I had the pleasure of experiencing the enchanting Mamu Tropical Skywalk just two days ago, and it was truly a delightful adventure from start to finish. As I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by John, who stood at the bottom of the entry point, ready to share his wealth of knowledge about the forest ecosystem. His briefing not only included fascinating historical tidbits but also important safety protocols, ensuring our journey was both educational and secure.

John’s presence was nothing short of exceptional. His professionalism shone through effortlessly, yet it was his unique flair that truly made the experience unforgettable. His personal touch created an atmosphere that was not only informative but also incredibly personable. It was evident that John genuinely cares, not only for the well-being of his guests but also for the preservation of the natural wonders surrounding us.

The walk itself was beautiful, and we were lucky enough to encounter a wandering Cassowary! It can feel a little intimidating having one follow you, but as long as you respect its space and do not interfere, you’re all good. Such a magnificent creature! The views on the high podium were breathtaking :-)

I cannot recommend this experience enough—the stunning views, the knowledgeable guide, and the unforgettable encounters with wildlife make it truly remarkable. Thank you, John, for sharing your knowledge, care, and enthusiasm—it truly made all the difference.

Kind regards,
Sandra

Very nice to do! It was rainy and cloudy so the views were not perfect... I forgot the names of the staff but they were both so helpful and nice! Could tell they were passionate about what they were doing.

Absolutely one of the best rainforest experiences in Australia! There’s a lovely older couple running the place and they are just adorable. They take all the time for their guests to inform them about the do’s and don’ts during the walk. The trail itself is pretty easy. It’s a combination of a gravel path on the ground and a fabulous skywalk up between the trees. The views from the skywalk on the rainforest are unforgettable. At the end there is a tower that you can climb an from high up the views are even better. I absolutely loved Mamu! Bonus is the cassowary that is walking around. Our encounter with the giant bird was a bit scary but wouldn’t have missed it!

Thoroughly enjoyed getting back to nature at Mamu Skywalk. Staff members Rosanne and Phil were friendly and helpful, we had a great chat and they recommended other local attractions. Track was easy to walk and well maintained. Definitely makes you appreciate what we have in our natural environment.

Amazing experience. Make sure you download the app before hand “mamu skywalk”. Incredible walking amount the trees and overlooking the valley down. Well worth the cantilever viewing platform and climbing to the top of the tower!
Highly recommend.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't great when we visited but it didn't put us off. We really enjoyed reading all the information available and looking at the variety of trees and plants. There were great views to be had from the tower and walkway. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were thrilled to have spotted a cassowary sheltering in the trees during a heavy downpour. Highly recommend a visit.

Friendly staff, great walking tracks and skywalk bridges or pathways. The views from the top of the tower were magnificent, well worth the climb. The tower stairs are sturdy, strong and wide. There's a camera and two way radio for safety. Nice walk through the rain forest tree tops and a must do and see if you are thinking about doing this, helps if it is a sunny day.

We just loved this fabulous forest walk. It was so peaceful & serene. Walking so high up, rather than the forest floor, opened up a new forest experience with so many different flora & fauna to enjoy.
We arrived at about 3pm..great time as there were no crowds..enjoyed it mostly alone which was fantastic. You must climb the tower, the views are breathtaking ☺

After doing a loop of the Waterfalls in the area the Mamu Skywalk was the perfect end to the day. Paths were well maintained and the signage on the trees/shrubs were very informative and matched the booklet we received upon entry. All viewing decks has amazing views that you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else (especially the observation tower!). To top it off the staff were super lovely and helpful and gave us free bookmarks as we left. Would definitely recommend this experience to someone who enjoys both nature and Australian history, even with the $24 entry.

So glad we upgraded our paronella park photos to include this.
We took 2hours with the app (and 2 kids in tow). The tower was breathtaking! Soft toys at the office we so well priced - $9 for the small ones, $10-15 for the big ones. Half the price of elsewhere!

Never been so high in a forest in my life before but really enjoyed the experience. The 2.2 kilometer trek was hard dealing with the heat and humidity but well worth it. Highly recommend.

Beautiful way to spend an hour or two. The walk is very easy and scenery is lovely with some amazing views once you get to the catwalks. If you're not keen on heights you may want to think twice though. Some very high stops on the track.

This was a refreshing walk through rainforest, finishing with the tower 37 meters above the treetops. Views of the meandering river and rapids along with audible telling history of South Johnston area. Informative booklet on local flora and fauna. The pathway is easy to negotiate. Highly recommend this venture.

Beautiful setting, a fantastic way to see unparalleled views of the landscape and not too crowded or touristy.
While there are dirt track portions it's still very well maintained and accessible to all abilities

The friendly and accommodating staff looked after our dog while we did the track and really went above and beyond for us. I will be highly recommending mamu skywalk

The Mamu Tropical Skywalk was a great experience and I would recommend doing it. We went when it was raining. I would recommend enclosed shoes and a raincoat, they do have umbrellas you can take with you throughout the walk and return at the end.
It’s a beautiful walk and you can take your time with it, no rush. A very relaxing walk through the rainforest, probably takes about 1.5 hours all up. Since it was raining it was very musty and we couldn’t see much.

Thoughtfully constructed, with informative signs, and a world-class setting - $25 is cheap for what you get, especially on a quiet day where you can listen to the rainforest and count Ulysses butterflies.

It’s a bit odd that there’s zero information anywhere on how climate change affects the forest, but not atypical for the region.

Clearly a labour of love and a shining star of eco-tourism.

Had a beautiful time at this less commonly visited attraction in North Queensland. Just getting to the place has beautiful mountain/ farmland views. I highly suggest getting the audio guide as it reveals the people behind this place and I really felt like I got a fuller experience for having learned a little about the Mamu people who lived within this area historically. The staff were friendly and helpful but also allow you to discover it at your own pace, I really appreciate a more hands off approach to discovering a place. The views are gorgeous and I got many beautiful photos. Also they have some beautiful postcards and other keepsakes at the entrance to buy for a meager amount of money. I went in the morning just after it opened and was one of few people there, so that’s probably the best time to go. Ask for the dual ticket with Paronella park if you plan to go there as well.

We bought the Mamu Skywalk and Paronella pass and boy was it worth it. It’s a great experience to appreciate and see the well kept nature around us.

Service at Mamu was top notch. John and Lyn were absolutely lovely and fun, definitely made the whole experience 💛
