Chevron Renaissance Medical Centre

We moved to Surfers Paradise in 2020 and became new patients at this practice. I have always found the reception staff to be amazing, whether in person at the surgery or on the phone. They are kept so busy with people at the desk, phone calls and email queries and still manage to treat myself and my 92 year old mother with the utmost respect. They take a lot of unnecessary rudeness and abuse from people who have no patience and don't try to understand that they are not the only person to be attended to. The doctors we have seen are friendly but also thorough which probably explains the wait times.

We've seen Dr Seton a couple times now, and can say he is really great at what he does. The actual clinic can be a bit of a wait, but that's ok because he is always so busy dealing with a lot of patients. Highly recommend!

Doctor seton is an amazing doctor. He really listens and wants to help his patients. Of course sometimes there is a long wait time but worth it 100% and you would be waiting more in ED. Dr seton took the time to talk with me, he made me laugh and was able to change my mood completely while helping with my medical problem. Thank you so much :)

I always see negative reviews for this centre, mainly due to long wait times… but I’m not sure what people expect at a walk-in clinic? Anyway, I just needed a quick check up for a nagging sore throat so made an appointment in advance to try and cut down wait time as I could only get in on my lunch break. Turned up to find the doctor was at least an hour behind 😫 and was considering just cancelling and heading to Coles for the less effective, but more easy to access honey and lemon remedy instead. The amazing lady on reception however (Sharon - whom I had just witnessed copping some abuse for reasons I couldn’t fully overhear and whom I wouldn’t have blamed for being in a horrendous mood and not caring less about me) managed to squeeze me into an open spot with only a 10 minute wait. Dr. Geraldine was fantastic and efficient and I was in and out in 5 mins. (Full disclosure: this service had nothing yo do with “patient preference” I’ve seen complained about in other reviews - I’ve been here before and had to wait an eternity to be seen each time but, again, it’s a walk in clinic and I didn’t have an appointment for those visits so 🤷🏻‍♀ I’ve also sat at the GCUH energy waiting room for 9 hours before, so wait times are an everywhere problem these days, not just exclusive to this centre.) In terms of the actual customer service and medical diagnosis here, five full stars, for sure ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely fantastic.
Had a blocked ear that I couldn’t hear anything out of after visiting a water park while on holiday.
Walked in , within half hour I seen Dr John Wilson who flushed my ear and I could hear again.
Costs $80 but you get some back.
Highly worth the money instead of sitting around for hours on end in another practice or the hospital.

Dr. David Seton is smart as a whip . He keeps up his accreditation as a GP
through remaining up to date with the latest medical advances. He truly cares about his patients. He is always contactable. He is well respected by his colleagues. He is involved in teaching medical students. He contacts Specialists to discuss your problems before referring rather than writing a "please see" letter. For this he is much respected by his specialist colleagues.

Dr Seton is hands down the BEST doctor I have ever seen. So thorough, so informative but more importantly he is nurturing, caring and INTERESTED in you. Wish I had started my pregnancy journey with him from the start- this is the kind of care every woman needs during her journey.

My visit on a long weekend was very pleasant and helpful, waiting time was 10 mins without a booking, diagnose was quick and precise, cause was explained, medication was given along with instructions, plus expectations on the recovery.
Had to pay upfront as it was my first visit but Medicare refund was made after seeing the doctor instantly (probably get the refund back into my account before I pay the credit card).

Also, for those of you consider waiting time too long...please understand keeping the door open for 7 days a week is never easy, especially they are mostly bulk billed. Plus medical centre's customer service is / should never be based on the waiting time. If the patient needs the time, doctor should make sure they listen and do their job right. Some patients have more complications than others, please be considerate.

Hats off to those work hard (all year round) for others!

Great for some of our staff, myself included writing this review. Just go and put your name down to see a doctor ASK the receptionist what time they think you should come back and GO back at that time and you are in without much of a wait, if you have no patience the when you come back give your name and ask how the time slot is working. The receptionists ARE helpful even under the pressure of phone calls, sick people who often come in cranky they still manage to wear a smile. I have never had a bad experience EVER and have been there over a dozen times

If you want to be looked after by the best then you have to see Elle at reception for the most welcoming smile, prompt service and making you feel like you're the most important person in the world. She's amazing, so is Andy who equally takes her time to always say hello and welcome anyone from our family, even when she's flat out busy with other patients. And then there's of course Dr Seton who cannot do enough for us. We have 3 children and never had a family doctor until our kids were in their teens. That was when we met Dr David Seton and his staff. Once we discovered these amazing professionals we knew we were in good hands and they have been at our service now for over 10years. They honestly make you feel more like friends or family rather than just a patient. Thanks Elle, Andy and David for always making us feel like you are happy to see us. You're the best by far. No one else comes close xxx

I became unwell while on holiday and early morning googling had me find Chevron renaissance medical centre. I arrived at 8 am when they opened for a walk in appointment and was seen within 10 minutes. Dr Seton was kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. Even though I’m not feeling well I couldn’t fault my experience. The adjacent chemist where lovely and helpful as well. Thank you to all the staff at Chevron for doing outstanding work.

I am overjoyed that I have found such a perceptive, intelligent and caring Doctor on the Gold Coast. After relocating from Sydney I was dreading the experience of finding another GP as starting from scratch and building new relationships can take time to establish after my own GP had recently retired. Thankfully, Dr Geralize Schoeman was recommended to me by a friend. I could not be happier to transition into the care of Dr Geralize Schoeman and cannot be appreciative enough for the recommendation. I highly recommend her. The reception staff were fantastic also even though they were very busy and Vanessa from Pathology was also amazing. Thank You!

This is a bulk billing, walk-in doctors surgery that opens early & closes late. For the people that complain about waiting....maybe try making an appointment somewhere else & stop complaining. Dr. Seton is just amazing! After countless doctors that just medicate & dismiss; I found this amazing doctor that actually cares about his patients. The lovely reception staff are polite & flat out all the time; poor things. Hat off to you girls! Overall- 5 stars because this is a little gem with great doctors. Just have a little patience when you're there.

I have seen Dr Seaton for many years now and there is not one better G.P in Australia. He is always on top of any issue and nothing is a problem. He does not flick you off, even when he is busy. He is down to earth and approachable, especially for a woman. This clinic is ethical and bulk bills as should every clinic in Australia.

Dr Seaton is the best doctor I have ever had. I am so happy I came across him! My experience at Chevron Renaissance has always been easy and professional. Thanks Dr Seaton for being so caring! Highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of coming to Chevron Renaissance Medical whilst being on a quick holiday and have to say that if you are looking for a medical centre that you can be seen straight away with no appointment then this is your place to go ! The receptionists are so friendly and welcoming and the doctors are very helpful and attentive. It is a busy clinic but I can see why as it’s hard to get in to many doctors last minute. Thank you

They say all good things take time. If you want the best and thorough care then this is the place. Dr Seaton should be crowned best doctor for parents n kids. Well worth the wait. Has been our family doctor forever.

My daughters and I have been a patient of Dr Seton’s since he first started practicing in QLD. Highly recommend.

Welcoming, very receptive receptionist and David the Doctor was very thorough in his checking. Waiting time is very reasonable for walk-ins (No prior booking). Great amd central location and convenient opening hours. Free Wifi and parking up to 2 hours in the basement.(No supermarket purchase required). Pharmacy is also right next door for prescriptions.
