First Class Brakes & Automotive

First Class is first class. My vehicle was dealer quoted $4500 to replace a rear wheel bearing. Apparently you had to buy the axle as well. I was fortunately referred to First Class, and was quoted $880 including labour. Matt has to be the most genuine person I have met. A mechanic from yesteryear ,not from a throw away world. I just took my car into Matt and his crew because the handbrake wasn't working I was sure it would need new cable and shoes but I was wrong, all it needed was machining which they did at a very reasonable price. They could have upsold me but didn't. My handbrake now works great and even to specifications. From now on this will be the only place I take my car for everything and I would highly recommend everybody else go there too!!! Thankyou guys for an excellent job and I look forward to seeing you next time I need work done.

Matt diagnosed 2 seized suspension front and back on the spot. Put me on the right track. Like my dad would who a week ago past from cancer. Didn't need Matt to repair in the end as fiesta was still under warranty. Though he gave better price than another main stream suspension mechanic by 200$. Will be doing repairs through him once 3 months warranty ends. All the best Matt, kind regards Ian.

A+ service from Matt at First Class Auto repair. Had an engine misfire and arranged insurance to tow to a repairer. Matt took the call outside of hours and was happy to oblige. The next day, he sent photos of components as they were being assessed to help explain the issue and didn't go ahead and do anything without prior approval. He was very thorough in his explanations and after sales service. In the end we solved the issue and following a general service and new serpentine belt, the car is running smoother than it has in a long time :) Matt took photos of things like brake pads to flag potential issues down the road. He even fixed a faulty taillight free of charge!

I'm stoked to have found a local mechanic who is knowledgeable, honest and reliable. Won't hesitate in bringing the car back to him for next service or if there are any future issues. Thanks again Matt!

Best mechanic I've ever been to! After my engine light came on, I spent over $5000 at a large automotive chain replacing this and that but nothing ever fixed the issue. I was then told that they weren't sure what was causing the issue but to be prepared to spend another $1000 without a guaranteed solution. I gave up and went to Matt. Matt is very knowledgable and saw the issue immediately (the clip/sensor on the engine had vibrated off) and fixed it for free! Will be using from now on
