Great location amongst the tall trees and a few hundred metres from the Visitor Centre.
Older style toilets and showers, plus camp kitchen area with running water and power. There are both powered sites ($20) and unpowered sites($16) with water attached. If campground is full check out behind the nearby hotel or Left of Fields camping gardens.

Wonderful spot! Doesn’t allow for bookings but definitely worth trying to get a spot. Perfect base for the waterfall walks or driving up into the mountain for the longer alpine hikes. Facilities are quite excellent too. There are hot showers ($2 tokens), toilets, water, and a lovely camp kitchen with 2 gas barbecues and hot water sink for washing

We have been to Mount field campground twice on our visit to Tasmania and both times we enjoyed it. It’s a self check-in site, you fill out a form in the hut and put the money in an envelope. You will need a parks pass too, they come round and check your vehicles.
There are lots of sites, however we recommend you get there early to get a spot as it fills up quickly, especially the powered sites. The setting is beautiful, it was nice opening the blinds up in the morning and just seeing trees everywhere.
The amenities are clean and the showers are good, you need to go to the visitor centre and get tokens if you want a hot shower, they are $2 each which gives you 4 minutes. Just be careful in the showers if you put anything on the bench, my clothes got soaking wet from the spray which was annoying as it was freezing outside. However, it’s a lovely campground and would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the falls and enjoy all the walks around the area. We even saw a platypus which was exciting!

This campground had alot going for it. For a site with power, water and a sullage point it was probably the best value in Tassie. Couple that with being central to all the attractions and well run by volunteers it would probably take out the title of best national park camp rounds overall.

Great location to camp. Three waterfalls right at your doorstep. Note: shower tokens required for hot showers only available when visitors centre is open.

It was one of the best camping than we’ve been.
All the facilities were working without any problem, it was quiet and super close to the walk.
Be aware than is a small camping, so probably you have to go early to get a spot because it get full super fast

$8 per person in an unpowered spot

Nice and quiet during September. We parked our van in one of the many available lots. Great prices, the facilities were good for what we paid. Nothing fancy but not a long drop. Lots of wildlife around coming to say hello, including a cheeky possum that stalked us as we made dinner at the camp kitchen. He will steal your food!!!! Be careful 😂 walks nearby are beautiful, including the waterfall. Spent over 2 hours exploring. Will stay again!!

Fantastic spot for a night or two in the national park. The staff at the visitor center were very helpful and kind. Pricing for the camping site is reasonable at $16 for unpowered and $20 for powered sites - at the time of writing this.

Clean campsite with great access to the national park. 16 dollars per day for unpowered sites. Would recommend arriving by 10 AM on the busy season to secure a vacant site. The campsite managers are friendly and helpful.

Nothings beats the location of this camp ground. We reached around 4pm and were able to get the last powered site. The min charges are pretty reasonable and you can contribute more if you like. It’s a self registration on the site or you can register at the visitor centre. You can leave your registration slip at the site envelop and roam around without loosing the spot. Amenities are clean and well maintained. There is no dump point for chemical toilets but plenty nearby.

Easy to get to all walks in Mt Field national park and coffee just down the road at the information centre 👌

Very nice campground with clean amenities and hot showers for $20 (power site) or $16 (unpower site)per night. There is a shelter kitchen with bbq. A lot of wallabies around. Very quiet and well located to start a hike / walk.
No booking possible so arrive not too late to get a spot.

Great spot for a camp during winter. Bring warm gear during winter as fires are not permitted in the campground. Powered sites with water are $20 a night. Showers and toilets are available for no cost. Laundry 4 x 1 dollar coins needed for washing machine and dryer. There are plenty of walking trails off varying difficulty to do, if you're going to do the more challenging ones you need to check in with the visitor center and sign a log. It has been a fantastic spot to wind up our trip to Tasmania and look forward to staying here again.

Really lovely sites, spotless bathrooms with hot shower, and unbeatable walks. Camp kitchen has hot water sink and 2 clean bbqs. Native pademelons abound, and the river is scenic. You save your site by slipping the receipt in a pocket on the site number, so you can drive to trailheads and get back to keep the site without having to leave stuff lying about. Good if you're a van. $16/nt/2ppl.

Beautiful and value for money location! Self checkin ($16 for 2 people or $10 for one), very clean toilets and hot showers, outdoor camp kitchen and located next to the river. Russell and Horseshoe Falls are only a stonethrow away and worth hiking with headlights after sunset when the glowworms come out. Stunning rainforest hike with a lot of wildlife on the way. We saw dozens of possoms, paddy melons and some echidnas and loved it. mm mm

Very clean and great!
A lot wildlife around. We saw two wallabies when we wake up in the morning. Very cute! Shower room is very clean. Good for when you late to find a place to stay, because it's book by yourself. And price is 20$/2 people, $9 for extra one person.
