Such a beautiful and touching memorial.
Maintained and kept pristine,Set in such a beautiful quiet place overlooking the water.
The walk has some touching readings and tributes.
You can't help but walk and read with a lump in your throat, paying respect for all that lost their lives in Afghanistan.
There is also has a tribute book to leave a message at the end of the walk.
Absolutely worth a visit!

A brilliant tribute to the forces and animals that helped. I enjoyed the walk and reading all the information. The path is flat and east to walk sat down near the lake and had morning tea. Clean toilets.

A truly remarkable experience...very humbling and informative. An absolute beautiful monument dedicated to all those men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that we, as Australian, get to live the life we live. As a person who has a family member in active military service, i encourage anyone looking to visit to put it on their list of things to do if you're ever travelling north....

What a fantastic thing to do❤. It is so nicely done, the monument and the pathways etc. Everyone should leave a donation to keep this maintained. Private Chuck Ryan was killed in Afganastan in 2010, and his parents Susan and Gordon, had a vision after an Anzac ceremony, and with help from the community, the avenue was put into reality. My heart goes out to them all who have lost❤🙏🌹

While this Memorial is one of the most recent to be established in Australia, it doesn't detract from how peaceful and moving it is. Well worth a visit if you want to picnic nearby or spend quiet reflection on those who have died for our nation.

On the banks of Tinaroo dam, Tinaburra. Conceived by a local family after the loss of their son in Afghanistan. Well worth the walk along the path of remberance.

Stirs up emotions for people you have never met but are grateful for their sacrifice. Thanks to the family who thought of a very fitting way to honour their son and all those that lived in the area

Aside from the natural beauty of the area, this beautifully designed installation is a place that honours and respects the brave young Australians who serviced in the ongoing Middle Eastern conflicts and made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our values and way of life.

Every minute I spent walking this avenue and reading the plaques I was filled with emotions of gratitude and sadness.
An amazing place that reminded me of the sacrifice our young heroes made for our freedom.

Love this place, always visit when we go to Yungaburra. Very serene, great tribute to our men in the ADF.
I wonder how they're feeling now after Kabul capitulation.

Stumbled upon this soot after following the signs not knowing what it was. A stunning tribute and spot for reflection - there was also a plaque remembering the fallen service dogs.

It is great to see how well established the gardens and trees have become - a lovely place of respect - ex service personnel from Cooktown appreciate the respect, reverence and honour of our fallen. RIP
