Happy Boy

Brisbane has a really good range of Asian and fusion cuisine but Happy Boy was the first and one of the best places I ate at during my time visiting. The dishes are well thought out with complementary flavours. The beef cheek was incredibly tender with a rich sauce to match. The portion sizes were healthy and one plate plus rice was just right for lunch. Overall, good quick service and wholesome fusion food. I would highly recommend visiting.

Amazing experience, as per usual. Great food, great service and not expensive for what you get. I highly recommend the banquet for $50pp. You are going to eat a lot 🤤

loved this place! highly recommend the set menu - value is awesome. $50 a head and there was so much food we had to get a takeaway container at the end. you can leave the selection up to the staff or customise if there’s something you really want to try. we were there a little early so started a bottle at snack man and then walked the drink over. only downside was that we were seated behind a large pillar so struggled to get service but it was a really busy friday so can’t really complain!

We sat inside on a rainy day. The decor is simplistically industrial, but pleasant. We shared the chef's banquet...a selection of dishes chosen by the chef. My friend expressed a preference for a particular dish and the lovely waitess said she would ask, but couldn't promise...but the dish came, as requested. The food was delicious and enough for leftovers for two people. Coupled with a glass of chilled red wine each, it was a most enjoyable lunch.

Happy Boy is the best value for money spot in Brisbane. The food is ridiculously amazing and still reasonably priced. The atmosphere is equally as amazing and memorable. Really high quality dining experience and a must try for anyone in Brisbane. Never fails to deliver.

Very nice atmosphere. Outdoor and indoor options for dining. Parking is limited in the street. Food is very flavorsome and many textures in the food. A very pleasant dining experience. Staff friendly and very clean.

We had a good time here at Happy Boy. The restaurant was beautiful and had a clean and sophisticated vibe without being formal or pretentious. The seats near the window were quite nice as the windows were open, allowing you to feel the fresh breeze on your skin, and smell the trees and nature outside.

The food was really good, but maybe a little bit too oily for our liking. Highly recommend the duck fried rice. The eggplant dish (with pork) was also quite nice, and so was the chicken!

Service was good - staff were friendly and food came quickly. There is also a bathroom on site. It’s not the nicest, but does the job! Would definitely recommend Happy Boy for a casual lunch (we even saw large groups coming for a celebration)!

Dinner service was quick and the staff were helpful, attentive and friendly.

Our first time at Happy Boy and the food did not disappoint. We especially loved the truffle fried rice and my partner the beef stew.

Good size portion and we left feeling extremely full.

We booked for a group of 30 people for lunch, and the service was fantastic throughout the entire process. The team were easy to communicate with in the lead-up and accommodated all allergens/dietary requirements with ease on the day. The food and atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend!

Always love dining under the fairy lit trees at Happy Boy! Normally I indulge in their chef’s banquet as it is fabulous value for money and it’s always fun not knowing what dishes we’re about to receive. Recently however, I decided to order a la carte as it was just a friend and I and everything was outstanding and hit the spot! The mapo tofu was spicy yet not overpowering, and the Taiwanese chicken bun was crispy and juicy. The only sad part of this particular experience at Happy Boy was that they ran out of hoisin for the Peking duck pancakes - serious first world problems. Can’t wait for many more meals at Happy Boy!

Had an early booking as we prefer to dine before it gets busy, had a warm welcome, was quiet on arrival, but started to get busy quickly, we liked the industrial vibe, is very cool.

Staff were attentive and helpful, we chose the banquet, as thought it'd be fun, and not disappointed! Food was excellent, quality and quantity, had to take one dish home.

Wine list extensive, tried a Cincault, similar to a Pinot, as told by waiter, even my partner loved it and she doesn't drink, so bought a bottle to take home, $30 less, how good!

Overall, awesome dining experience, will be back very soon!

Came here with the office for lunch on Friday - I have to say the food is absolutely AMAZING! Would highly recommend. We had 20 of us attend and sent a list of our whole order a couple of days ahead of our scheduled lunch. Food was coming out pretty quickly but there were a couple of us still waiting for our food after some time, other tables came in and started getting their food. They forgot our food but quickly grabbed it. Still, absolutely delicious. Third time coming here.

Fantastic Chinese restaurant with great weekday lunch deals and high quality flavourful food. We had the eggplant pork belly dish and the 3 cup chicken.

$18 - Eggplant was caked in flavour and had a great soft texture contrasting well with crispy pork belly.

$22 - 3 cup chicken, sweet with a hint of spice and melt in your mouth tender, beautiful.

$3 - Steamed rice, more than enough for 2 people.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere 5/5 would eat there again.

The food here is very nice with slight authentic taste. Happy boy is a great place for a celebration due to the atmosphere and the service is very good. Staff is very friendly and takes care of you well. They also have a full wine list where you can open bottles which is quite valuable or they could get you bottles from Snack Man which is their brothers restaurant next to it as well.

Awesome Asian food with a sharing plate style. All our dishes were great but the crowd fave was the beans! The wine list is really amazing, the best range of natural wines I’ve seen in Brisbane. Worth a trip and a pretty cheap food location for group dining.

I have visited this place multiple times, and each time the food has consistently been amazing. However, I must admit that the service has usually been below average. Fortunately, during our most recent visit, we were fortunate enough to have Astrid as our server, and she truly elevated our dining experience to a whole new level.

Excellent service, excellent food, excellent decor. All round five star experience. I’ve never experienced a fusion of Eastern and Western style pork belly where all sides of each individual pork belly piece is seared off and the fat is rendered superbly. I highly, highly recommend the lunch specials because for its price it’s a lot of food and absolutely delicious. Please go and check it out!

What a surprise!! I walked past this restaurant many times and finally decided to stop for a lunch with my family. All I have to say is that it was a fantastic experience. Food was tasty and the portions generous for a very decent price. We will be back soon. Highly recommended.
