My Children love visiting Coober Pedy, exploring the sights and noodling finding their own opals!
Staying underground is always exciting for them too!
Lots to look at, Big Winch, underground museums, underground churches, underground tours, Opal shops, they even still have an active Drive-In Movies on Saturday nights during the colder months.
Very hot in Summer but perfect weather to visit in August - October

Staying underground in Coober Pedy was one of the most spectacular experiences in my life, and exploring Coober Pedy was also a really nice experience, there are many Opal stores and also lots of historic places, if you are travelling around the outback, Coober Pedy is a town you cannot miss.

I love this place It is cheap to live people are friendly and can get hot but that's life The food and rent are so cheap glad I left Qld to come here

Very different place to be. Everything here. Only downfall is no signage to public opal fields. Very difficult to find. Maybe an actual area for tourists to have a fossick would help with signage

It's a town you wouldn't have experienced before, dugout houses to painted desert, you must visit
