Chapter & Verse Bar and Lounge

We had a wonderful high tea at Chapter and Verse. It's a very competitive price compared to other options on the Gold Coast, the food was all absolutely delicious and they catered well to a variety of dietary requirements. The staff were lovely and service was excellent - our glasses were always full, they made Mum feel very special on her birthday by singing and bringing out a special birthday plate, and we were made to feel as though we could stay as long as we wanted. Highly recommend!

Comfortable atmosphere with good food and drinks. The JW Burger was tasty (fries lacked flavor and were so-so). Yellowtail Kingfish Ceviche had a nice tangy dressing - very Thai like flavors. Freshly brewed unsweetened iced tea made at the bar hit the spot. Resort prices so charge to the room and leave it at that. Service was attentive and friendly.

The absolute best high tea; easily the best on the GC. Natasha always makes it a lovely experience, can’t recommend it enough

We went for high tea and were not disappointed. The staff were accommodating and so friendly they were making rounds frequently to make sure everyone was happy and getting what they ordered. It's been a long time since we've had an outing like that and it can be a bit daunting with a 16 month old but she seemed to enjoy it too and one of the staff at the end even packed her leftover snacks so we could take it, without being asked!!! We had the nicest high tea arrangement and probably ordered more then necessary but it was all delicious! We were full till dinner! It's a very pretty place to sit and enjoy your food and drink as it is located in the Marriott, would definitely want to stay there some time and when we are up visiting the Goldcoast will make chapter and verse our regular brunch or lunch destination!

We enjoyed a beautiful High Tea experience at Chapter and Verse in the Marriott Gold Coast.
My daughter enjoyed the children's high tea while I had a pescatarian option and our guest had a standard high tea. The food was absolutely delicious!
We had excellent service from every staff member we encountered but especially from Dusica who ensured we had everything we needed.
We had a table outside and there was a lovely breeze that kept us comfortable on a very hot day. There is also an option to sit inside where it is air-conditioned.
The price is reasonable when compared with similar high tea offerings at other venues.
I would return to Chapter and Verse in the future!

Great little bar inside the Marriott. Service was excellent and the pizzas were very good and had generous amounts of the key ingredient. Bonus for having Asahi Dry Black on the beer menu!!

Situated in the JW Marriott pool side, this is a great spot to listen to music, smash a couple of cocktails and enjoy a nice bar meal. We had the calamari and the truffle arancini balls. The calamari was melt in the mouth and sooo good. The arancini was another great dish and the truffle aioli hits the spot. The highlight for us was the live music with a chap playing some great covers. Very cool spot to hit especially when you first arrive at the resort after a long flight.

We stayed in the Gold Coast for 2 weeks and visited Chapter and Verse almost every day.
The atmosphere and the food was delightful but what brought us back time and time again was the service.
The staff were exceptional, and we were grateful for the friendliness, exceptional attention to detail and wonderful humour and kindness of the staff.
Thank you, Chapter and Verse, for providing such a wonderful space for our honeymoon. Grateful to have found you, and we look forward to coming back when we visit the Gold Coast again!

Lovely high tea here and a fantastic range of cocktails, service was superb, reasonably priced and fantastic views of the hotel pool

We were there for a High Tea to celebrate a friend's birthday. The moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted by a friendly attendant who read our body language perfectly and pointed us to the Chapter & Verse Bar. We were offered seats to wait for our party which soon arrived.

The complimentary glass of wine was a surprise and a wonderful accompaniment to the delicious tiers of tantalizing delicacies which soon arrived. The scones were far above your average scone. Tea or coffee followed soon and it was a relaxing afternoon.

A waterdragon or two, which were harmless, added a touch of authentic Australia to the outdoor setting. On a hot day, I would recommend an indoor setting.

Relaxing atmosphere with great seating areas indoor & outdoors right inside JW Marriott hotel. I can really recommend the Mocha here, just delicious 😋

Cool little bar, intimate and dim-lit setting for dinner, cocktails were nice. Went here for a NYE also they put on a trendy night EoY so hoping they continue doing that as might book in again for this NYE.

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott for a couple of days for our wedding anniversary, and we very much enjoyed coming to this bar for some drinks/cocktails and food, Steven went above and beyond and gave us the best service over the couple of days, couldn't fault his work at all he is very professional and deserves a nice bonus. Being in the hospitality industry myself great workers are hard to find.
Food was delicious and so were the cocktails. Thankyou for the lovely experience

our waitress (her name sounds like milu maybe something like miliojh??) but she was very lovely and was able to facilitate our needs with a tight schedule. the food was great and we’ll presented. would definitely recommend 😊😊

Stunning fit out, Amazing cocktails and meals.
The staff are amazing and extremely professional, The service is world class.
I would like to thank our waiter Belle, She went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience, not only for us, But everyone there with out hesitation.
We will be back!
