Kurri Ngawanthi (Creek Campground)

Upgraded campsite on the new "Wild South Coast Way" hike from Cape Jervis to Victor Harbor. Hike in only though. Great facilities. Huge shelter to get out of the weather with 2 tables + benches, prep benches, kitchen sink, rain water (needs treating), USB charger. Separate long drop toilets (2 of) that are the best I've seen. Plenty of water storage (3 x 5000L for the shelter & 2 x 5000L for the toilets) both were around 75% full when we camped there on 26 Jan 2023.
Only 10 campsites (max 20 people). 6 of them are on raised wooden platforms, and the other 4 are cleared earth patches. We chose one of the platforms.

The Ballaparudda Creek that runs through the campsite had water flowing in it (with yabbies) even in late January.
A great campsite to relax at after a hard day hiking, as its uphill to it whichever way you're coming from

Beautifully renovated with lovely facilities. Situated on an easy access dirt road so can be used for staging a longer walk.

A beautiful spot, thats Changed in a Monumental way over recent years.
Personally I liked it before all of the Infrastructure.
But, it's definitely made it more "ill-prepared" Friendly.
No Open Fires are allowed.
I've helped Many people in this area who have come un-stuck due to the Climatic changes here (even a Survival Instructor).
Take Care, Be Prepared. It gets Cold, & it gets wet,, Very Wet & Without Notice. The Weather that's reported online is taken from 15kms away. So,, Be warned.
Remember, Farmers/Locals use the roads. Keep Left.

What an awesome location. So peaceful and tucked away.

We loved it at this location (just note it's only for walkers)and has great tent platforms set between the trees and in the cooler months has the Little creek running.
