Umaya Japanese Restaurant

Food was amazing, I had the shiitake mushroom sushi and my partner had ramen he said it was soo good and just melted in his mouth. The sushi was amazing and the ginger it came with was 10/10. Good Japanese beer on tap and refreshing mango ice tea I think it was homemade! Definitely will come back 😃

I've eaten here twice now and have both times found the food to be extremely tasty and reasonably priced. The sashimi was a standout by far, as where the rolls which were bigger than we expected and absolutely delicious. Because of the location, it can often get cold during winter so be prepared to rug up and order yourself a big bowl of miso soup. In face, next time I'll be trying their ramen. Really happy to call this place my local.

Came on a Wednesday night. Had Ramen. Generous. Lovely. There is a carpark here too and not far from Kirrawee station.

Reccomended! Oishii! I'm a bit shocked to read all of the bad reviews because I have been here several times and it has always been DELICIOUS with authentic Japanese food and flavours. Recommend trying the Japanese Curry and the Katsu Don. Go into the restaurant and give it a try, beware that it can be cold so wear warm clothes as it's partially outdoors in that shopping centre at Kirawee.

Amazing sushi and sashimi, in a central location. Great for kids, with an indoor park nearby and toilets. Only negatives would be the noise at peak times, but that's not the restaurant and more the location.

Would highly recommend and is one of the best Japanese places I've been to in Sydney. The sushi is so delicious and fresh. Would definitely recommend the Spider Roll, but expect a bit of a wait since there's a few things in it. The menu is quite large and has a lot of variety ranging from sushi, udon, donburi and curries, so there's a lot to choose from. The platters are great to share with someone and everything is reasonably priced. The service is great and there's a takeaway store around the corner if you're in a hurry.

The true test of a business is customer service when things don’t necessarily go to plan, and in this regard, Umaya deserves top marks.

I had a minor issue with charging the bill and was able to reach the owner to discuss, who was completely understanding, explained what had happened and offered a solution for a great outcome. He even personally made our next booking. So many owners would have just dismissed my concern which would have resulted in a lost customer, but in this case because of the way it was handled we will keeping coming back, tell everyone and I felt compelled to come and write a 5 star review.

In addition, the food is excellent (which is why we come here regularly) and there is a play area for kids right where we can sit on a sort of indoor/outdoor arrangement, so we are able to eat dinner while the kids play making it a great family restaurant. What was an excellent restaurant became even better with the way the owner handled things with my recent experience so I would definitely recommend to anyone. Well done Umaya.

We went on a Friday night and it was relatively busy so I'm glad we booked. The food was delicious and service was very friendly. The menu has a lot of variety and portion sizes are great. The crispy chicken roll was my favourite and the sashimi was really fresh and tasty. Thank you! I'm looking forward to coming back.

I had a delicious pork ramen last night. The pork melted in my mouth and the broth was spicy and and comforting, perfect for a rainy winter night.
The staff were lovely and the service was quick, definitely recommend.

Very clever use of the space given. The wood looks glowing at night from the light of the kitchen. They even have a tap for beer😆. The service was top quality. I only had to wait 10 min for the sushi to start arriving. The food was excellent, tender, and juicy. But don’t expect food too fast. The restaurant is still new.

Always excellent. The udon stir fried dishes are the best you'll find. Attentive staff and friendly, efficient service.

Best sushi I've ever tried in the Shire. Authentic Japanese home cook meal. I recommend the crispy chicken roll and volcano roll. Not a fine dining restaurant but food is good and priced very reasonably. Come to enjoy a casual dining experience.

Have ordered takeaway from here a few times now. They are always quick, the food is fresh and delicious. I always get Pork Gyoza and sashimi and it is always to die for. Pork Gyoza has excellent flavor and the sashimi just melts in your mouth.

The chicken fried rice is very NICE!!!
