Shane & Hilary were the best part of the buying experience for my wife & I. I would say we were only able to secure a property in Norman Park because of them with our near impossible requirements. Locate Buyers Agency – Shane and Hilary.

My wife and I moved back to Queensland 2022, with an idea to rent and then buy in the Brisbane 4074 area. Buying a house in Brisbane is not like it used to be, most would be under offer before the first inspection. When we finally found the house of our dreams in 2023, (yes, a year later) we mismanaged the final negotiations and missed out on the purchase. We had no idea what we should have offered, no idea how much the house was worth and felt like we were swimming in shark infested waters.

We finally decided to hire experts and I really like Shane’s videos on the Locate Buyers Agency website explaining how to buy the right place at the right price. The decision to hire Shane and Hilary to take over our search and then negotiations was the best decision ever. All the stress was relieved, we had hope. When describing our perfect house, we described the one we missed out on 2 months before. Shane said, hmmm, let me ring the agent and see what is happening. Over a period of a few days, we heard from Shane explaining the purchasers were struggling with getting the loan approved and had to delay settlement for the second time. He stated, this is our chance to get the house for you, lets put and attractive offer together and see what happens.

We started to worry about the offer being made, because it was more than we originally offered, we had no knowledge of what a good or bad offer was. Shane sat down with us over Zoom, and walked us through the thinking process, and what a house of this size was really worth in the current market. The final offer was really on the money, it was good value for money, we had completely got the wrong idea trying to figure out the very first offer ourselves. We could clearly see the value with his help.

Shane then put the offer together even offering a 3-day house inspection clause, which I thought I can’t get an inspector in 3 days. Shane said, no problem, I have one of the best on the books and he will debrief us all together on the day. No need to wait. He was right, the house inspector inspected the place top to bottom and found everything. I had a list of what needed to be done and how important and what priority that needed to fix. Basically, it gave us complete confidence to purchase. Did I say Shane and Hilary organised this all, we were just told be here at this time for the debrief, No Stress.

We loved the constant updates on Whats App, the live recorded personal messages updating us, the late-night calls and the calls at work. Shane and Hilary never stopped, we would ask a smart or stupid question they would answer. Flood zones, OMG Hilary help, couple hours later, here are the flood maps, here is your house, you are safe, and insurance is reasonable. What solicitor should we use, no problem we have tabs on the best in Brisbane, this company is great, and they also prioritise our clients. Hilary, we want to paint before we move in, we can’t find a painter at a reasonable cost who isn’t booked out for the next 3 months, No problem, we have a painter on the books who prioritises our clients. Nothing was too hard, nothing was unsolvable, everything was completed to a very high standard.

End Result: We got the Dream House we originally missed out on. We got it for a great price, 6 months later the exact same house next door sold for an extra $145,000.

Was paying for a Buyers Agent worth it, A resounding Yes. Would we use Shane and Hilary again: Yes.
