Highly recommend the cooking class!

Our experience has been so good, we've done two classes with Matteo. He's a great teacher who wants you to learn and have fun cooking something simple and delicious. They send the recipes you cooked afterwards and are more than happy to answer any questions after the class.

Hot tip: limit yourself to a small portion of gnocchi so you can enjoy dessert! Thank me later 😉

We arrived here for a birthday after a few wineries. I can’t understand why this little enoteca is not pieno pieno - maybe because it doesn’t have a pastel painted shed to take a photo infront of. Comprehending the nuances of why it’s not heaving with people is not the point of this review. Matteo era bravissimo - il cibo (the food) il vino (the wine..Barolo of course) superb. The agnolotti filled with ricotta and ortichi (nettle) was sublime - so much so that we ordered a second serve. Simple food, locally sourced ingredients well executed. Torniamo subito

Beautiful morning turning into lunch! So much fun and such a great set up!
We did a cooking class and enjoyed our 4 courses for lunch at the end with some beautiful wine! Would absolutely recommend doing a cooking class, can't wait to make some gnocci at home

Easily the best coffee in the Barossa. Fiona and Mateo are so friendly and we loved our cooking masterclass - can't wait to try cooking the dish at home. If you get a chance try the homemade chocolate bonboloni!

Took some friends to dinner for their first time on Friday evening. Like us they loved the food experience that is Casa Carboni. Matteo always conjures up some amazing food experiences using fresh local produce, every visit is different. Tom was attentive and gave great recommendations for different wines to complement the food. Fi was her normal attentive smiling self. Great to have you back after your winter break in Italy.

Real Italian. Real passion. Beautiful fresh pasta, fresh ingredients, boutique wine list. It's on our list for every Barossa visit. Cooking school looks fun too.

My husband and I did the “Taste of Barossa “ cooking class with Matteo. Such an enjoyable way to learn some authentic Italian cooking. Just as enjoyable was sharing it all together at the end , with a glass or two of Italian wine. Delicious!! Thankyou so much Fiona and Matteo, so generous with your time and expertise. A “must do” if you’re in the Barossa.

My friend and I did a cooking class here for our 2022 “ birthday experience” and had a wonderful day. We learnt a lot, enjoyed the company and our lovely shared meal after. Would highly recommend it.

Lovely restaurant with personal and attentive service from the team there. Food is lovely, great bread too, and the wine list extensive. Worth it if you want something a little special.

Probably the best Italian food we've ever eaten. The service was friendly and informative. Highly recommended.
