Spring Bay Distillery Spring Beach

From someone who has visited many a Gin Distillery in my time this one is well worth a visit. Small little unassuming little place was surprisingly such a delight. We did both the Gin and Whisky tasting with the host giving a detailed and great story/explanation. We would recommend to everyone to stop in for a visit.

Based in Spring Beach overlooking Maria Island, this distillery and cellar door produces outstanding whisky, gin, vodka and brandy. Well worth a visit.

What a fabulous time we had at a tasting of gins here on a Sunday afternoon. Robyn was such a gracious host and so full of information. We loved the Sloe Gin and the Pinot Gin and walked away with one of each. A tiny set up in a bush setting but so worth the stop.

Just been back for our second visit and were very lucky to be hosted by one of the owners, Suzy. Got the full Gin and Whisky tasting experience and so much more.
We absolutely love this gin, as one of the absolute stand outs in an increasingly crowded Tasmanian field. We didn't buy any of the vodka, but only because we still have some left from our last purchase. I also had a taste of the full range of whiskies and they are all so good it was so hard to choose just one. So I chose two, the bourbon- cask Rheban which is delicious, as well as some Solera in a hip flask which I have been meaning to buy for ages.
If you are anywhere near the east coast, make the time to stop by, and you will not regret it. Also look out for SBD range on the drinks menus of some of the finest Tasmanian restaurants. Definitely some fine Tasmanian spirits, worth travelling for.

Fantastic place to stop if your in the area do a tasting, the whiskey is fantastic, the atmosphere is great, a nice small intimate tasting bar with a little rustic charm, well worth a short detour to have a look the staff are passionate and happy to help with selections and have a fantastic knowledge of the products on offer, definitely recommend a visit, I'm sure I will be back.

I am so glad my husband and I visited for a gin and a whisky flight here at Spring Bay Distillery. We were greeted by a lovely ‘elderly gentleman’ named ‘Pablo’ 🐶 The lady who served us was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Lovely rustic atmosphere with a beautiful outlook over the bay. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

We had a lovely time doing a gin tasting. Suzy was a very welcoming and knowledgeable host. All the gins were delicious and we bought several bottles. The view and setting were delightful and it was great how you could just turn up.

This place is a hidden gem, welcomed by bella the dog on entry, followed by an in depth explanation on how they have created all there spirits. Both whisky and gin. Highly recommend to any spirit lovers out there, this is not a place to miss!!!!

This is lovely and quaint distillery nestled in Spring Beach. Big thanks to Suzy who walked my fella through a whisky tasting. Her knowledge, passion and enthusiasm is infectious. They don’t just do whisky, they also have gin which means there’s something for everyone who visits. We walked away informed, with smiles on our faces and with a bottle of their Tasmanian Single Malt and a bottle of gin. If you are in the Spring beach area or in Hobart then I highly recommend putting this on your list of places to visit because you won’t regret it .You might also be lucky enough to meet Bella - their gorgeous dog who swings by for a few pats from those who drop by.

Great gin and whisky! Had a tour of their little distillery in Spring Bay. Both Suzy and Cam were very friendly and passionate; you could tell they were doing what they love!

You will need to call ahead and make an appointment, but you get a very personal experience which is well worth it. We happened to be there while they were in the process of distilling. We also got to see and smell the different botanicals used for their gin.

Beautiful location and lovely little set up for tasting. Highly recommend!

Great tour of the Distillery (by appointment). Fantastic and scenic location. Cam and Suzy were very generous with their time. Great to see the impressive still and set-up. Loved the tasting area with the chunky Tassie feature wood slab table. Superb products! Really enjoyed the tasting and chat with Cam and Suzy. Looking forward to the next release to follow their first two sell-out releases!

Had a tour of the Cambridge location as part of a Tas drinks tour.

Dean was incredible! His passion and knowledge (as well as this delicious samples) was the highlight of the tour! would recommend to whiskey and gin lovers alike!

Today we met Suzy, Cam and their beautiful choco lab and fell in love with their distillery. Such a humble shed producing world class gin and whisky. Would 100% reccomend a visit and yarn.
