The Yum Cha at Vinh Phat is not comparable to anything else in Sydney, or maybe Australia.
The quality and range of options are phenomenal and I would always leave pleased, not feeling ripped off with reasonable pricing for the dishes.
The only slight downside is the massive line in weekends, though it does move.
If you feel like you're missing out on some trolleys, you can also order straight from the staff.
If you want to avoid the lines, get in early!

There are restaurants which people queue up. And there are restaurants with QUEUE. It's super long all the way to the other blocks. Service really effective and attentive. Love the way the create rules to make sure everyone can enjoy. I justblove it when I see the business really know their game and don't give a damn about some bias people might say. Food were delicious. Will definitely return if we have a chance. Good job guys.

Yum Cha with more than the usual siu mai and Cha siu bao options. We had some unique dishes I’ve never had.
We eat a lot and the bill came out to $25pp (at most others I’ve been it’s more like $40pp)
The line is long but moves fast. We started around the corner and it took about 20mins to be seated.

Best yum cha in Sydney! Try to go on a week day if you can to avoid the queue, otherwise aim to get there early! Service is quick and the ladies with the cart are very friendly. All dishes are delicious and fresh. The best cha goi tieu chau you can find in Sydney. There's also this dish which is like prawn mousse in the centre of a deep fried fritter and coated with super soft steamed rice roll which you then dip in a light sweet soy sauce, it's amazing!

This place is amazing!!!
Just had dinner there for my nephews birthday. The food was so so good it was really tasty and every dish cooked to perfection. Few of my favourite dishes were Singaporean crab with fried buns, wagyu beef and the veg tofu was on another level. Even the jellyfish salad was so refreshing. I will definitely be going back the price was extremely reasonable with great big portions.

Delicious authentic yum cha! Fast service, the aunty's may not understand English well but we just pointed and nodded and got by fine. Very friendly staff! It is a time limited set-up once you sit down it's about 45mins. Not every table has a menu but you can ask. I must say the toilets could have been cleaner. But overall we were happy when we left and now have some new yum cha favourites 😍

One of the best yumcha's in the area.

All the dishes here are chef's kiss, can't go wrong with any selection.
And definitely get the MANGO PANCAKES!!

If you're after a certain dish, ask one of the trolley lady and they put in an order for you.

NOTE: They don't take bookings so be prepared to wait. Recommend getting there early (especially to find parking) or go on a weekday to get seats quicker. They also have a 45min dining time.

Price: We tried our best to work out the prices of each stamp (don't quote me on this)
Small - $4
Medium - $6
Large - $7
Extra Large - $9

Came here for Yum Cha (Dim Sum) today for the first time and have some advice for newcomers like me. I had read some of the reviews and was weirdly slightly nervous but once you know the idea it's absolutely worth it! I arrived at 10am on a Sat and there wasn't a line, but when I walked past again at 11am, the line stretched around the building.

Some of the servers (in red outfits) have trolleys which they wheel around the restaurant which have a certain type of Yum Cha (a few fried items or a few steamed items etc.). As I sat down, one came over quickly and I was encouraged to take a dish. I was slightly taken aback by their insistence but they are generally trying to be helpful. If you take a dish off the trolley, they then mark it down on a bill on the table.

I asked for a Yum Cha menu with the first server but I'm not sure if she didn't understand me but I didn't get one. I then got the attention of a server in a black outfit (who I think are maybe manager types?) and she brought over the menu. The moment she handed it to me, she was asking me what I wanted, which was slightly flustering, but I just held me nerve and took my time. Again, she was just trying to be helpful but it could come across as pushy.

I orded two dishes and then collected a fourth from a trolley. The food was all delicious and was served with Jasmine tea. Overall the bill for the four dishes for myself came to $32 which I felt was reasonable as I was stuffed. Any left over items can also be taken home with you.

Overall I really enjoyed my experience and will absolutely return. I'd recommend looking at the Yum Cha menu ahead (there are pictures of it on Google reviews if you search for Yum Cha - it's two pages) if you don't want to be pressured at all.

Went quite early to find my cousin already First in the queue for Dim Sum as she had told us that the queue usually goes around the corner! When they opened at 9:00am, the queue had just reached to the corner. They have a 45-minute time limit sign posted which I doubt is enforced if you have a large group and keep ordering dishes. Sorry, ate all the food before thinking of pictures of the dim sum. Very efficient service 🌺 #ChinatownCabramatta

Is this the best Yum Cha in Sydney? Probably not. Is it the best quality of food you'll get for the price? No doubt about it. Two of us spent $45 on 6 dishes, when we would expect to pay $70 or more. Staff were friendlier than most Yum Cha restaurants. I wouldn't recommend travelling here just for the food, but if you're in the area and can cope with the queue, then it's definitely worth a try.

Best yum cha I have ever had. Highly recommend but be prepared for the line up. This place is 10/10 and people are lining up out the door

Excellent quality yumcha with generous portions. The egg tarts are absolutely to die for! Chicken feet and har gow are incredible as well.
No menu was provided, but you can ask for one.
Queue can be quite long - we waited about 30 minutes. Minimum spend is 15 bucks, but you’ll easily reach it with 3-4 plates.
Coming back here next time I visit the country :)

It's not often that I leave reviews, but I just thought the experience of having our son's birthday function was too amazing to not share. Brian and Amy went ABOVE and BEYOND to cater for our event, despite the fact that we asked for changes so many times. The entire staff team are also so friendly and professional, we couldn't have asked for more. Vinh Phat is our regular go to for dinner as a family, because we know that the food is ALWAYS great and never disappoints. If you want quality food and an amazing customer service experience, the food, venue and team at Vinh Phat is all that and more. Thank you SO MUCH to the team for an amazing night full of fun and laughter for both kids and adults. Supporting you guys always!!!!

Vinh Phat is a popular restaurant for yum cha, I visited before midday on a weekday, so it wasn't too busy. After midday the queue was quite long and out the door. Vinh Phat is located next door to Binh Dan, I will admit that I did at first miss the restaurant and walked past it.

Vinh Phat has a 45 minute seating limit, which is fair considering how busy they get. Vinh Phat has a large selection of yum cha items available, their food is fresh and delicious. I really loved everything that we ordered and the total cost was not expensive at all.

I ended up parking at the Dutton Lane Carpark which was a few minutes walk from the restaurant. There was a carpark closer to the restaurant but it was smaller and super busy.

Our favourite local Yumcha. Was chaotic when we came as it was 45min before the kitchen closes for lunch so the cart ladies were buzzing around our table. But food was great as usual. Very fast service.

The pictures don’t do it justice.

You know when a food place is nice when there is long lines all the way from the bottom.

My best advice would be to go during the week as weekends are so so busy! The wait time would be 45 mins to 1 hour.

Highly recommended to anyone who wants to have affordable YumCha.

Parking is horrendous come early so you don’t have issues finding space.

Short wait to get a table, understandably busy at around 1pm. Bustling atmosphere with friendly obliging staff and plenty of trolleys coming around offering tasty yum cha treats. Everything was fresh, delicious and just as it should be. We had a yummy yum cha experience. Highly recommended.

One of the best yum cha I have tried. Very affordable pricing and really worth it.

Every dish is excellent that I recommend trying most of them. I think the only dish we had mix reactions was the sesame prawn and the pudding.other than that, the dessert tofu and mango crepe were nice.

Plus points as well for maintaining social distancing rules and thorough cleaning.

Delicious dimsum! The line is long but it moves quickly. We came on a Saturday afternoon and queued for about 30 mins.
If you drive, it is recommended that you drop off your passengers to queue while you look for parking. It is quite tough to find parking on weekends there.
You can choose which foods you like on the cart. If what you want is not on it, you can tell what you want to the waiter/waitress and they will bring your foods directly to your table.

How do I put this, Best Yum Cha in Sydney. Food is always super fresh, and delicious. The staff are friendly and there is a yum cha menu you can also order from - heaps of variety. Peak times on weekends get busy and takes a bit longer for cart ladies to come around - but that's normal and worth the wait. Been here so many times, will be back again soon. (Also the ala carte menu is just as good - authentic, fresh and tasty)
