Straw House B and B

Absolutely beautiful! Tony and Anna run a seriously good farm-stay! Our group of 4 adults + 1 toddler had the best time! Amazing breakfast each day, baby goats and cuddly donkeys and all within an easy drive from the Ballandean wineries!! Highly recommend!

We had a beautiful time at Straw House B&B. Anna and Tony were so welcoming and helpful from the booking through to our stay and departure.
Our daughters loved playing with and feeding the many farm animals each day and toasting marshmallows by the fire at night.
Our breakfasts were wonderful and plenty of it! The accomodation was very comfortable and well throughout with lots of nice touches.
The location is also great, a close drive to many of the areas attractions.

Honestly we couldn’t have asked for anything more from our stay. Everything was perfect. The room was beautiful, and exceptionally clean. The grounds are amazing, and the animals are just incredible. Every detail was fantastic and the hosts, Anna and Tony went above and beyond. The breakfast was also fabulous, honestly the options both of food and condiments etc. was just perfect. We cannot wait to go back and stay again!

What a fantastic farm stay. We stayed 3 nights in one of the straw cottages that were cosy and clean. The hosts Anna & Tony were very accommodating and cooked up the best home cooked breakfasts using local fresh produce. The animal experience was also a highlight. We will definitely be back and will recommend to family and friends.

My wife and myself had the best time here. Not only was Anna an amazing host and gave us a tour around the property and showed us all the farm animal’s but the location was perfect as it was a close drive to town, dinner, wineries, and tourist attractions.

The breakfast the following morning was great, best corn fritters I’ve ever had! The cabin we stayed in was the Tiny House, the perfect size for our trip. The cabin was extremely comfortable and cozy, fit the scenic views perfectly. Our stay was the best value we’ve had on a trip before. Couldn’t recommend Anna and her beautiful Straw House BnB more!

Absolutely loved our stay. Anna and Tony were the best hosts. Nothing was to much. It was lovely to be able have our small dog with us on the farm who also shared in walks and talks with the animals. Also a great location as it close to everything. Definitely the place to stay if you are visiting the Granite belt region.

Just arrived home from a lovely, relaxing Easter long weekend at The Straw House Farm B&B! We stayed in the Tiny House - beautiful views of the mountains and farm from the deck, plenty of fresh country air, wide open spaces to explore, loads of animals to interact with (and these were a MASSIVE hit with all the children staying), great local wineries, breweries and foodie places to indulge in, and an amazing host in Anna, who thought of and provided all the little extra creature comforts to really make our stay special. An added bonus for us was that we were able to have our furbaby (dog) along with us, and she was also welcomed with open arms (and absolutely exhausted at the end of each day from all of her adventures). BUT an extra special mention must be made for the most amazing home-cooked, farm fresh, country breakfasts delivered daily…. Oh My Goodness, DIVINE!!!!!!
Can not recommend staying here highly enough!!!! We took a picture of a rainbow 🌈 that came out after some rain just after we arrived….. the rainbow seems to end at The Straw House Farm B&B, and that couldn’t be more appropriate as it really is the pot of gold!!!!!!

Straw house was the most beautiful bnb. The food was absolutely spectacular at breakfast. Our little dog loved the farm and so did we. Anna and Tony were so beautiful and helpful with great recommendations with what to do around Stanthrope. Very close to other activities to do around the area. Thanks for the best stay!

We had the most amazing experience and stay at the tiny house in Stanthorpe! From the moment we arrived we were greeted and shown around, where we got to meet all of the adorable farm animals which was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Anna was super lovely and accommodating, the breakfast was to die for, and the banana bread was the best I’ve ever had.

The tiny house was the perfect size for us, decorated beautifully with no details missed! The fire pit was the perfect, cosy way to end the day, after visiting a few local wineries that were conveniently close by to our accommodation.

We were so happy to find such a perfect, inclusive stay at such great value. Can’t wait to come back and bring friends and family to experience this hidden gem too.

Met the owners when we arrived and was made to feel extremely welcome. Great recommendations on where to go for dinner lunch and good places to visit. Beautiful property and nothing quite like sitting on the deck watching all the animals coming to say hello. Thank you for having us.

If immaculate is what you are after, look no further than the tiny house. Not a speck of dust in sight. Anna & Tony are lovely hosts, Anna says she is not a chef but her foods says otherwise. Even with 2/3 days we had rain the animals were the most magical part. This was a bday weekend away with just Hubby and I and we can’t wait to return for a family vacation xx

Absolutely amazing stay at Strawhouse BnB. Anna was a wonderful host, her cooking skills are next level with the breakfast each morning being top notch. The cabins are decorated beautifully with comfortable bedding & great amenities, the animals are lovely and added an extra element to our stay. We are already planning out next stay with Anna at Strawhouse and can't wait!

We really enjoyed our 2 nights here. We stayed in the converted grain storage trailer cabin, very comfortable and modern. Was lovely sitting on the verandah surrounded by the animals and taking in the views.
The fire pit and BBQ was excellent. Breakfast each morning was very tasty , with everything being made by Anna (the host) in her kitchen from home grown and locally sourced products.
The animals are a delight and great for young children to learn about.
Highly recommend staying here if you're after a quiet relaxing stay. Note that it is 20 km from Stanthorpe so be prepared for a short drive to get to town.
A few places close by worth the visit is Heritage wines, a 15 minutes walk a long the railway line.
Sutton's (opposite the big apple) for amazing (and huge serves) of apple pie and apple ciders.
Donnellys Castle for a short bush walk and rock caves exploring.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Anna and Tony are such great hosts and amazingly patient with kids. Made my 3 year old son's day when Tony took him for a ride on their tractor. Beautiful place and fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended!

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend away in Stanthorpe and surrounds, staying at The Straw House B&B. Anna and Tony could not have been more wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they were more than friendly and helpful and happy to chat.
Each morning a delicious hot, home cooked breakfast was delivered to the room.
The property was perfect for a wander at any time of the day or afternoon, which meant we spotted birds, rabbits and the gorgeous highland cattle, that are hand fed every afternoon with an invitation to join in.
The accommodation is at the gateway to the granite belt and literally around the corner from award winning wineries and Sam's the fruit and vegetable shop. We decided to drive back to Warwick on the Old Stanthorpe Rd, which had no traffic and really lent itself to the 'Sunday country drive'.
We had the most wonderful weekend away in the straw cottage, it was warm and welcoming and comfortable, with beautiful quilts and a homely feel, with the welcome treat of chocolate brownies and an eclectic range of reading materials if you came empty handed.
I wish we had more time to explore the beautiful Granite Belt region, but no doubt we will be back, and we know where to stay. Thanks again.

We had the pleasure of staying for a night in the gorgeous strawhouse! From the time we arrived we were blown away. The personal touches in the house are exceptional; from the Sheridan sheets & towels, amazing shower and home made biccies on arrival. Anna was so very friendly and showed us around the house and invited us to feed the cows later in the afternoon. An amazing experience! They are one of a kind. Tony went above and beyond too by setting us up a campfire under the stars that evening and making sure we had everything we needed. After a relaxing evening and incredible sleep (the bed is like a cloud!) we woke up to an AMAZING handmade breakfast! The best corn fritters we have ever had. We have made exceptional memories at the Strawhouse and even better we have found new friends we now consider family. We are counting down the days until we are back again!

Amazing farm stay B and B. Great home cook breakfast, entertaining animals, friendly host. We stayed in an elegant and rustic converted grain truck which is a novelty in itself. Just off the main road, close to several vineyards and a cheese factory. Would definitely stay again.

Anna and her husband couldn't have been more welcoming. A last minute booking, yet the room was exceptionally clean and well equipped. They welcome you personally, are full of knowledge of the area and local restaurants (though they haven't even been running the place for more than 6 months) and offer extra services like a baby bed just out of gratuite. We've had the most pleasant stay walking around the apple orchard and a wonderful night sleep in a very comfortable bed. The breakfast deserves a special mention as it's served personally to you with no effort spared. A service bar none, Anna and her husband really go above and beyond.

Was their between 31/7/2020 & 2/08/2020. My wife and I had a wonderful time. Anna & Toni were extremely accommodating and the breakfast and other hospitality was 5 Star. Dalveen Sports club on a Friday evening is something to experience if your up too the task ( check with Anna and Toni if you need cash). They cater for all diets and Anna and Toni are extremely great cooks.
