Woodwark Bay Retreat

Ash and I just loved this beautiful spot in paradise the room was layed out extremely well. The detail that has gone into making your stay comfortable was noticed. We stayed in the Kingfisher Bungalow you walk out to the deck and the pool was right there, so enjoyable to listen to the birdlife and green tree frogs while sipping on a coldy or morning coffee. Cleaniness was exceptional 👌 Thank you Gary and Lorna for a wonderful stay and relaxed atmosphere. 👍😊

What a treat you are in for at Woodwark Retreat. From that moment you arrive your shoulders drop and you feel relaxed. Ash and I stayed in the Kingfisher Bungalow and woke up everyday feeling like we had the best nights sleep ever. Lorna and Gary have put so much detail, love and passion into the Bungalow and we have never slept in a comfier bed..Not only is the mattress super comfy, the bamboo sheets top it off. We are upgrading our bed and sheets after this trip.

Your morning starts with the beautiful colours of the sunrise coming through the surrounding rainforest with the various sounds of birds at the helm. This sets the tone for the day for all that is on offer to experience around the area.
The outside deck has your own private BBQ.. you can sit back of an afternoon , have a drink or two and take it all in, dinner for two intimate style!
Don’t forget to jump in the pool and have a laze about. They have decked it out with relaxing in mind. The fresh water component is invigorating!

Lorna and Gary have attention to detail and have thought of everything, so all you need is your clothes, some food and beverages and you are on your way to a relaxed vaycay,

Lovely and peaceful place! We met the owner this morning and had a lovely chat. They really created an amazing and quiet atmosphere. The rooms were lovely decorated and clean. Woodwark Bay Retreat is my favourite place to stay in Airlie Beach. It's a tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle, but just a quick trip into town.
Northerlies restaurant is close by and offers a free shuttle operates.
The rooms are beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The pool is huge and inviting on a hot day.
The hosts Lorna and Gary are lovely people and were extremely accomodating and made sure my stay was perfect.
I would highly recommend Woodwark Bay Retreat to anyone looking for quality accommodation in a peaceful location.

I wanted a quiet spot with a reasonable level of comfort and quality service. My expectations were exceeded.
Gary and Lorna were exceptional hosts and provided great personal service, in a beautiful modern bungalow, with everything you could need. Was lovely to sit by the pool and watch and listen to the birdlife. All this and only a short drive into town. Will definitely be back. Thank you for the very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Woodwark Retreat is in an absolutely beautiful part of Queensland. The rooms are superbly appointed with every comfort you could ever need. Lorna and Gary are great hosts and make you feel so welcome. There is a nice place to sit outside overlooking the lap pool and out into a bush setting. Just beautiful, 5 stars.

A beautiful and peaceful oasis outside of Airlie Beach. I think the reviews complaining about the distance from town should possibly look at a map prior to booking. Fantastic if you want to be self contained away from the hustle and bustle. Hosts are very accommodating and happy to assist.There is also a great restaurant and bar nearby. We have stayed here twice and would be happy to return and recommend to others. If you want to be in the middle of the tourist strip this is not the place for you.

Beautiful Accommodation. Just a short drive from town. Luxury rooms with a dreamy pool. Comfortable stay for our family of 4. Gary and Lorna were very accommodating. Its a little sanctuary. Will definitely be back.

Having spent the last four weeks touring North Queensland.I would have to say my best experience by far was a stay at Airlie Beaches Woodwark Bay Retreat.The combination of your friendly host Lorna and the retreats beautifully appointed bungalow’s. Close to all Of Airlie’s attractions makes for an unforgettable holiday. Would definitely visit again. Many thanks Lorna.

Very lovely people. Down to earth and hospitable. Rooms were lovely and new and clean. Pool was amazing and really set the ambiance for a quite rural retreat! Kitchen and amenities+outdoor bbq nice touch and handy when staying more than a couple nights. Well definately be back. Thanks for having us!

This was by far the worst Airbnb experience me and my family have ever had. We had been there for half an hour after it costed us 80 dollars to get to this location. The hosts were not responsive , and finally when they did respond they were very rude and un-accomodating to me and my sister and our two boys. The Male host scared our boys and made us extremely uncomfortable. After calling air bnb and letting them know of the situation they were very supportive , the hosts only refunded us half the cost and charged us a cleaning fee on top of it all. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Stay inside of airlie beach where all the fun is. Thanks Airbnb for being concerned about our safety and helping us out.

Very rude hosts! Do not recommend as they were more concerned about charging us more money then focusing on the issues we had within the room.
