An outstanding experience - this privilege is given only to those who are fortunate enough to stay at The Anchorage as the restaurant during this pandemic is not open to general public. We planned our stay to ensure we were staying when the restaurant is open (Thurs to Sat only). A set price for a 3 course menu with limited choices but everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Awarded best regional restaurant - I concur with this! Seafood was fresh and cooking methods used allowed the seafood to shine and none of the sauces and spices used overpowered. Service was exemplary by professional staff. greagregreexperience

Compliments to the chef! Worth every penny. Absolute best meal we've had in a long time. Amazing produce, every dish was cooked to perfection. Beautiful modern establishment and a great service experience. We could overhear all the other guests singing the same praises. Perfect place for a special occasion.

Visited on Saturday 10th Sept

We were provided a complimentary dish with bread n butter. He spoke too fast, so didn't get the name of the dish. It was some sort of seafood.

We did two course each as we were too full to have dessert, which was very disappointing.

We had the Tuna, Trevalla, Kingfish and Prawn Linguini with a side of Tempura Broccolini.

Tuna was soft and tender and melts in the mouth.

Trevalla, the fish is very flaky and the sauce brings out the freshness of the fish itself.

Kingfish was cooked to perfection. The skin was crunchy and wasn't too dry.

The Prawn Linguini pasta was "cooked to al dente". Very creamy sauce and prawns was juicy and cooked perfectly.

We had a very attentive service as provided by the female waitress, unfortunately they seem to be short staffed as our finished dishes took awhile to be removed.

There was a dress code for this fine dining, but we've seen one guy in a t shirt and shorts and sandals. Not only was he disrespecting the restaurant, but also himself. They should refused him entry. If he lived at the resort, he should have been asked to go back and get changed into something more appropriate.

We had the seared scallops, snapper fillet and blue eye trevalla. All three dishes were cooked to perfection! The desserts were slightly disappointing.

Start of the eve started mediocre with poor service but thankfully the waitress Leah took over! Look, the wine was really good but to be completely honest. Outside the wine and service from Leah, the food was extremely disappointing. I usually don’t write reviews and working within hospitality, I really feel for businesses after covid. However, the food was so disappointing I cannot help but be honest. The fish we ordered for starter and main were ok cooked (slightly over) but we literally received potato purée that could have passed for glue. Anyways, I unfortunately don’t understand how this could be one of the best seafood restaurant in NSW. :(

Food is really great but service is bad. Made me feel bad for the kitchen staff as the food is top quality and the service does not match at all. There were very few tables when we were there as it was post COVID-19 reopening but even then the waiters put the wines and water on the table without even opening it let alone pouring it or giving a taster. A lot of very standard aspects missing from service and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but got to be a few too many. If they can train some staff on restaurant service it would be a great restaurant as the food is really 5 star, particularly the tortellini.

The food was delicious however service was terrible and there was an uncomfortable ambiance with an overly bright room and no music.
