Osaka Kaiten Sushi

Today, I had the pleasure of dining at Osaka Kaiten Sushi on the Gold Coast, and the experience was nothing short of sensational. My culinary journey began with a bowl of their miso soup, which was phenomenal. The depth of flavor in the soup set a high standard for the meal, offering a rich umami taste that was both comforting and invigorating.

Moving on from the soup, I was presented with the medium sashimi platter. The presentation was a visual spectacle, with each piece of sashimi delicately placed on a bed of ice, separating it within a beautifully crafted presentation bowl. This not only maintained the freshness of the fish but also enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the dish. Each slice of sashimi was exquisitely fresh, offering a taste reminiscent of the finest sushi I’ve experienced in Japan. The vibrant colors and the freshness of the seafood created a melody of flavors that danced on my palate.

The climax of my dining experience was the nigiri sushi. Each piece was a testament to the chef’s artistry, with the fish being exceptionally fresh and tender, melting effortlessly in my mouth. The rice was cooked to perfection, with each grain perfectly seasoned and proportioned, which complemented the fish wonderfully. The generous portions of seafood on each nigiri were not just visually appealing but also spoke volumes about the restaurant’s commitment to quality and generosity.

The staff at Osaka Kaiten Sushi deserves special mention for their exceptional service. Their attention to ensuring a positive dining experience was evident in their friendly demeanor and attentiveness. Honestly this place is the best Japanese on the GC hands down! Been binning here since it opened and forgot for a while as far away from me now but coming back is just heaven. No idea why this place is not a 5!!!!

Overall it’s a good place if you’re hungry and looking for a decent sushi. Staff is super nice and serves you with a big smile

Sushi Set B had a good variety of nigiri including uni. To top off, the rotating sushi train was filled with wonderful rolls, sushi and even some crunchy spring rolls.

The Asahi beer imported from Japan and served in an ice cold mug with a perfect amount of head was crisp, refreshing and a nice complement to the meal. Not all Asahi are the same so really appreciate the fact that they went with the made in Japan version rather the brews made abroad under the supervision of Asahi. Tastes much different.

Service was friendly at this mom and pop establishment. Got here at 5pm dinner opening to avoid the crowds.

I visited this place a few times on my visit to Surfers. Very friendly service and the seafood is very fresh. Highly recommend the Sashimi Don and the sushis. I will definitely visit again. It's right next to Surfers Paradise tram stop.

Great sushi, aburi, and sake.

To be honest I think we overdid it with the sake but why not!

Surprisingly good sushi taking into consideration that it’s in the center of tourism.

Wide menu - covered not only basics but also some essentials like udon, gyoza, donburi and even fries (I know it’s not sushi style but tell it to arguing teens)

So if you around - definitely easy choice. Even for locals.

Amazing food and friendly service at great value. Highly recommend the Agadeshi tofu, Katsu chicken and all sushi on the train. Loved it so much we went back to the same place on both of our nights in QLD.

We had dinner here two days in a low when we stay at Gold Coast. The seafood is fresh and all dishes are tasty. My toddler daughter loves the udon. The service is great too!

Found this place just near our apartment and decided to give it a try - actually very good food - being BYO was a bonus - very good service - smallish entree dishes but all good

Have been there many times, Extremely Friendly staffs, very yummy food, highly recommended to other people who like sushi.

Really tasty. Sushis are fresh and staff is nice. Nothing to say about it. The price is a bit high but it’s in the middle of surfers. Will be back :)

Wow ! Blown away with how good this resturant was. We know our sushi and have eaten allot of sushi from different places. The level of quality sushi is right up there with the best of the best. Make sure to order from the kitchen and you cannot go wrong. We have eaten here 4 times in 10 days. Amazing and delicious. Staff were lovely and service was incredible. Amazing chefs 👏 bravo 👏

Terrific authentic Japanese restaurant. We ordered like the experts we are not and enjoyed everything. Nice service. At Q1, one tram stop south from the Hilton.

Great little place.. Great prices.. I'm more of an order 4-5 small entre dishes when i go to Japanese restaurants and this place did not disappoint. Great friendly waitress too. Try the Takoyaki, my favourite.
