I wouldn’t hire Marie Pardy.
As the Evatt National Health Co-Op no longer exist, consider this review as a formal complaint about Marie Pardy.

My children and I have been patients of the Evatt medical clinic for many years because the Doctors and nurses are very processional. However that is not the case with receptionist Marie Pardy who has also worked at the clinic for many years. In fact each time I attend the medical clinic I feel like a second class citizen. I notice Marie is nice and respectful towards the Anglo(white) patients, but when it is my turn to check in, I am greeted with a tone of annoyance and attitude that makes me feel like I’m taking up her time. I don’t know Marie and she does not know anything about me, therefore the harsh tone and attitude is unwarranted. I feel Marie is racist and rude towards me simply because of my Asian heritage. My Asian husband is also a patient at the clinic and feels that Marie talks down to him.

Last year I was informed by the nurses and Doctor at the clinic I can pick up the purchased vaccine (must be refrigerated) for my son and store it at the medical clinic to be injected later that day. When I attended the medical clinic in December Marie was not at the reception so the whole process was completed without any issues.

On 30/09/2021, it was time for my son’s third vaccine, again I took the purchased vaccine to the medical clinic to be stored and administered later that day. This was an expensive vaccine and the Pharmacist recommended I take it to the medical clinic straight away as I can’t store it in my fridge at home.
While waiting in line at the Evatt medical clinic I see Marie saying goodbye to patients with a smile as they walked out the door. But when I approached the reception to hand over the vaccine I was greeted with a blunt “NO you can’t store it here”. I explained I did this last year and was told by the nurses and Doctor I could. I also informed Marie this vaccine must be refrigerated. Without checking with any of the doctors or nurses at the clinic. Marie completely dismissed my explanation and simply said “I’ve worked here for 7 years, you can’t store it here”. Inferring her word is final. Reluctantly I took the vaccine back home filled with anxiety the vaccine could be compromised.
As a patient, I follow the directions provided by trained medical professionals. In this case, I strongly feel Marie has overstepped her role and should not have provide me with medical advice, she should have check this with a nurse or doctor before providing her unauthorized medical opinion. Which is very concerning. Later the same day the nurse at Evatt medical clinic confirmed Marie was wrong, they can store the vaccine on sight.
Because of Marie actions, if my son’s vaccine is compromised we will take legal action.
Employers should think again if you are considering hiring Marie Pardy.

I use to see a fantastic doctor down south Canberra for the better part of ten years. Sadly, due to a chronic condition that prevents my driving and having moved to this area, it is just too far to travel. So I joined up with this coop and went along for my first appointment. As required, I booked in with the nurse and then a long appointment with the doctor. Just had the appointments. I am writing off the joining fee and will look for another surgery.

The nurse was lovely. I went in with a typed medical history listing major events, other health issues, medication and why I was going to the doctor. Went through it all with the nurse who asked many questions and entered it into the computer. The nurse also took my blood pressure and temperature.

Then I saw the doctor. The doctor appeared completely disinterested. I gave the doctor the same background paper. Under the heading medical requests there were 4 typed items (No 1 was annual health check and the others were requests for 3 referrals). It also had a handwritten notation (finger) regarding a recent injury. The doctor asked me what I wanted. I repeated what was on the background paper and said it was on it. Surprisingly, I then went through my history again. Although the nurse had taken a complete history, the Doctor asked a few similar questions and typed away for ages.

The doctor then asked what I wanted. I again repeated what was on the sheet held by the doctor. The doctor then typed up the referrals. Note that the names of two of the specialists was on the background paper and the doctor referred to it when typing. That I was there for an annual health check was literally above the name of one. When finished, the doctor asked if there was anything else. At that point I just gave up.

So, at the end of two medical sessions billed as long rather than standard, I had provided my medical history in writing, gone through it twice with a nurse and doctor, and received three referrals. The nurse took my blood pressure and temperature. The doctor, despite being told twice, and also in writing, that I was there for my annual health check, never even picked up a stethoscope, let alone conduct any type of physical examination.

I recently left negative feedback for this clinic privately through their feedback section on website explaining how I was treated very poorly. I explained I had been given false information and incorrect scripts. I explained how the doctors were extremely disinterested and were always undermining my problems
and not acknowledging pbs medications. Two weeks later I received a letter in the mail saying “Considering the details of your feedback, I have now marked your file with a note stating that you should no longer be booked with any of our doctors currently practicing at Evatt Clinic”. I explained how badly I was treated and their “solution” was to not allow me to see ANY of the doctors at this location. That is a perfect example of how you will be treated if you attend this clinic.

I normally don't have an issue with any of the locations. However yesterday at Evatt that all changed. I had a lump on my lower left lip and had it removed. During the follow up appointment I advised that it had grown back. So I had to have it removed again and was given 2 options and book in ASAP as it was bigger this time around. I made the appointment for yesterday. I was asked how I had booked. I said online only to be told that I was also meant to have booked the nurse so had to call up to do that (I was never advised of this during the follow up appointment). So it's now time for the procedure and I advised that I didn't want stitches due to my guinea pigs trying to take the stitches out (they get picked up on a daily basis to go outside for a couple of hours). I was then told to be smarter than them and as I was trying to explain things I was interrupted and ended up having the stitches. I'm not impressed with the doctor that did this. I will not be going back to see him once he removes the stitches

I always feel like the doctors here are so disinterested, i basically only go there now for referalls to specialist that actually know what they are talking about. It feels as if im just a number. I always have to do research for what i need to discuss as different issues have been brushed off as of it was nothing.... Those "nothing" issues have landed me in hospital. I have absolutely no trust in these so called health professionals.
