I stayed in my caravan, solo traveller... Leanne in Reception is an absolute blessing and so is her son... Saved my sanity and assisted me in my distress, I am forever grateful,,, if you want a friendly face and helpful friendly advice/assistance stay here, close to town and all amenities also. Shower/toilets very clean too

When checking in explained I had tent but required power to car receptionist allowed me to go check out the camp sites to see which if any were suitable for a tent yes site 1 has enough soil/dirt for pegs to secure tent also has a tree which supplied shade. Facilities where code locked where clean and maintained. Staff for checking was friendly and professional. Plenty of options for staying. Good location close to sites.

As an overnight stop when travelling between Adelaide and Alice Springs (or vice versa) I've stayed at the Opal Inn a number of times. It's clean and comfy enough. You can pretty much always park your car right outside your room which is good for unpacking/packing and security.
The rooms have some wear and tear but they're clean, the beds are comfortable, there's good aircon and decent hot water and flow in the shower. Really what more could you ask for especially as the rates generally provide some of the best value for money in Coober Pedy.
I'll keep staying there when I do the Alice Springs to Adelaide road trip :)

Great place to stay on such a haul on Stuart Highway. We had slept on a tent the night before, and couldn't wait for a nice and comfy hotel room. We visited three or four hotels in town before choosing this one. We chose a budget room, which was offered only after they noticed we were looking for good value for money. The room was clean and tidy, we had a delicious shower and managed to rest all night long. There was complimentary tea and coffee, a fridge, aircon. Awesome!

This motel is just as advertised. For the budget conscious with comfortable bed, clean rooms, dining on site and yes a bit dated but can't fault other aspects. I am not after opulence.
Friendly staff at reception and in the bistro. Best of all was for our 2 night stay with a different chef on each night, they made sure I had great meals which catered to my food intolerances. Thank you.

Scotty and staff made us feel welcomed and valued. Thank you to Chef who cooked a delicious meal 2 nights in a row. Coober pedy chicken was fantastic as was the lamb shanks and the beef schnitzel! Well done, great food, good price, great service! Highly recomend!

Indian lady at reception courteous & friendly, made me feel welcome. Room clean, spacious. Water, coffee, milk, sugar, electric jug, fridge, tv, a/c. hair-dryer, etc. Clean bedding. Price very reasonable but shower was deal breaker as water ran out after 3 minutes.

We camped here and have no complaints, other than the water in the shared toilet blocks was only lukewarm. The staff was super warm, friendly and welcoming and we felt comfortable and safe.

I was glad to end up at this place. First the staff obliged my late check in for a camping site. Unfortunately a little later my tent blew down in a dust storm, and then the manager helped me after hours by providing a room at a discounted rate. Facilities were decent and comfortable and all the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. I didn't get around to trying the restaurant.

The place was ok but the pup next doors is very bad we get in for dinner me and my wife take a sit by ourselves waiting for the waiter to come take our order but nothing he keep going up and down infront of us but nothing not even a hi or I will be with you in a minute nothing waiting for 20 minutes nothing he serve the person next to us but no eyes contact to us so me an my decide to leave we make our way to the door still he doesn't make a move our disappointment or concern is that people don't like Indians people or black people so bad for 2023

Stayed a night here and dealt with a lovely woman named Tania/Tanya. I left an item behind and she was extremely helpful in getting it back to me! Great customer service! Room was also clean and was what we expected, would definitely recommend this place. There is also a good place to grab food and drinks in the hotel.

Michael and his team were extremely nice. We really enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend this to everyone. Especially because we checked in late it was hassle free and done over the phone.

Stayed in the caravan park on a nice wide site up the back for a special deal of 4 nights. Reasonable price for cp. Showers are now free. The sites have power but no water to the actual site. However water is available to fill up for what I thought was a small cost. Sites are dirt but that is to be expected. We . have had that most of the way through the centre. Ammenities are satisfactory with hot water and reasonably clean. Have had no problem with noise at any time. Reception staff are polite and helpful. Just ask for the information.

Comfortable clean room, reasonably priced considering it’s located so far away from everything else. Friendly & helpful staff. Safe parking located in front of the room. Everything we need for comfortable outback experience.

Our Greyhound bus from Alice Springs arrived late at 8pm and Vodafone does not work in Coober Pedy or in much of the outback. I went across the street to the Opal inn and the receptionist Bev was kind enough to call our booked hotel, an underground hotel at the end of town, to see if they or anyone else could drive us there. They said they could not do despite me calling 2 weeks ahead and being assured there was transport available in Coober Pedy.

I cancelled our reservation at the underground hotel and had a pleasant stay at the Opal Inn. Bev was kind enough to drive us to the airport the next morning to catch our flight over Laker Eyre which without her assistance, I would have forfeited over $1,300 for the flight. The hotel is clean and in a central location. I am grateful for Bev who showed us tourist what country hospitality is really about.

It is a very friendly very nice and well laid out Oasis in a harsh desert land. And I have been told this town has the most pure artesian water anywhere in Australia.

Was okay but arriving late was like a scene from the walking dead in the Main Street.
