Coober Pedy Drive In

A great way to spend a Saturday night. It’s closed at the moment due to storm damage to the screen but will be open again soon. When you pass through town make sure to be here for a Saturday night. From memory it was $25 for a car load. Snacks are available. They also play the sound through a loud speaker and have chairs in-front of the projection room so you can walk on and still watch the film.

Fantastic way to spend a Saturday evening. Well done to the volunteers. You tune into the movie via radio or put your windows down as they have it on speakers. Watch the movie in the comfort of your own car and get food from the BBQ. Had a great time, glad we ended up staying over the weekend here in Coober Pedy, a hidden gem.

If you go to Coober Pedy try to line it up with a Saturday so you can attend the drive ins, awesome experience! Bring your own snacks or they have a candy bar there also. We loved this experience, you can find out what movies are on at the info centre or online. It’s a pretty good price at $20 per car and you can connect your radio very easily to get sound.

I rode my motorcycle from Alice Springs today and I arrived just in time for the movie. I didn't have cash nor the venue accepted cards payments. However the staff member said: "go in, I will pay for your ticket!"

So lucky to have the Drive-In in Coober Pedy! For $20 you can take a car load for a good night out. Try doing that at other cinema's!

Coober pedy still got driving in open air movie, i have see it for over 20 years! So kool.its on every saturday, be sure to see it, $20 per car

Loved it - this was our first ever drive in cinema experience and it was awesome - the sound is played on speakers but is also broadcast on a FM frequency for your radio.
