Australia Post - Randwick Post Shop

A mostly well-serviced post office though the dedicated parcel pickup area seems under-utilised. Can get busy late in the day. The 'as seen on TV' products are more of a money wasting distraction.

What can I say, it's a post office. We didn't have to wait long in queue, as I would expect from the average Australia Post, maybe because this store is located on the quieter end of Royal Randwick shopping centre near the gym. Staff were friendly enough.

First time visitor and I was very impressed with the service. I was served by a lady with pink rimmed glasses who was friendly and helpful to everyone there despite being quite busy. Definitely will be using this post office branch from now on!

I found the staff to be very patient and very friendly.
As far as post offices go - I couldn't ask for a nicer one in Randwick.
Job well done guys. Don't take the haters to heart!!

Most of the staff are nice and helpful. But yesterday, I came across an exception. I handed in my daughter's passport application there and a lady screened my materials. When she saw the translated certificate of birth of my daughter, she said, in a very certain tone, that the document was not NATTI certified, so she was not going to accept it although she would love to help me. After I told her that that document had been used in the application of the previous passport of my daughter, she still insisted that she was not going to accept it. Finally, I happened to spot the line of NATTI on the document after below the name of the person translating the document. She said, ok, she was going to accept it. When I felt that drama should be over, she mentioned that my wife and I signed in a wrong place. It seems that she was going to 'reject' my application. Then I freaked out. She quicky handed me over to another lady who was very nice and helpful. She did not say too much and understood that it was because of the set up of the document, so neither of us signed in the correct place. She did not ask me to bring the document back home to redo it, instead she suggested me how to correct it. With her help, the documents have been successfully lodged.

I do not know the name of that 'exceptional' lady, but still want to share this experience.

Had my daughter’s photo taken at another Australia Post shop and when I came to lodge the application at Randwick, the attendant said the photos didn’t comply. She even confirmed with her manager and said I needed to get them retaken. I was incredulous…! In the end she still let me lodge the application thankfully and I haven’t been contacted by the passport office so I’m guessing the photo was fine! Hence … 3 stars.
