little trip up to rye found this hidden gem. food and presentation is fantastic. I didn't even know it was vegan till I saw some of the other reviews. differently worth a visit for breakfast if you doing a Mornington trip.

While on holiday from Perth, I looked up local vegan cafes that were off the highway traveling back to Melbourne from Mornington Peninsula. My expectations for vegan meals is low when I eat out as I'm often disappointed. I don't know what I did right in a past life but I found this gem of a café.

The scrambled tofu is the best I have ever tasted. It smelled and tasted like eggs but without the guilt of any animals being harmed making this dish. Presentation was added to the experience. The pancakes were so yummy. Took me back to my childhood eating my father's pancakes. Those are still the people's champion's of pancakes but this comes a close second. Strawberries and coconut vanilla ice cream are the perfect topping for the stack of pancakes.

The ladies that run this café are so lovely. The service was first rate and I felt at home enjoy this feast and a flat white. I wish that there was a café like this in Perth. They even gave me tips on making scrambled tofu like this at the home.

Please be good to your taste buds and give this café a go. You won't regret it.

Amazing place, what a great find, wish we had more places like this around. Awesome food, suggest DON’T have the coffee before the meal….!! I had the Schnity Roll, was lovely and so filling. ALSO, the best coffee I’ve had for a while….wish I lived closer😀

The food tastes so good! My husband and I were shocked and delighted. I loved it! Wish we lived closer and could come back and eat here all the time! Highly recommend!

The pancakes were fluffy and golden, the hazelnut bar had a rich, nutty flavor, and the chocolate milkshake was creamy and indulgent. Overall, a delicious experience.

Good vegan food and drinks at a reasonable price. Our go-to destination when Peninsula bound.
Some people are happy to be there -others not so much 😀

Wow! Amazing food. A definite pit stop if you’re heading up to the peninsula or just want to go for weekend drive for a decent meal. Serving size and price were great, sometimes you can get small serves of vegan food at some places but the servings were generous with no loss of quality at all. Very filling! Friendly staff and a laid back vibe. A great experience. Options for dessert- small cakes and muffins.

Lovely nicely set out semi hipster vegan cafe. Superb oat milk coffee here. Delicious. The joy ball and apricot ball were amazing to snack on as well. Our main course dishes were exceptional as well. Lovely service here too. This is a really good well run cafe.

A lovely cafe with super friendly staff and quick service. I like the interior design, very clean and bright. Excellent coffee. Lovely vegan meals with great flavours, and great portion for its price. There are also some nice outdoor seatings at the front.

The best vegan cafe I have ever eaten at! The staff were all super nice and the food was delicious. I loved the range of different plant milk to chose from. Not the larges shop size but they use the space incredibly. As well as the fantastic food, the cute products for sale added a nice touch.

Five stars isn’t nearly enough for the fabulous Wombat Café. I keep coming back for not only the standard menu items, but for the superb range of specials each day. Bec and her crew are super friendly and if you’re lucky enough to live nearby and be a regular then they make you feel like one of their family!

I had the most amazing banana & chocolate bread, a delicious raspberry muffin & a great cauliflower pie. Really blown away how beautiful the cafe is, as well as the spot it’s located in! Can’t wait to come back…..

Love come here with my wife to eat yummy vegan/plant based food.
We always have such nice food and coffee and leave feeling happy with the vibe/service we have had.

Only thing I’d say is when ordering food people push in because they don’t know where to stand to order. Food for thought.

Popped in for an early lunch not even realising it was a vegan cafe until they advised me that "regular milk was not an option". No complaints here as we can always do with balance in life. Delicious food with the cashew based cheeses being highlights, great vibe and friendly staff mean we would definitely go back again if in the area

We love this all vegan cafe, the food is delicious. Lovely setting and atmosphere it is a must try if you are looking for vegan on the Mornington Peninsula.

warm and welcoming atmosphere. staff is very friendly. great pancake ever!!! never thought vegan pancake can be this incredibly delicious.

Phenomenal food and exceptional/friendly service. Beautiful and clean interior. We had the burrito, hot dog and quinoa salad. All super flavourful and thought out ingredients. The hotdog was my favourite, all of the sauces, cheese and sauerkraut was to die for! Left feeling full and happy! We were able to sit outside in the sun on the comfortable seating area. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Huge servings and very tasty. Slightly more expensive than a normal cafe, but the servings are big, the food is vegan, and they seem to make an effort to be organic and high quality ingredients. Would have liked if the smoothie was bigger though. Servings are generally quite good tho, for example pancake stack the pancakes are mega thick.

Great vegan cafe , heaps of options for sweet and savoury with heat up meals to take home. Loved the toastie I had, gingerbread latte a bit too strong for me but that’s just my personal preference :)

We aren’t local to the area otherwise we’d be back again !
