Bluff River Gorge

Magnificent place to visit... if you can FIND IT!!

Firstly, Google Maps does NOT know where the start of the walk is. I t tells you to turn right "here" through a fence into bushland 😕
We pulled over and saw a small unmarked walking track off the road, so we set out... Google Maps told us we were on track until, suddenly we weren't 🤔 Thankfully my husband is geographically smart, and used the satellite imagery to find the Gorge.
Again, accessing the Gorge itself was unmarked but for a small pink tape tied to a tree. Taking that track, we FINALLY found ourselves in the Gorge, experiencing it's magical beauty 😍
On trekking back out, we found a dirt track, which we followed in a big winding circle, only to find ourselves coming out of an open entrance on Buckland Rd, 10 mins walk further up than our car! 🙄.
HOW TO GET THERE:
* When Google Maps tells you "you have arrived", switch it off and keep going until you see a car park clearing and signage on your right!
* Follow the dirt road/track (on foot!) all the way until you can see the Gorge on your left, then keep an eye out for the pink tape on the tree...
* Turn left down the rather overgrown track.
* Keep heading to your left, WATCH YOUR STEP, and enjoy the views. 😄👍

Great walk to some amazing sandstone cliffs. Watch out for the mud 🤦‍♀😂

Fantastic walk

A beautiful gorge line with sandstone cliffs, overhangs and small caves. NB- unmarked walking trails.

Persons need reasonable fitness and keep an eye out for the tapes..

Don'tt let anyone tell you it's a walk. It's a hike not a walk!!!
