The Maitre D took great care of us: making excellent suggestions, following our dish preferences. Helped us have an excellent dining experience. Excellent value for excellent quality food.

The Paneer Butter Masala is good. I preferred the butter naan more than the garlic naan. It did satisfy my Indian cuisine craving 😋

The vegetable and beef samosas were great. We had Chicken Korma and Chicken Tandoori for mains, both excellent. Great that rice comes with mains. The sauce has a vinegar taste, personally I don't like. Overall great.

Fantastic food and service and at a very reasonable price. My go to hole-in-the-wall indian restaurant whenever I have the misfortune of visiting Canberra.

Wish I could put more than 5 stars. This is some of the best Indian food I've ever had and the food was only surpassed by the amazing service we received from the owner. It was an absolute delight to sit in this establishment. While there wasn't a huge crowd when we went, the atmosphere was warm and cozy.

We were told that the restaurant had been around for almost 50 years and its not hard to see why.

This place is a true gem of Canberra and must-visit for anyone who has not been.

A hidden gem! Upstairs past a plain door, but inside is a beautiful authentic Indian restaurant. Staff were friendly, great menu, and everything we ordered was spot on, delicious and fresh. Definitely recommend 👌

It’s such a hidden gem behind all the stairs, don’t let the entrance fool you. Food is amazing! I like the interior decoration, it has a certain charm to it. Lamb madras is probably the best I’ve had so far in Australia. Excellent services as well with this price point, better than some of the posh places.

Walk up a flight of stairs and you arrive at a very good Indian restaurant in Canberra. Unpretentious. Freshly prepared food that may seem to take a little longer to arrive at your table after ordering but well worth the wait. Patience here is a virtue.

Cozy little Indian restaurant located in Melbourne building, canberra city. Food and service, 10 out of 10. Love the atmosphere and vibe in their restaurant. All curries come with fluffy basmati rice but we ordered their naan bread as they are too good! Garlic naan is to die for! Tandoori chicken and the green sauce (might be mint) was incredible too! To finish, we had a spiced tea and an Irish coffee. Both are superb!

My first time at this legendary restaurant and it was sensational. Delicious samosas with amazing flaky pastry. I loved the range of breads on the menu and I tried the chapatis and naan - they were excellent. We enjoyed the tasty vegetarian paneer and kofta. A couple of different Indian beers to try too. Attentive and friendly service. Great value. Highly recommended.

This warm, friendly, family-owned restaurant was a joy to dine in. The staff are friendly; Auntie is the head chef and we were served by her charming niece. The food is excellent in quality and taste. Auntie has owned this restaurant since the ‘60s, and obviously, it has lasted this long due to the quality of the food and service.

Chose this restaurant based on its reviews and yes, they were all correct! 10/10 The food was spectacular (Malai prawn curry was the bomb) our waitress was knowledgeable, polite and friendly. The restaurant decor itself was a little outdated, but as we sat and enjoyed our meal it kind of grew on us and in the end we concluded that the food was so good that we could easily overlook all the red velvet! Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back to Canberra for this little gem of a restaurant.

The place looked a bit dated doggy at the start. But the place was a 5-star with wonderful sitting arrangements. The vibe was nice, so was the food.. the front staff was amazing and very hard working. The price was reasonable . Best parking was in the paid parking for which i paid only 3$ .

I had a lovely night. The food was good and reasonably priced. The service was great. I liked the cozier, darker atmosphere that felt more intimate than other restaurants.

Cannot recommend this place enough! Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food was fresh, fragrant, and very tasty. The atmosphere was really lovely as well. Super reasonably priced, and would definitely eat here all the time if we were locals…! Looking forward to coming back when we’re next in Canberra.
