Sweeney Reserve

Great park with well set out paths approximately 7 km walk from football ground to dog park return. Very peaceful walk along North Pine river. Dog park is well equipped with agility course, benches, shade and water fountain.

Beautiful grassland along side the Northpine river. Some nice bush, water bodies and a pebbled beach in one corner. It's right behind the Petrie Police Station. Though it's lost a bit of a charm when the tall trees at the bank of the river got washed off in the last flood, the place still is a great get-away from the city, yet so close to it....!

I love walking here the paths are easy to walk on, it's wonderful to see the huge flying foxes and read about them and the history of the reserve, water taps are great for the dogs and a quick drink, we still keep on looking for the koalas

Sweenies is so underrated it's picturesque , quiet , abundant with animals including the bat roost which is getting bigger and bigger highly rate

Such a beautiful place to run, with lots of shady trees around. Parkrun is here every Saturday morning at 7am. A lovely, friendly crowd of people.

Glad they removed the dog park in this important wildlife corridor after reports of koalas being mauled to death! Here's a very pixelated sighting from this afternoon across from the oval :)

Kurwongbah state school has really changed over these past few years and it become a good school you should really consider sending your children hear

Very, very nice place to visit. Lots of shade and open grass, nice views of the river during high tide (and low tide). Very safe, right next to the police station with well kept roads and lots of parking. Popular with dog walkers. There is a marked running trail and signs around detailing the history of the park. Highly recommend for all people.

Great place. Lots of space, meandering paths etc. My dog loved the large off-leash area. Unlike so many off-leash parks, which are small fenced off open grass areas, this is quite big and has been left natural and bushy. Bordered on two side by the river and the other two sides by a fence. If your dog is given to escaping be aware there is a gap at both ends of the fence. The area is big enough for that not to be a major problem, just be aware of it as you're entering and leaving.

A great park to visit. Good for dogs with off leash areas. Easy access to river, however no boat ramp. Possible fishing spot when the tide is in. Large grassy area, and great spots for photos. Large well developed trees provide plenty of shade. Points of interest for Pokémon GO too(gyms/stops). Lots of intersecting paths that lead on many walking tracks. Exercise station and sand pit with digger for kids also.

Beautifully maintained lawns with lots of shade, water points and great views along the river and dams. Even a chance to spot a koala.

Beautiful hidden treasure of Petrie. Great Parkrun 5km track. Great dog parks. If you are lucky you will spot many koalas. It has a park for kids, toilets and seating with bbqs. Lovely place for photos as it is a wonderful natural backdrop with many fig trees.

Another great park and playground in the Moreton Bay area with heaps to do and see. Large dog off leash area next to the river down the bottom of the carpark, heaps of parking spread out around the reserve. Public toilets on site, very new and shiny looking. Bike and walking paths all through the reserve with links to Mungarra Reserve and Petrie train station and Wyllie Reserve. Large open grass areas for running around, playgrounds and climbing trees for the kids. Very nice area for everyone to enjoy.

Lovely park for a jog at a Parkrun but be careful there are a few hills and it's very hot I'm from Victoria and my pasty white skin cannot handle this raw heat I shrivelled up like an overcooked turkey

Dangerous floods in 2011 and through April & May 2022 twice in one year .
But most of the time it's lovely to take a stroll through this beautiful park stay cool under lots of shady trees on soft grass in Summer . 🌞 🌾🌴🌳🌲🍃🍂🍁🐸🕊
