As soon as you enter the restaurant, you are welcomed by such beautiful and quite sophisticated design. Every single detail here makes the experience very memorable. The food we ordered was incredibly fresh and delicious! The customer service was also very good.

Just had lunch here, and it's a flavour haven in a beautifully decorated spot! They sat us in the booth by the large open windows - it wasn’t busy and service was nice and quick. The roast duck red curry was tender, with just enough curry to cover my steamed rice. Curry puffs were flaky perfection, and the crispy fish in 3-flavor sauce nailed the sweet, sour, spicy balance - generous portions! I also had the Thai milk tea which you can’t go wrong with. Overall, left feeling full and highly recommend it! 👌🍛✨ The dessert options look so good too, especially the fried ice cream so I’ll definitely be back!!

Amazing delicious food and excellent customer service. Shout out to Tony who is so friendly and funny!
Ordered chicken wings, pork belly, pad see ew and massaman beef curry. Couldn't fault any dish.
Was impressed the staff took into account that one of us doesn't like spice. So half of the pork belly had chilli and other half didn't. The attention to detail and listening to customers is so appreciated. Although some of the prices are overpriced it is worth it and large servings. Food was filling we had no room for the fried ice cream. So will definitely be back😊 highly highly recommend👌

One of the best Thai/Lao restaurants in Sydney. This restaurant has beautiful Thai decorations and delicious food. The Papaya Salad with Salted Crabs was right on point. The shredded papaya was fresh and crunchy. I especially liked the Salt n Pepper Fried Squid. It was perfect with a bottle of Asahi. We also had the Lao Sausage, Fish Cakes, Seafood Tom-yum, and Chicken Fried Rice. All dishes were excellent. Highly recommended!!!

Another awesome experience, my wife and I treated my Brother and his wife at the Parramatta Restaurant and loved it. So I took my wife and her family out to the Canley Heights Restaurant and boy they did not miss. Loved the atmosphere and warm environment, our server was experienced, very friendly and made the whole family welcomed and comfortable. We all had great meals from Pork Belly, Pad See We, Lamb Cutlets, Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Wings, Thai Beef and so on...... what a night. Then we were served with deep fried ice cream, Sticky Coconut Rice with Mango and a special rendition of "Happy Birthday" for my Queen in falsetto.... Great food and company! Thanks Team, we loved it.

The shop is always busy so they must be doing something right ☺ so great to see how far this place has come. The food quality hasn’t changed over the years and has stayed just as good. Great spot for Thai food with more of a modern twist. Portions are great for sharing. Get in early if you want to secure your spot!

Their fried ice cream is also one of a kind. Make sure you leave room for dessert!

I've been to Holy Basil several times, but it was my first visit to the Canley Heights Restaurant. We only went for dessert but specifically the fried ice cream. This is a signature dish, and although it is almost $20, it was a great dessert. Instead of fried in a ball of batter, this is fried in filo pastry for about a minute and is shaped in a triangular wedge. I strongly recommend it. In general, though, they have a very good menu and a number of really good signature dishes. It's pricey but really good. I went back again after lunch service had ended for fried ice cream and got takeaway.

Tasty food and really great decor, felt like we were actually in Thailand 😄
Had the Laos sausage, ox tongue, roast duck curry, pork belly stir-fry and cashew stir-fry. All were really good but definitely recommend the curry and pork belly - the sauce is great with rice.
So if you want great food with a great atmosphere, I can't recommend this place enough

Loved their food so much. We went to visit Sydney and because of our friends recommended this restaurant so much, we went their to try their food. Little pricy and crowdy but it’s worth spending every single penny their. Loved all their foods and now when ever we visit Sydney, we make sure we have their name in our holiday itinerary. Highly recommend 👍🏼

This visit, the fried fish with mango and apple salad was huge. The price has gone up from $45 to $60 from a few years ago, but the portion today was worth it. This dish alone with a serving of sticky rice was enough for the 3 of us.

Warm sticky rice and mango was enough for 4 people after a full meal.

Edited: I re-visit and ordered more dishes 🥰, updated new photo.
Holy Basil is the Thai restaurant that I have been visited again and again especially when they still opened in the city. I decided to try their branch in Canley Height recently and my orders are:
Fried Calamari salted and pepper🍤
Crab fried rice 🦀🍚
Ox tongue
Red curry with duck 🍛
Fried icecream 🍨
And a noodle dish, I forgot the name 😅
If you love spicy food, they will not disappointed you 😂 the noodle dish was spicy 👌 the taste was good
I love their Ox Tongue, they always cut it thin so it's a lot easier to chew 😍 I can not handle spicy food but their sauce in this dish was too good 😆
Crad fried rice and red curry can eat together. If you can not handle spicy food, don't worry this curry won't be spicy. It has lychee and tomato in it so the taste is a bit sweet and sour, not too mild. I love this curry so much and of course, their duck was good, so soft 🥰
I am just a bit sad that the proportion doesn't look as big as before 🥲
I saw the waiter tried to clean the table carefully and I can tell my table was clean 👌👌👌

Great place for Thai/Laos food!

Favourite dish is ox tongue as many places that serve this do not cook it well. It can be rubbery and chewy if cooked too long however, you shouldn’t have that problem here. Even the fruit shakes are great; I’ve tried almost all of them so you can’t go wrong with any of the fruit shakes (I’m not sure about strawberry though)

To be honest, from the fried rice to the curries, fried foods or even the noodles, you’re most likely getting a Thai-riffic experience. Pick and discover the dishes that you like! Have a scroll through my photos and notice vast amount of fresh herbs and greens used in each delightful dish. ⁣☘

Fantastic food! One of the best Thai food i ever had.. great service, flashy interior, good crowd. Really tasty food. $30 per head is good enough to smash yourself which is very reasonable. Deserts to die for..

Parking is tight around the area so plan ahead. Met thr owner aswell, which is a good sign of things being on point.

Must try.
