosphere, lots of choices for seating, awesome pokies room, very personable and welcoming staff and owners. Fantastic spot to watch sports on the big screen in the beer garden setting - where trivia is held and live entertainment.

The Normanby Hotel is a fantastic place to gather with friends from across Brisbane. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with exceptional service that made me feel welcomed and valued. The staff were attentive, responding promptly to every request with a smile. The food was delightful, with a variety of dishes that were both comforting and innovative. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, providing a tidy and hygienic environment. Moreover, the atmosphere of the hotel was vibrant and inviting, making it a perfect backdrop for both relaxation and socializing. The Normanby Hotel is the place to be for an outstanding experience.

Fantastic food, great service (staff were attentive and our meals came out quickly) and to top it off the decor in the dog themed restaurant area was delightful. So very much worth a visit if you’re a dog lover! My steak was cooked to perfection and the salad and pizza were delicious.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The chefs helped me choose my meal, and they did well. I loved my meal.

Love coming here for the food, the service and the atmosphere. Will be back for sure.

We had our lunch there for Melbourne Cup and the food was amazing! The atmosphere and the venue was great! It was my first time to be there. Will definitely go back given the opportunity!

Had a table booked for 16 for what turned out to be a Suncorp night (we were going to the theatre). I was amazed at how quick the meals came out given how busy they were on the night. Food was superb and very reasonably priced. Will definitely find a reason to return :)

Thursday Steak Special! While the steak is the special, the highlight was the oyster kilpatrick ! Wow! Wow! Wow! I’ve been to lots of seafood restaurants around the world. One of my favourite is oyster kilpatrick and the sauces in this dish is next level.

Everything was Amazing!! Highly Recommend!! The Food was delicious, all the staff were fantastic and made us feel so welcomed and we can’t wait to come back. The customer service was beyond exceptional, with real menus and even took our drink order’s for the night and to top it off they accepted Cash. Perfect, Thank you

Swung in for a quick solo lunch on 28th Oct. What a beautiful building. The young lady who greeted me for my steak sandwich order was absolutely brilliant. She was professional, friendly and obviously enjoyed working there. Went an ordered the big guy ginger beer from the downstairs bar at the barman who was taller than his hair suggested and was very happy with his suggestion as well as his service skills. After these 3 great experiences I was sure I would have to take a hit and get a cruddy meal. You guys proved me wrong 110% as I just finished what was easily the best steak Sandwich and chips in my 52yrs on the planet. Please thank the kitchen and produce suppliers as well.Thinking of moving down from the Sunny Coast so you can be my new local. Great atmosphere, amazing food and fantastic staff. Thank you very much.

We had a great steak in the beer garden while watching the Rugby League game. At the bar we were able to taste the different beers and drinks on tap prior to purchase. A lovely evening out in a beautifully restored Brisbane historic pub.

A great place to chill out after work. Food was great, especially the Thursday steak deal, the service is actually amazing, waiters and waitresses actually smile at you! The music volume is perfect, you know you hate it when they turn it up so high that you have to yell across the table just so people can hear you, not here. I think the owner greeted us on our way out, I will shake your hand next time!

We came here for dinner for my daughter's 13th birthday. It was the first time coming to the Normanby for all of us and we had the best time! I booked online and chose 'indoor dining' not knowing what the layout of the Normanby was. We greeted by our hostess upon arriving and seated in a booth. The decor was very cool, the seats comfortable and a lovely space to have dinner. We ordered a serving of the garlic bread plain and garlic bread with bacon and cheese, both delicious and good serving size. We also ordered natural oysters and kilpatrick to share and the oysters were fresh and kilpatrick delicious, made just as you expect. All mains were generous size, we ordered the salmon, rump, ceaser salad and the parmi was massive. Chips were crunchy and well salted. The drinks were well made but more options for cocktails would be appreciated, a really extensive wine list. I secretly asked the hostess if it was possible to order a dessert with a candle on it for my daughter's birthday and my request was generously accommodated. My daughter was totally surprised and we all sang 'Happy Birthday' to her. Overall the staff were attentive, accomodating and polite and even offered to take photos of us when they noticed we were taking photos at our table.
I am extremely impressed with the service of our hostess and servers, the food and the atmosphere. In a time where going out to dinner is definitely a luxury, you will not be disappointed in choosing The Normanby. Thank you to all the staff for making it an enjoyable and memorable evening.

Our Beaucare group had lunch here on a group excursion, and we all loved the food. A little slow to get to us, but it was a big group, and all dishes came in quick succession once they stated and were super delicious. The staff were wonderful and attentive. Cocktails were tasty, too. The only suggestion would be some more gluten-free options for us Celiacs would be nice.

Since Simon and team took over at the Normanby the experience has been excellent. Venue facelift and I. Collate presentation, excellent capable staff and really first class food. Amazing these days (we went back two nights in a row)

Your restaurant area has a lovely warm inviting atmosphere. All the staff are very friendly & welcoming. We really enjoyed our meals & will be back again soon.

My function on THURSDAY 16 MAY 2024 was absolutely gorgeous. What a LOVELY PLACE to have any functions. One staff member stood out : FLYNN. He is a star, helpful, friendly, kind, professional, an absolute ASSET to the company. Please thank MISTER FLYNN on my behalf.

Classic old style, but updated inner city pub. Indoor rooms and outdoor terrace siting areas. Good service, and good pub style food. Surrounded by busy roads but there is off street parking. For those not driving the busway is right next door.

What a great place.

Such a pretty entrance, great bar area. The inside dining is so cool either exposes brickwork and art.

We had the best service from Melanie she was brilliant remembered all our orders snd provided flawless service.

The food was excellent.

We will be back.
