Alexandra Hotel

We stayed at the Alexandra Hotel and fair to say it was an awesome experience. Chris and Suse were so welcoming and friendly. The space was clean and very homely. We had dinner and drinks, food was great. I suggest the Parma. The atmosphere was great. Next time I’m driving through i will definitely be coming back. Thanks for the lovely stay and dinner! See you next time.

This sweet hotel in Alex is the place to stay. Good value clean rooms in a lovely little town.
If cycling also has a lock up bike cage which is useful

The location at the centre of town was excellent, and the friendliness of the new owners Chris and Suzanna made us feel very welcome. The rooms were very well designed with many little touches which again made us think that a lot of care and consideration was put into designing them. A lovely place to stay and highly recommended.

All the charm of a grand old Aussie pub, freshly updated and great location. We stayed two nights, ate at the restaurant both nights, and enjoyed the country hospitality.

My wife and I undertook the Great Victorian Rail Trail in winter and to arrive at the Alexander Hotel was wonderful. The room was beautiful and cosy, the service friendly and the food delicious. Not a huge menu choice (being a Wednesday) but this was not a problem with ample options (including great wine list) enough to satisfy us after a day of winter riding. Lots of friendly, sustainable touches in our room made it special. Our bikes we’re secured overnight for us and we appreciated helpful local knowledge and tips. Thank you Jackie and the team.

Great place to stay. The staff were lovely. Beautiful building with lots of character. My room was very clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the bike storage facilities. I didn't get a chance to try the food but it looked great. Hope to come back again soon.

We really enjoyed staying here. The room was comfortable and very clean. We felt very welcomed by owners. We also dinner in the restaurant. The meals were very good and the atmosphere in the dining room was relaxed. There is a lovely courtyard at the back where I enjoyed as quiet Sunday morning coffee. This old hotel has been beautifully restored, keeping it's old features and quirky style. Loved it.

A beautifully restored hotel, its clear the owners have put a lot of love and attention to detail into the rooms and dining areas. The room was well appointed and tastefully decorated with a super comfortable bed. We also book in for dinner and were lucky to experience the New Year Eve's menu and it was well worth it. The quality and presentation of the food was great along with the carefully chosen wine selection. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

The Alexandra hotel is pretty cool. The hotels renovation is beautiful with so many little touches that I really appreciated. The room was gorgeous and had everything I needed for a overnight stay and super comfortable. Loved sitting on the veranda enjoying a few drinks chatting to other travellers. The restaurant wasn’t opened on the night I stayed, next visit maybe. The location is right in town no need for a car.

My partner and I booked in for an overnight stay and dinner in April. Both were exceptional. The decor is eclectic, beautiful and very welcoming. Our room, number 4, although small was delightful and very comfortable. Our dinner was incredible, and the staff throughout our whole stay were welcoming and friendly.
I would highly recommend this place. This is our second stay and we will definitely be back for a third.

What a gem. Staying for work a couple of nights and was really impressed with the quality and all the little touches and offerings.
Everything is set out with care. It's like no other typical hotel motel.
The single is small but enough for one person or a couple. Plenty of communal area to sit and use shared facilities while also having an ensuite.
The bed was extremely comfy!
I loved the big old balcony where you could sit with a cool drink.
The only thing I didn't like that I only stayed till Wednesday and couldn't experience the pub and food itself. But I got an amazing smell on the Tuesday of the chef cooking up preparing for the next days meals !!
I'll definitely be back with the other half to enjoy when not for work.

Great place to stay in Alexandra - have stayed there a couple of times when up fishing. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Excellent soaps/shampoo etc provided are very good quality. Love the large towels/bathsheets as well. A visit to the restaurant is a must - such good food. Highly recommend when in the area.

Didn't stay overnight but dinner was superb. Very attentive service, great food choices (even for the vegan). Excellent wine list. Award winning business run by very capable staff.

Beautiful rooms, great food and friendly service. Loved the atmosphere of the whole place. Sadly we didn’t catch the name of the manager who looked after us but she made our stay lovely - genuine kindness to guests and staff. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are so beautifully decorated giving a mix of modern and old world charm. So much thought has gone into everything. Jackie & Pat you are doing a fabulous job, supporting local produce and cooking up a storm. We had the most delicious dinner, melt in your mouth lamb, beef and chicken. The service was outstanding and the hosts are just delightful. We also had breakfast in the morning, eggs how you like them and all the add-ons like bacon mushroom and avocado - and the coffee is fabulous - just a great way to start the day. Highly recommend this place - would definitely come back.
