One of the most beautiful national parks we’ve ever been to! You can easily spend a few days here. For some locations you need a 4wd but there are others you can visit without. Don’t miss out! We even saw wild dingos!

Great holiday in Karijini NP. Gorges are amazing.
Long drive from Perth but definitively worst it. Lots of hikes in the gorges or to Mount Bruce top.
We would recommand to stay at the Eco retreat which is more close to the main gorges.

Everyone recommends Karijini and we now know why - wonderful scenery and gorges for walking and swimming.
We found a number of road closures (due to needed repairs) and these did impact our travel to some Gorges. Information centre staff are amazing and the centre itself is an excellent historical display.

One of the best national parks I’ve ever seen in my life! I loved walking down to the Kermit Pools. What an amazing little hike where you get to wade through some cold water. The stars at night were absolutely amazing!!! So beautiful! On the northwest side of the park is a beautiful swimming
hole and waterfall. I would highly recommend it’s called hammsly gorge

An absolute treat for the senses. From Fern Pool on the Eastern side to Hamersley Gorge on the West. There's camping available at Dale's or an utter glamping experience at the Eco Resort and with all the sights to take it, it's definitely worthwhile taking your time rather than cramming it all in to a day.

This is one of our favourite places in all of Australia - and we travel full time so that’s saying a lot! We came in winter (June) and there was an unusual cold snap so the wetsuits came in handy for some of the incredible swimming spots. Others we braved in our swimmers. We camped at Dales Overlfow which was also great. We did all the gorges and hikes and loved them. Kaylene at the visitor information centre gave us a full itinerary which we half followed and it was brilliant. She’s a wealth of knowledge. Don’t miss swimming in Kermit’s - that was awesome! And the hike getting there even better. Absolutely love this place! We will be back next year when it’s a bit warmer.

Great park with plenty of gorges to visit. Visitors centre had some gifts to choose from and had toilets and a paid shower if required. As we stayed at a free camp just outside the park with plenty of red dirt on offer the shower was great.

Great N.P in the heart of the Pilbara!
It’s pretty spread out.. so plan to have a week exploring!
Although hot this time of year there is some specular gorge walks. Surprisingly not as hot once your down in the gorge or swimming and no flies!
Loved our week exploring Karijini!

Such a beautiful place, absolutely cannot wait to visit again and do the hikes we missed out on the last time! If you’ve been thinking about going here, do it as soon as possible! One of my favourite places in WA 😍

Well worth seeing. The gorges are deep ravines cut into the desert over millions of years. You climb down from hot dry stoney lanscape to lush tropical forest pockets around cool blue pools.

A heaven on earth!!! It’s one of the best places I’ve seen since I arrived to Australia 2 years ago. For sure it’s a must in this country. Plenty of nature, beautiful hikes and the most spectacular gorges I’ve ever seen in my life. Have a try!!! Perfect plan for a family vacation or backpackers looking for new adventures.

Road trip all around Australia and Karijini National Park is definitely one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Breathtaking views. The water was absolutely freezing, the gorges were stunning and the hikes to get to them felt like such an adventure. Hancock and Weano gorge are definitely my favorites.
I stayed five amazing days. 4x4 vehicle highly recommended, otherwise you will end up driving 10km/h.

One of the most beautiful places in the world. It’s full of incredible gorges, waterfalls and swimming holes. The iron formation created the most stunning red colour. The best time of year to visit is Autumn to early spring to get the best weather. Highlights were Fern Pool, the spider walk in Hancock’s gorge, the spa pool in Hamersley Gorge and Mt Bruce.

Breath taking views, so beautiful, we stayed three amazing days, you definitely need more than that.
4x4 vehicle highly recommended, otherwise you will end up driving 10km/h for about 30kms roads.
I would love to revisit this place again but its really far from Perth :(

Absolutely stunning. Mother Nature puts on a spectacular display of vast varieties of colours within the gorges. Each gorge offers a different view, landscape, fauna & flora and crystal clear waters (seasonal). Even if the water is a tab cold, it doesn’t stop you venturing through the gorge.

Beautiful beautiful place. Really nice walks (much shorter then written in the signs). We were here in the end of the dry season, the falls were dry (what makes few of the pool reachable), but the pools was full. A must go.

Amazing 3 days camping at the Dale's. Perfect weather for swimming through the gorges. Two favourites, Hamersley Gorge and Knox!

Nice camp stay. GR8 staff, fantastic food, awesome atmosphere, most of the gorges were amazing. But the last three km in to the camp site we renamed the (horror gations) very rough.

Unbelievable place! I've done a lot of travelling to some incredible places, yet this is honestly now one of my favourite places in the world! I absolutely loved my time here. It was beautiful, picturesque, serene, and as my trip happened just as covid restrictions were coming in, one unbelievable break that made it possible to truly step out of the surrounding reality, and find appreciation in the surrounding nature. Stunning

Couple in their early 30s travelled to Karijini from Exmouth in a campervan. Stayed late May 2021.
Day 1: Drove to Dales Campground from Exmouth taking 7.5hrs. Refuel at Nanaturra and then again at Paraburdoo. We were told our campervan probably would not be able to manage the road via Tom Price as it's unsealed and challenging, therefore we went via Paraburdoo.
Dales Campground cost $22 per night for an unpowered site with drop toilets, no showers and no cooking facilities. We did drive 5mins away to use the BBQs at the Dales Picnic Area at times.
For all the Gorge walking and swimming we wore reef shoes (these are a must) and our bathers most of the time. No need to pack lunch unless you wanted to stay out for the whole day swimming. We came back up to the top to our van for lunch and just carried a snack and water with us. We also always had a compression bandage with us at all times as snakes and bites do happen at Karijini. Sunscreen and a hat is a must! As was a waterproof bag for our phone so we could take some photos!

Day 2: Dales Gorge round trip.
1. Circular Pool.
2. Fortescue Falls.
3. Fern Pool. 300m from the Falls is Fern Pool.
4. Back up the metal staircase to the Fortescue Falls Lookout.
We then drove to the Visitor Centre which is closer to Dales then the Eco Retreat.
We would have liked to do the Remtrek Astronomy tour with Phill this night, however he was still in Perth. Do give him a ring prior/text to check availability while you have reception- Optus only around all Karijini.
Slept at Dales this night.

Day 3: Hamersley Gorge
This Gorge takes a while to get to but we thought it was worth it! You will need more fuel so we had to travel out to Tom Price via the sealed road to fill up (or take a large jerry can with you).
We slept at Dales this night however, it's closer to stay at the Eco Retreat. In hindsight we would have stayed at the Eco Retreat for this night.

Day 4: All the other Gorges!!
We left early and drove to the Weano Gorge Picnic Area. Very corrugated drive. Worse than the drive to Hamersley. However quicker.

1: Oxer Lookout.
2: Weano Gorge Loop Walk
3: Hancock Gorge. The biggie and our favourite!
Handrail Pool was also closed that day due to recent rock falls.
Lunch at Weano Picnic Area.
4: Knox Gorge- the most challenging of all (in our opinion).
5: Joffre Gorge
Another Gorge in this area is Kalamina Gorge, however it is recommended to have a 4WD to get there so we passed on this one.
This night we stayed at the Eco Retreat Camping sites. Slightly more expensive than Dales at around $44 per night, however there are great facilities. Flushing toilets, hot showers and BBQs. The Restaurant with Information Centre is fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed at the quality of the restaurant. Most mains were around $40 however it was worth it. I had the kangaroo dish and my husband had the sirloin steak. The sides were great, garlic bread was a highlight too. 5 star food at great prices and in the middle of nowhere- incredible! Reservations are recommended well in advance. Well deserved and enjoyed after an active day!
For those not keen on the restaurant there's a takeaway burger bar as well with choice of 4 burgers at around $18 I think. Plenty of seating space outside to have drinks from the bar and a burger and play a boardgame from the Retreat's collection.
Day 5: Drive back to Exmouth via Paraburdoo. We just made it with fuel to Paraburdoo!!! Refueled at Paraburdoo and Nanutarra.

I hope this was helpful, wish I'd read something like this when we were planning our trip. Enjoy this once in a lifetime experience!!
