Great spot. Lots of history in the museum, working forge, and lots of locally made metal crafts for sale.

We recently visited the Blacksmith shop and what a treat it was. It was an amazing place and reminded us of our fathers back shed and fossicking around the farm and sheds. Thank you Ian for the insight and to John at the forge that day for making me a special order. Loved it and will visit again.

Stumbled upon this tourist attraction today and what a find, there’s volunteers on hand to describe the workings of a smithy’s shop which has been in the same location since the late 1800’s, see a smith at work then visit the museum where there’s artwork for sale, an old butchers delivery truck and other memorabilia.

Entry by donation and note: it’s only open on weekends.

I wish I had written this the day after we went (Jan 5) but I've only just refound the flyer. Angaston Blacksmith was a place we wanted to visit as a pass through the town and we're glad we set the hour aside to learn about everything Leo offered. He was great for a chat, interesting facts and light hearted. Unfortunatley couldn't buy anything to take home but that never stops a donation that I'd suggest after all the good work Leo does! Thanks for being great.

Love this place, a photographers candy store. My husband is also biting at the bit to get back there to explore some more. Since posting this we managed to get back, I was surprised to see so many changes, it made the trip even more worth while. It was also great to see that the current volunteers are still expressing so much pride and exuberance in the place. Always a pleasure and if you haven't visited in a while go and check out the changes.

Barossa & Light Cab Service are proud to be the first to give a positive review of A&H Doddridge Blacksmith Shop here on Google. We give the 5 star review, because blackshith shops are a dying art, and this shop is truly authentic being established in 1873 means that there is a long history here. This is a shop where the imagination of both young and old are captured, as they come to watch the blacksmith at work, which demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to an era long gone. Groups and buses can come here by appointment, and the shop is open Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 1-4pm. Be sure to check out A & H Doddridge Blacksmith Shop the next time that you are in the Barossa.

This is truly worth a visit. Saved from destruction by volunteers 30 years ago. Lovingly restored and WORKING. A credit to the people who have put this back together. Now open on weekends and public holidays.
A MUST SEE in Angaston.
