Great little pub, hidden away off the beaten track in Albany. Well worth seeking out, they have a good range of beer (English imported as well) and the food is top notch. Enjoyed an evening of Old Peculiar with a Crispy Skin Salmon side course 😉. Let’s face it, I come here because they sell English beer, the food as an added bonus 👍🏻

We had a great time here! Awesome food, super friendly service and a very relaxed English pub style atmosphere. The food servings were very generous and the beef and ale pie was insane! Definitely worth checking out if you're in Albany.

The Earl of Spencer is marvellously located as Albany has a fantastic climate for a traditional British pub. With pie and pint deals, British flags, pictures of the Queen, charming service and a lively atmosphere this is a lovely way to hide from the rain and cold and feel amongst friends. I would recommend booking as they do sometimes fill up, but you can always try your luck as well.

Wow, what a great pub. We almost got inside last time we were there but due it being one of the pubs hosting the Sea Shanty festival it was packed so we listened from the street and hatched plans for a return. Well we made it back there 4mths later on a Sunday afternoon.. great atmosphere and decor. Friendly staff and even though they were under the pump extremely efficient..
Food that we had was delicious, decent quality and fair portions..
Now the stand out was Rodger (guy singing and playing guitar) what a master on guitar. Played some old favourites including Dire Straits and Paul Kelly etc. now, have you ever heard anyone play the Dr Who theme on guitar or Johann Sebastian Bach, well Rodger can and with skill and ability. Worth trying to see him play anywhere..
Yep we will be back 😎

10/10 - By far the best pub in Albany, if not Australia! $33 for a pie, chips, pint & a kids Bangers & mash and it was bloody delicious!
To top it off, very friendly helpful staff and a great atmosphere - if you’re here reading the reviews thinking ‘should I go?’ - do it, you won’t regret it.. but i recommend booking well in advance, it’s a very popular pub

Really charming historic pub. The sign says ‘established in 1884’ and it has the character to prove it. We ended up with the best seat in the house on a cold windy evening, right in front of the fire. I opted for the ‘Pie and Pint’; a beef and ale pie, with a voucher for a pint from the bar. I picked their house brew, ‘The Earl and Wilson’, and really enjoyed the combo. Lastly I topped it off with a poached pear. Staff were friendly and the service was efficient. Looking forward to my next visit!

What a gem this place is, great beers, great food, great cosy pub vibe, great service 👍 went there for lunch and had bangers and mash. Then ended up there again for dinner. I had the pork ribs, my mate had a burger, both were brilliant 👏 there were 3 fire places burning 🔥 away. It was refreshing to go somewhere that cared about good old fashioned service. Well done 👏 ✔ 👍

Charming British themed old pub in Albany. Arrived for a late Thursday meal, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Had the beef pie and chicken parmi, both very tasty and exceeded expectations. Would definitely come again and recommend!

Quick dinner at 5.30pm. The food was succulent and "fall-of-the-bone"! 🎤⬇
Seriously best ribs and pub chips ever in Albany! Definitely book in advance! Good for families. Our kids with Autism needed time outside as the music was tad loud and too close to other diners but they did well to cope.

Charming little pub/bistro just slightly off the main drag: handy location and plenty of parking.

Very good selection of beers and spirits. (I didn't check the wine list.) I had the bangers and mash one night, and fish and chips a few days later.

Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff who functioned professionally and with good humour when the place filled up with a boisterous crowd for the Albany International Folk 'N Shanty Festival. Brilliantly appropriate venue with its old world feel which provided a great atmosphere for performances.

A top spot which I'll be returning to next time I'm in town.

It is a small, cute place that quickly gets very busy! Service was quick and friendly despite this. We had the parmi and pint for $31 and the parmi was moist and not too big! Would definitely come back

This is now the best pub in Albany, after being run down for some time,December 2018 new owners have taken over and they have experience and know what you want and how to make you happy.
This is now clean and fresh refurbished interior , indoor and outdoor seating available.
Great food menu to choose from come in good size portions., Awesome beer and wine. Lots of local wine too.
All reasonably priced, served by friendly staff.
Central location, safe, family friendly atmosphere ( no drunken idiots ) with live music to listen to.
Loads of parking within plus off street parking.
Highly recommend this place

What a great place. Despite being mega busy they squeezed us in for a meal. The meal deal was great with a pint included. Even better and a nice surprise were the kids meals were free! Not just some nuggets and oven chips, but a proper small Parmie. Enough to fill my 11yo.
Service was with a smile, a great atmosphere and delicious food! Would recommend to everyone, but book ahead!

Fantastic English pub, cold beers, friendly and fast service, delicious food. One of the best parmis had anywhere and the fish and chips was crunchy, light batter and delicious. There's a fireplace and a couch for laid back pints. The barman even agreed to make this ding dong an espresso Martini even though he was the only one on. I would have told her to gf-ed.
