Possum Valley Rainforest Cottages

Wonderful, relaxing and had everything we needed, from sauna and pluge pool to games room and bush walks. The cottages are rustic and have heaps of character. Possums visit (watch your fingers!) and the ducks are cool. Paul is invisible yet always available and will even drive you out if the track is slippy - benefit of 25 years doing it.
Took the kids 1 1/2 yrs and 4 1/2 yrs and we had a blast.
Highly recommend for a rustic getaway.

After excitedly negotiating an adventurous winding track through the rainforest, we arrived at an enchanted rustic wooden cottage hidden in a clearing deep in the rainforest, overlooking a long sloping lawn that leads to a georgeous little lake (dam). Brush turkeys, wallabies and a multitude of melodious tropical birds surround Maple Cottage and at night possums suddenly materialised on the verandah ready to eat the treats we offered. Inside the cottage a maze of cozy rooms delighted my grandkids - superceded only by the delightfully ramshackle games room which offered exciting old fashioned activities such as billiards, ping pong , darts and table football. Paul greeted us like old friends and showed us about. Then left us to explore. The blissful experience of being tucked away so privately, able to let the children just be themselves without disturbing anyone else, was just the balm we needed after Christmas. We are counting the days till we can return!

This possum valley is amazing. A good place to wind down away from the rush. Rustic, private and relaxing, in tune with the nature.

Certainly is rustic... But clean linen and towels were provided so you just need to make sure you pack warm socks

Great place to stay. Highly recommended. The kids loved it.

25 years between visits but Blackbean Cottage still has the same charm. It’s a rustic experience. An escape from technology and TV. If you take your dog be aware there are ducks, a pond, leeches in the rainforest and of course the possums… Take some fruit to feed them. I had a lovely three night stay. Paul kindly drove my 16 year old Corolla up the steep hill at the end of my visit.
