We stayed here about a month ago and loved every second. The carriage is incredibly charming and comfortable with everything you could need for a short stay. The chickens are friendly and curious, some will come right up and sit next to you.
The service was also amazing. Reneé went out of her way to make our anniversary special by providing flowers and fresh eggs.
I will absolutely be back again.

We had an amazing stay at the Chalet. We loved the decorations and the history and stories behind them. The grounds are spectacular and tranquil. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. Thank you so much Renee and Glenn, we will definitely be back. We are keen to stay at the railway carriage too! And thank you Renee for finding my phone charger, can't believe I forgot it 😂

This is one of our favourite places we’ve ever stayed in, and we’ve stayed in a lot of different places! We were here for only one night and wish we stayed longer so we could have explored some of the nearby trails.

It’s a very unique place to rent, you won’t find many others like it; it was like staying in a piece of history (because that’s exactly what you’re doing!) We really appreciated the information displayed about the train's history presented on the walls; it felt like we were in a museum but with the added privilege of staying privately in it. It also felt roomier than we would have expected. The newer additions to the train car interior integrated quite nicely with the original parts of the train. A lot of attention to detail was made, you can really sense how much care was taken to restore and maintain it. I thought the bathroom sink was so cool! Basically you fill up the basin with water, then flip it up to close, and the water drains out the back.

The hosts were very warm and friendly, plus there are some chickens roaming around you can feed with the provided bird feed. We also couldn't help but think how perfect it would have been to play the board game “Ticket to Ride’ here!

For visitors I would suggest spending at least a few nights here so you can explore the trails. The train car kitchen has everything you’ll need, but make sure to bring enough groceries since it’s a steep drive up the mountain and you won’t want to drive too far away once you’re here.

The carriage is absolutely gorgeous- it has been lovingly restored and was a very special place for my husband and I to spend New Year’s Eve.

The location is so peaceful. The only sounds you hear are the birds calling, and also the hungry chickens visiting for afternoon tea!

Glenn was a very friendly and relaxed host, and great at confirming details and answering queries prior to our arrival.

I most definitely recommend a stay to anyone looking for a unique and peaceful getaway.

The most relaxing trip away from the hustle and bustle.
Beautiful mountain surrounds.
Renee and Glen were the most welcoming hosts.
The train carriage itself was a credit to their family with all the workmanship that has been put into restoring it.
Made friends with the wildlife, very friendly.
Would highly recommend this as a get away .

We recently stayed in the chalet for a weekend and really didn’t want to leave the peace and tranquility. It’s the perfect location to rest and unwind. Renee and Glenn we’re the perfect hosts, providing us with lots of local information and introduced us to the game of frisbee golf on the property which was great fun. They also showed us the Railway Carriage prior to other guests arriving which was stunning and authentic. The icing on the cake was their beautiful dog Ollie who’s more than happy to interact you if you’re a dog lover which we are.

We stayed for 1 night at Glenn's Mt Nebo Railway Carriage. The space is incredible! The pictures do not do it justice - a restored train carriage w working windows, incredible bathroom, well appointed kitchenette, lovely details and a fabulous deck overlooking a picturesque dam. We enjoyed w watching the birds fly in, a visit from his chooks, peace and quiet, local bush walks and the cooler weather. Many thanks, we will definitely be back!

Wonderful quiet, peaceful few days spent in the chalet! Loved the quirky upcycle art around the property. Next time I will try the Disc Golf!
Glenn and Renée were great hosts. I had a lovely walk in Boombana Nation Park.

Step back in time with this incredible rail carriage stay! Original compartments and benches with a fully equipped wee kitchen, bathroom with a fold up sink and a fabulously comfortable bedroom! The conversion is amazing, Glen was wonderful and the birds were stunning. Feels like you are a million miles from Brisbane! You gotta try this!

We loved each and every bit of our experience in Railway Carriage. Such an incredible experience. Love the vibe, nature and those chickens were my favourite morning part, such an amazing audience😁
That music system, record player, card games .. it was such a refreshing stay. Surely recommended. Thanks Glenn!

Stayed in the chalet for one night. Plenty of space for a couple, impeccably clean and private. Owners are very friendly and have great local knowledge of the area, recommending many bush walks nearby. Enjoyed meeting the animals too!

We had a wonderful stay recently in the Chalet. So much thought has gone into making our stay so very comfortable. The Chalet was warm, cosy and just so relaxing and decked out with everything we needed. We stayed for four nights and so glad we did. It gave us a chance to explore the gorgeous property and the surrounding area. There was lots to see and do and each evening we had our lovely Chalet to return to. We saw the railway carriage too. What a fabulous idea to make this into accommodation and would love to stay in that sometime. Our hosts were wonderful. Friendly and knowledgeable about the property and the area. We will definitely be back.

We are so glad we stayed 2 nights to really settle in & relax. Glenn was very informative and welcoming, as well as the chickens and native birds. Highly recommend for a lovely getaway - the train carriage was such a novelty, quirky & lots of great memorabilia to look at, they've done well to keep the originality of the carriage too - like stepping back in time. Wonderful experience & so close to look outs and bush walks nearby and a lovely windy drive to Wivenhoe Dam. Only 35/40 min drive back into town if you need more supplies or food

Perfect quiet reset in the hills. Glenn and Renee have thought of everything for their guests in both the chalet and the carriage accommodation options. The space was immaculate and the hospitality exceptional. Easy to find location and would definitely recommend to friends. Looking forward to visiting again.

My hubby & I stayed July 23. We had a great time. Lots of thought has gone into the carriage & was very comfortable & homely. We especially loved the chickens & wildlife. Beautiful place & able to take a nice drive & walks close by. Glen & Renee were wonderful hosts. I especially loved their friendly cat too.

Loved our stay in the chalet- so many interesting little touches. Clearly a lot of thought and love has gone into the place - we were lucky enough to be given a tour round the Railway carriage also- which we would love to experience next time. Renee and Glen were lovely hosts and the setting is also just lovely and peaceful. Will definitely be back!

I love mt Nebo Rail Carriages. I booked my brother and sister in law, a night away in the rail carriage. This was a surprise for them. I stayed in the Chalet. Renee and Glenn are 2 amazing hosts who have beautifully restored the Carriage and Chalet. The history and character of both will amaze you. Every detail of the original purpose of the Chalet and Carriage has been carefully restored and furnished to a high standard. They are both equally very comfortable, clean, and well presented. I recommend highly staying here, great place to switch of from technology, relax, with a book and enjoy the great outdoors. Watch the cheeky cockatoos or chooks scratching around or go for a bush walk on the Boombana track. Why not like us not use the gas BBQ and start up the wood BBQ. Out under the stars, relaxing in fresh air, fire pit going, sausages, and steak cooking on the BBQ, sounds of wildlife filling the evening air. Glenn is more than happy to assist with starting the wood BBQ fire if you are not great at starting a fire. Give the wood BBQ a go, and you will love the experience of cooking out doors with nature. After dinner, relax with a glass of wine and toasted marshmallows by the fire pit. Whatever you decide to do, you will fall in love with this place.

I stayed two nights in the railway carriage. Accommodation was wonderful, clean and comfortable. Made friends with the local birds and hens. Read a book on the carriage deck, and had coffee next door at the Cafe. Great trip for a solo or with others.
Lovely hosts and a peaceful environment, definitely go again.
