Neilson Park

This is a pretty park to stop and stretch your legs. Situated by the river, this park has a fun playground for kids to enjoy with some cool equipment to play on. The toilets are also nearby which is perfect. The toilets are clean and tidy with plenty of toilet paper and soap.

A beautiful park, especially in autumn and a delightful place to take your dog for a quick walk when passing through. There were a few benches, a well and some signs around the park, and it was lovely walking through here with a coffee and snack from the nearby town. Definitely one of the better parks to stretch your legs from a long drive here.

A delightful, shady park with tables, seats, playground etc. Useful lunch stop venue for travellers passing through Coonabarabran. Just over a block away from the BEST bakery. Walk up to buy lunch and then eat near the river. There is also an open, riverside walk under the highway towards Woolworths (also about a block away) with exercise "toys" along it.

The park is beside Castlereagh River. Access via Essex St, a one way street. Turn off John St/Newell Hwy just before the southern side of the bridge. Ample parking for long vehicles with a few shady spots. The park has a mixture of covered and open tables and an electric BBQ is available. Toilets and a baby change room is also here.

Great playground and some of the cleanest and nicest park public toilets I've ever used.

The local geese are very friendly happily letting my toddler herd them around the park.

Very clean, well maintained. Good park for little kids. Shade, free bbq's, plenty of shades tables for picnics. A great place to stop.

Gorgeous little park for a rest when on a road trip. The trees are wonderful and picturesque, especially when you visit in Autumn. Boys loved playing in the fallen leaves.
The local geese are a welcome distraction.

Kids had a great time in the playground. They were a bit disappounted not to see the ducks, etc that were there the last time I visited.

We bought a coffee and a home made cheese burger ( 100 % on Mecca's any day) from the local servo.

Went to this park. Watched the Darling River meander slowly.
