Dr. Hugh English - Brisbane Orthopedic Specialist Services

I recently had a very fortunate experience of meeting with Dr Hugh English. He came highly recommended by a previous patient who had an accident that left his knee cap looking like a road map of Australia. (3 years later and no issue with the knee. Good as gold mate are his words) My own experience of Dr English was fantastic. He listen to my issue, reviewed my MRI, reassured me that he could not only help solve the issue and resolve the pain associated with my knee. Through the surgery again Dr English and his team were amazing as they were with post operative care. Everything was explained and most of all all questions were answered as well as the offer to ring the office if I had any further issues or queries. He was highly approachable and I felt extremely safe in his hands. I can not recommend Dr English and his team highly enough.

I have had one of my Birmingham joints now for around 15yrs and the other 8.
They changed my life from a painful existence taking painkillers hand over fist to a normal life.
I have travelled many times internationally and still work in the mining and construction sector. I have no problems passing medicals without pain.
I have blood tests every year for work etc I get cobalt added to that and levels have been constant all this time.
Looking forward to retirement now and trust they will see me out.

I had a hip replacement performed by Dr English. He fully explained the procedure to me and thoroughly answered any questions I had about my situation. His patient care is excellent, both pre op and post op. He has always been very approachable and very professional and takes the time to explain anything you ask. I highly recommend Dr English.

I have had surgery performed by Doctor English and ongoing issues that he has always assisted me in managing in the least painful and most medically sound way. My recent hip replacement on 20/5/19 with Dr English was a very positive experience . I was a bit fearful befote the operation . I was given education for pre op and post op which was very beneficial for me .

Very professional from the moment you ring the rooms for an appointment. Dr English has a fantastic manner and is very approachable pre and post surgery. Highly recommended.

I had the unfortunate experience of meeting this surgeon in Sydney several years ago for a medial legal consult and found him to be rude insulting and downright disrespectful so would find it very hard to recommend him to anyone if you need a surgeon find someone else

Dr English sadly is only in it for the money. Obviously he’ll help you if you have money
How can a dr see you for about 8 minutes and decide your life
His report stated I would be unable to return to my job yet only gave me a 1 percent impairment
Dr English was paid more than the offer I was given for compensation
So am also unable to work

He works for Workcover QLD .. need I say more. Absolutely disgusted

I was referred to Dr English 7 years ago, regarding a problem with my right hip.I was experiencing constant pain in my hip and lower back . I am a registered nurse, and as you can imagine this caused me a lot of grief in my work place as well as my everyday life. I have done the hip Xray and MRI and came to Dr. English hoping to be helped. The visit to the doctor was very brief. I did not get any clear explanation, as to what was actually wrong with me. He said that I have a mildly damaged rt. hip ligament and mild arthritis of my rt. hip join and sent me home saying" There is nothing that he can do." Through the following 7 year period, my condition slowly deteriorated, until I could hardly walk.I went to another orthopedic doctor , he just looked at my hip Xray and diagnosed me with hip structural abnormalities of both hips and torn rt. hip labrum (which is VERY different from a damaged ligament). It means that I am restricted in my hip movement range, and in order to preserve my hip joints, there are quite a few things that I should avoid doing as well as quite a few other things that I need to do. Had I been told any of this by Dr.English originally, a lot of pain and suffering could have been avoided. I can not understand why Dr. English did not bother to explain my condition to me. I am guessing that it was too much of an effort. I am now very disappointed. I had come to him with all my investigation results, asking for help, but only wasted my time, health and money.
