Dr Andrew Patten and his team have been outstanding. After a knee injury last year, I was able to get in to Dr Patten quickly for assessment and ultimately reconstructive surgery. Appointments were always on time, nothing was ever too much trouble and my knee is better than ever. Highly recommended!

Dr Craig Hughes - This is a post operation review. I found Dr Hughes very personable and approachable. He answered all the questions I did not know to ask. The pre admission from Nicola (apologies not sure of medical title here) was again informative, unhurried and confidence building. The surgery was excellent, the nursing spot on and follow up reassuring and informative. Definitely felt my hand was being held. No post medical issues from surgery. I am so very very pleased all round. I have no hesitation in commending Dr Hughes and his team for a total knee replacement.

Dr Hughes was terrific, he explained everything thoroughly before my knee replacement and there was no pressure to rush into it. Post surgery I had no pain and healing has been fantastic.. The skill of course I guess I took for granted, but the gentle, kind, friendly & positive everything else given by Dr Craig Hughes who carried out my recent hip replacement was not naturally expected but I was so grateful for it. Nicola’s follow up service was vital to help me through my self assessed better than average recovery time. I’m brand new again thanks to all of us! I am forever grateful beyond words - thank you!

I have always found Craig to be caring, encouraging and thoroughly professional at every stage of treatment. His excellent care has given me the opportunity to be able to live a fully functional life again.

I have had a full left hip replacement completed one year ago by Dr Craig Hughes, he has now signed me off being as I have had no infections and no pain during the year. The protocols he has in place eliminate any chance of these occurring. His operating theatre staff are very good, also his secretary with communication and appointments. I would recommend his services if you require a hip or knee repair or replacement.

Dr Hugh English and his team were amazing; from the consultation to the check out process after surgery. All the secretaries, orderlies, nurses, assistants, anaesthetist and of course Dr English himself were so caring, informative and as far as I can tell thus far, the surgery itself was fast, thorough and a good result so far. I would 10/10 recommend. As a side note billing was very easy to understand, they broke down the medicare repayment, the health insurance repayment and the gap that is covered by the patient. I say repayment because in my situation and I would assume it would be the same for most others that they require full payment 5 days prior to surgery and then they organise the repayment from medicare/private health. The Anaesthist billed after surgery and was still quite affordable for my surgery (knee Anthroscopy). I found all this extremely easy to deal with and as I said before they are very transparent and informative when it comes to all aspects.

Dr Craig Hughes is one of the most professional, caring and approachable specialists I have met. He recently performed a knee replacement for me using the Mako robot. From the time I came home I experienced no pain in my knee and at 3 months I have great movement and no limitations to what I can do. I had cause to revist him on an unplanned appointment and he was very reassuring and put me at ease that I had not wasted his time and that I should always see him if I have any questions or issues with my knee. Great follow up service!
I would highly recommend him to anyone requiring knee surgery.

Dr Andrew Patten cared for me following a fall with messy break of my collarbone. He is very approachable, extremely thorough and has a unique style which inspires a great deal of confidence. The collaboration between us on decision making was second to none. We need more surgeons like him.

Dr Patten, is the most caring and fantastic surgeon I have ever met. He went through everything good and the bad before surgery. The surgery I could not fault and after care exceptional. Highly recommend great Doctor we need more like him.

Dr Gerald Yeo is a Legend.. after being involved in a MVA, i was referred to Dr Yeo with a significant calcaneal fracture. The first consultation he made it clear of the extent of my injury and future impacts, which is the honesty i think everyone needs after sustaining an injury that effects your livelihood. 2 years later and 12months after a subtalar fusion, i am back on my feet and able to focus on the future.

My name is Tanya Brind and I would like to express my thanks to Dr Gerald Yeo and the ladies in administration at the Brisbane Orthopaedic Specialist Services at St Vincent’s Private Hospital.

I was referred to Dr Yeo by my GP when I had an accident injuring my ankle which required surgery.

I saw Dr Yeo on the 3rd of September and found him to be a lovely doctor with a good sense of humour.

The ladies in administration were all so lovely and also had a good sense of humour, which I really like in people.

The ladies emailed me all the paperwork needed for the surgery and were always happy to answer any questions I had.

Surgery can be very daunting for some people and when you have very helpful administration staff & a great surgeon , It makes is all okay.

The nurses who looked after me for my stay were so caring and helpful and I can’t thank them enough.

Dr Yeo did an amazing job on my injured ankle and he told me it would take up to 3 months to heal.

It has been 13 weeks since my surgery and I have fully recovered with the help of physio, hydrotherapy and of course the surgeon who did an amazing job.

I would highly recommend Dr Yeo to anyone who should need ankle surgery.

Just had ACL reconstruction on my left knee in October with Dr Andrew Patten. The office staff were all great, explaining all my paper work etc to me so everything was in place. Dr Patten was very professional and genuinely invested in getting my knee back to as close to as good as it was prior to injury. Surgery was great. Pain management perfect. I stopped pain meds two days after surgery and had no problems. I followed the post op rehab exercises as suggested and I can not believe how well I am healing. I had expected a lot worse, very happy :) - Kellie

Dr Gerald Yeo is a charismatic, knowledgeable and gifted lower limb surgeon, with a wicked sense of humour.
I presented with a challenging condition affecting both feet. Dr Yeo analysed the problem as shown on the x-rays and examined my feet. He then discussed in detail how he could surgically correct the problem.
The outcome has been extraordinary. For the first time in years I can walk without pain.
I will always be indebted to Dr Gerald Yeo.

I’m so impressed with the professional but personal approach from both secretaries and doctor. I just had surgery by Dr Yeo and felt comfortable and confident from the initial consult. Communication is fantastic, and nothing is too much trouble. I wish all clinics would run like this.
