Bankstown Star Buffet

Went at 5:30 on a Friday. There was a small line-up but once we entered I was thoroughly impressed with the size and variety of the buffet. I am a very big eater and was unable to make it through the whole dessert bar which was very extensive.
Staff were very attentive and I saw frequent cleaning. It's quite a spacious buffet so there's no crowds to fight through.
I will be returning with a different game plan now that I've tried everything. I would honestly pay $100 for this buffet and still not be disappointed.

A great selection of quality food with a spacious interior. One of the better star Buffett's I've been to.

For the price point of $40, I think the buffet is absolutely great. You do need to come in with someone who has a membership card, but otherwise you get a great variety of food. There was fresh seafood, cooked seafood, crackling pork, roast duck, sushi, and many more, including a variety of desserts too.

Great buffet experience, would recommend!

PS. Please stop people from camping the entrance of the sushi train and taking all the good sushi. These people ruin others' experiences.

Came here for lunch and it is now one of my favourite restaurants to go to. I highly recommend it!

29/4/2023, I could not believe I had stir-fry mud crab, cold Blue Swimmer Crabs, raw salmon, cooked salmon & smoked salmon salad (none would appear on Mon-Thurs) though the following Fri Basa replaced mud crab on the same spot for the same price.
The verdict is distinct, so many people lined up on weekends because here is close to the best deal. Though the price was increased a few times from 2020, I still treat it as my regular canteen. All clubs in NSW require non-members to bring government issued ID. Other Star Buffets are also located inside clubs.
Clearly other than Ashfield RSL & Merrylands RSL, this is almost the cheapest buffet in Sydney. Unfortunately some nonsense people avoided higher sessions but expected too much for the basic weekday lunch buffet. A simple stir fry noodles is around $16 in most take away shops. Around $22 weekday lunch ($18.5 for senior members) can beat all others on Mondays even changed from cold prawns to school prawns salad, because Ashfield 88 & Merrylands Signature do not open.
I tried all different priced sessions, weekday lunch & dinner, weekend lunch & dinner also on major public holidays. Salad, fruits & dessert like cheesecakes & pudding are quite expensive outside, even in supermarkets. RSL style buffets are so affordable with a wider range of different food with unlimited coffee, tea & icecream when compared to hotpot & BBQ.

I eat here at least once a week so I cannot count how many hundred times I ate here but I had never had food poisoning even I ate raw oysters (only on specific dates) & salmon.
*Annual 25Dec lunches are always the only day to have lobsters & oysters on top of weekend dinner version. This also applies on other Star Buffets & Ashfield 88.
25/12/2022 was just $72.8, my friend joined membership to 2047 for $25 only!
No where else(other than Ashfield & other Star Buffet) in Sydney would have lobster buffets for less than $110 on normal weekends & public holidays. In NSW, neither supermarkets nor shopping centres (so as food court inside) can open on 25Dec.

Absolutely fantastic the food is always fresh and continuously refilled. There is a huge range of cuisines to choose from, a great dessert bar. There is always a line up to get in before it opens as this place is that popular and not very expensive.

Haven't been here for a year. Got a birthday party of 10 people just this weekend. Seating area is still very spacious which is great for groups or party. Much of the food here are still same the same with lots to choose from. They even have a Fairy Floss machine!!

Gotta give them a thumbs up. Even during COVID, they are trying their best to stay afloat. Menu has slightly altered because of COVID restriction and they have staff member serving behind the counter. Hope restriction will lift soon so we can help ourselves again. I went to Bankstown RSL Buffet with my family today. We are all vegetarian , still we had many selections of vegetarian food there.. Nice atmosphere. It is value for money even though we didn't eat any seafood or meat. We will surely bring our friends there next time. Thank you.

Quick service and good value for buffet. Great accommodation for big groups and lots of options to choose from. I highly recommend the roast beef and garlic prawns! Delicious

YAY! I’m so happy to say that Bankstown Star Buffet have lifted their game exponentially since my last visit! They’ve improved the sushi train, the variety available now is exceptional with more vegetarian options. The hot food is actually hot this time and the overall quality of the food and ingredients has vastly improved. I’m so excited to have this place back at the top of my fave dining experiences. My new favorite buffet in Sydney. I have been to different buffet this one is the best. Good food, ambiance is great, staff were excellent, very spacious, clean and tidy. Its worth your money.

Everything about this buffet is good better than most only thing that could improve is replacement of food especially BBQ duck and pork sometimes in 1 hour get up 5 times and each time have to sit back down and wait for food to be refilled especially the duck and prawns. Editing review its gotten allot worse each time im i get up every 5 to 10 min to get prawns or duck and the plate is always empty so i eat something else and never end up eating what i came here for the shallot ginger was empty the whole night. The last 4 times its been like this i think its time dont come here anymore and find another buffet. Unless they fill there food trays and not let people get up % times in 1 hour and food is still not being replaced. Its a waste of money to eat at a buffet if thet dont have food each time you get up to get it
