Karijini Visitor Centre

A wonderful centre with a wealth of information and local history. Our kids loved the junior rangers tour and activity book, learning about the traditional owners and caring for country.

The centre has a fantastic staff member, Kaylene, who took my kids through the centre and inducted them as junior rangers. Kaylene shared a wealth of knowledge about the national park and the local Aboriginal heritage. Her parting words for the kids were to emphasise respect, honour, love, gratitude, and always remember to get your feet dirty. Fantastic experience.

Staff are very helpful and are full of knowledge. The displays at the centre could do with a change and updating!

This place gives you alot of information about the gorges, the story behind them, the local people there, they even have video to tell everything that you want to know about Karijini. I enjoy the souvenirs shop also inside it.

Important note: there is phone service with Optus near the visitor centre, nothing with Telstra
The visitor centre is opened 9 am - 4 pm and offers flushing toilets + shower. Only one shower per side, it costs $4 + $20 deposit for the key. Shower is clean and warm 👍
There's also a small exhibition inside the main visitor centre that is worth seeing.

Must stop over when in Karijini. Take time to read through the history of the region, learn about this Jewel of the Pilbarra. For those like me who generally carry only the basics when camping, grab yourself an ice cream, make the most of the aircon and the toilets! ;p

Probably the best vistor centre I've ever been to.

The architecture is stunning both inside and out and the history/information it provides is extensive and interesting.

The workers we met were helpful and insightful into locations to visit. They were also super friendly.

The souvenirs are decently priced as well (and I would recommend buying a hat with a net! It is not only a great souvenir but was something we could not have lived without!).

Thank you to the staff of the vistors centre and we can't wait to come back to Karajini soon!

Kaylene is the best! If you have kids come and get involved with the Jounior Ranger activities. Best National Park experience we have had in all of Aus as we do our Lap of the Map!

Learn about the flora and fauna of Karajini. It's the only place where you get Telstra coverage and there's a lovely selection of ice creams. Hot showers are available at $4.

Very well set visitors centre, provides knowledge from culture to geology and zoology. kind like a mini museum. Also has hot shower, $4 each.

Really worth it, very pleasant visit

Very informative, interactive, educational visitors centre. The have showers that you can pay for if camping in the campground which is a bonus
