This is our 3rd time to this restaurant, it is always a winner! The host/waitress is really friendly and service really efficient. We had a selection of entrees (coconut prawns, spring rolls and pork wontons were particularly delicious) and 5 mains and all were delicious (chicken with cashew nut was my fav). They have plenty of bottled beer options as well as soft drinks. It is BYO too, cost was $7 per bottle. Don't know about parking as we walked there, but it is a very central location! You do have to climb stairs to access so not sure if there was an option for wheelchairs or those with mobility issues. Servings are generous and can be adapted to your group number with ease. Bookings at the weekend would probably be advisable. Great experience

Originally found this restaurant tucked away up a flight of stairs- so glad I did! I’ve visited a few times each time I’m in Canberra, visiting from WA. My favourite is the Pork Pad Se Ew. Service friendly, brought water to table without having to ask. Quick service, generous portions. I will be back 🙂

This is one of the best vegan Thai food I have ever had outside of premium restaurants in Thailand! Really yummy and think twice before you order extra spicy! They don't hold back !

Only 1 thing to note is that acess to the location is about 50 steep steps. It is worth the effort of you are able to :)

High quality food for very cheap prices, especially during lunch time. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet. Perfect for a broke student like me who forgot to make lunch at home.

The chicken laksa and boat noodles lunch deals are awesome. It is rare to have such top food quality for $12.50 in Canberra.

I am in love with their vegetarian fried rice (tofu and veggies)! The service is very quick, the food is abundant and the lunch special is quite cheap! Highly recommended for an informal lunch with friends or colleagues. Don't need to book for couples.

Today I go to the Florina Building where there is the restaurant the Rice Tapes Thai (Thailand) 😋 Restaurant is, up to the first floor, taken the staircase, for the first time.
Taste the Thai food, I can't remember when I taste Thai food.

Greeted by the wonderful owner ❤, to a table, I was only costumer at this time, owner says you can sit any table 😀, so I sat next to the window 🪟 to see the Lovely Garema Place. 😍

This is my first order in Thai foods, I was little lost in the manu what I wish to have. The owner come to rescue me we looked the manu, I go for the Chicken 🐔 Pad Thai.

The Chicken 🐔 Pad Thai is so Wonderful 😋 and also have Thai Milk 🥛 😋 Tea 🍵 the drink is great, my first time.

Today I have a nice soup 🍲 😋 coconut 🥥 milk with Chicken 🐔 and noodles 🍜. After I have prawns with fried rice 🍚 😋.
So nice.

This is not the first time that I come here. Decades earlier I come when my mother worked in the kitchen in early 1960s, was a German Restaurant (do not remember the name) up to 1970s, later become Chinese Restaurant for many years.
11 years ago the Rice Tapas Thai Restaurant opens the doors 🚪.

Best Thai I’ve ever had. Could not fault the food, service or the restaurant. The food was tasty and generous in portions. The staff were kind and accommodating, especially in regards to allergies. I would only go here in the future for Thai food.

Lovely place to have traditional Thai. Family of five and we all raved about our meal - delicious food, friendly and prompt service, and a quiet comfortable setting at least on a Monday. Would eat here again.

Walked in and got the friendliest greeting ever! Haven’t even got my food yet and I’m writing this review!
Update: my takeaway milk tea was ready in seconds and my Pad-Thai was out in less than five minutes. Everything tastes phenomenal! If I could give this restaurant 11 stars I would!

They make a phenomenal pad thai, and honestly, you get what you pay for in terms of portions. Had to take the remainder back with me!

Waitress was handling the whole restaurant *solo* and still managed to be perfectly amicable and professional. I'd have broken down, had I been in her place. Outstanding!

A lot of stairs, but worth the climb, as this place is a hidden gem. While they have a bar, they do not serve alcohol. Lovely decor and consistently nice food. Service is very friendly, relaxed and efficient. The beef pad thai is superb.

Great value for lunch deals, definitely recommend Tom Yum fried rice and the whole fish

This place is awesome! The staff are very nice and accomodating. Specially the young lady who is taking order and gaving food, very approachable.
