Anekawa Japanese Restaurant

Been here a few times and the food is always delicious. Staff and very happy and knowledgeable. All dishes were amazing, had the omakese for $95 per person. They have a very unique tofu dish as well, but probably not for everyone. Seating is a bit weird and sometimes feels like you are sitting with the next table. But will be coming back.

Cute authentic Japanese restaurant with beautiful food! We had the omakase and all the dishes were exquisite! We swapped out the oysters and got another raw dish instead. My favourite was the chawanmushi! It was so delicious with the pops of corn and roe. The gotofu was such an interesting dish, I’ve never had anything like it and I enjoyed it a lot. The textures of the chewy tofu and crunchy granola was excellent. The omakase was pescatarian. Overall a very enjoyable experience!

Wow, We only live in Robina, so this was very close to us and I’m so disappointed I didn’t know about it sooner but I’m so happy we have discovered Anekawa now! Super super impressed! From the moment you walk in through the decorative Japanese curtains, you are immersed in a little timber Japanese carpentry restaurant with beautiful concrete floors, the layout, the atmosphere and the vibe were all banging! Best cocktail I’ve ever had really set the night off great, it was citrus yuzu & so yummy! My husband and I both did the 8 course Omakase and I’m so glad we did, because there were things on there I would never normally have ordered and they were simply sensational. The whipped tofu with the sweet sauce and nuts was so unusual and probably my favourite dish to be honest it was so delicate and tasty. Every single meal that came out was prepared and served and tasted amazing. So authentic and so different to any other Japanese I’ve ever had. Best Japanese I’ve had in Australia. Each dish was original, well balanced and full of flavour and texture. Do yourself a favour and get a cocktail or two. These too were intelligently designed and super interesting to explore.

Absolutely amazing food. We opted for the omakase tasting menu. Beautiful ceramic ware complemented the dishes perfectly. Impeccable service.

Had a wonderful night at this little gem, small intimate setting, perfect for dates or celebrate special occasions. Even in such small room, it was quiet without much echoing even at almost capacity and can carry on proper convo.
Service was attentive, water always refilled before empty and waitstaff noticed drink is empty and ask if needs another promptly.
Food was presented beautifully and explained in detail for each dish, of course they all taste delicious.

Amazing dinner, had no idea this gem was in my neck of the woods. Staff attentive, atmosphere cosy and the food authentic Japanese. It aint cheap but hells bells worth every bite!! Its 6 stars from me

Sensational Japanese on the Gold Coast. Anekawa is a real hidden gem! Opted for omakaze which was amazing!

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had! The food is amazing, and the staff so pleasant. We had a late reservation and my young daughter also couldn’t eat most of the dishes so my hubby took her out to get some food and when he came back it was past their closing time. The staff was immensely understanding and patient and even reheated his food for him! I would definitely be coming back soon and telling my friends about this gorgeous place.

I have not been so impressed with a restaurant in such a long time! Anekawa was an amazing culinary experience. The restaurant has an intimate ambiance, the service was highly attentive and friendly and the food was outstanding 🤩 The dishes are all so well balanced using beautiful fresh local ingredients. You can see how much thought and detail are put into each dish and the gorgeous vibrant colours on each plate present like an artwork. There are vegan options too and they were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Anekawa Japanese restaurant!

Best Japanese restaurant in Gold Coast. We came here twice in past two weeks. The atmosphere is superb and the staff is really friendly and observant. Great place to enjoy Japanese meal.

We really enjoyed our date night here at Anekawa. We requested to be seated at the bar to watch chefs make our 9 course omakase, was a very enjoyable show for us. We would be back regularly for sure!

Have since returned for dinner and all I can say is the chef is a magician.
We had the very best evening ever, seated at the bar overlooking the dishes being prepared and having the opportunity to discuss the dishes as they were presented was a rare pleasure indeed.
Every dish was exquisite, some had punchy flavours, others more subtle but each and every dish was utterly perfect. Pretty much can't top that. Speechless.
Will certainly be back. Rave about it to everyone. So much more I could say: the freshest of ingredients selected with care so the menu is constantly changing; the selection of complementary drinks; the first class service; watching it all run smoothly even when they get busy - just amazing. Go and enjoy for yourself. Several thousand out of ten 👍😍🙏❤❤❤

Modern Japanese food. Great, friendly (reserved, but attentive) service. Great food. The menu was full of fresh ideas from some different fish for the sashimi, to the fried taro entree, to the option of adding sea urchin to our scallops, to the 'hero' fish head main dish! A few novel drink options as well and a well thought out wine list as well. Easy to get to. Should book ahead as it is a small restaurant that is booked a few weeks in advance.

We had the best experience at Anekawa! The ambiance is fantastic! Loved the furniture and cutlery. It’s earthy, clean and stylish! The service was wonderful. Lady serving our table was knowledgeable, friendly and gave great recommendations based on our likes.

We came here on a Thursday night and its filled with happy customers. Food portions were generous. And the quality of each dish is to die for.... highly recommend the plum wine for layered flavours.

We left Anekawa feeling extremely happy and full! We will definitely be coming back!

A lovely modern Omakase Japanese restaurant in GC. My only complaint is too rush of the dinning time, we can't really enjoy the dinner. Honestly, the foods are creative and nice. The price is not cheap but still very worth it. I came here for celebrating my partner's birthday, they arranged a pretty candle for him. Surprise!
