Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge

We stopped in for a late lunch with our kids and dog. Jules was our waitress and served behind the bar. She was extremely friendly, offered to keep the kitchen open later as we were late to arrive, and her service was exceptional. Although not staying as hotel guests, we found the experience so nice that we will return for a staying holiday. Facilities look great too!

Mercury KI is a rustic hotel set in a beautiful location overlooking the American River. The room was clean and simple with all the needed amenities including a very comfortable bed.
The restaurant was amazing with delicious food and quick service.

So loved this Lodge and where it was located. I can't comment on the price because our friends from overseas took us for a holiday! They however travel a lot and know how to hunt down a good price! The room was great, the bed very comfortable and the views amazing. Would definitely go again. ❤

I recently had a fantastic stay at Kangaroo Island, and I can't say enough good things about it! From the moment I arrived, James, the manager, went above and beyond to accommodate my last-minute changes. The staff at the help desk were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to fulfill my requests. Their warm and welcoming attitude made me feel right at home.

The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. My room was incredibly spacious, and the bed was so comfortable that I had the best night's sleep. It was a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring.

One evening, I had the pleasure of dining at the bay, and let me tell you, the fish and chips dish was out of this world! The portion size was generous, and the taste was simply delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a welcome drink and biscuits. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially since I was feeling a bit hungry. It's those little touches that make a big difference in creating a memorable experience.

Overall, my stay at Kangaroo Island was beyond my expectations. The exceptional service, the stunning ambiance, and the delightful dining experience made it a truly remarkable trip. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway

Had a very relaxing stay, excellent staff, who were very helpful, nice comfortable room, good pool, excellent restaurant and bar area

Came here to have their Sunday lunch menu, as I think it's different each week.
On offer were, Beef cheeks with broccoli, patatoe gratin, a nice size plate of fish and chips, then the last a Lamb curry with rice. All meals were $35 and came with wine or a beer.
OMG, I've heard,, if you cook a beef cheek right, it's as tender as, well, it sure was. It came with a red wine jue, which I could of had just a little more lol.. The size of the fish n chips was good, and the curry smelt soooo good... They had the fire going, newly renovated, looking quite smart.
Will be back again..

Nice and quiet hotel in American River. The hotel is fairly secluded and there are not many amenities nearby, so plan ahead. The restaurant is quite nice, be sure to make a booking even if it doesn’t look crowded. We also appreciated the bottle of wine in our room.

I booked Pool view nice corner view can see the river and pool area,although pool area was not available this weekend,close to the beach

We were very happy with our room. Not the most modern but for kangaroo island quite comfy.

We did a walk at night and saw lots of nightlife, as we found a hotel flyer with a recommended route by coincidence. They should tell you about that during check in.

Best service!! The food was perfect!! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our bed ..very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay, look forward t returning!!

Checked in after 7.30pm reception close. Easy lock box key pick up. Nice view. Left following morning not talking or seeing any hotel staff. The age of no contact DIY experience.

Outstanding service, very comfortable and clean rooms and the restaurant for dinner was amazing!! Would definitely stay here again.

The staff were so accommodating. Kevin from the maintenance team even helped us change our flat tyre and gave us a tip on where we could see more seals!!

The restaurant really exceeded our expectations. Definitely go for happy hour before dinner. They even had a great range of gluten free and vegetarian options. There would be a great view from the restaurant over the pool in daylight savings too.

Good location on river front. Room was very comfortable. Food was excellent. Besides the main courses and desserts being delicious, they were creatively presented and looked really attractive. Breakfast was a buffet and ample. Staff friendly and helpful. Was here for 3 nights in May 2021.

Beautiful hotel right on the Pelican bat. We saw so many Black Swans, Glossy Black Cockatoos, and other birds on the water and in the trees.
Restaurant was not as good for the price.

Popped in for a drink in the delightful garden overlooking the pool. Wonderful service

This was such a beautiful peaceful place to stay. The staff were lovely and welcoming. We even had a complimentary bottle of Penfolds and home made cookies as a welcome. We would love to go back and spend more time. Pelican feeding with Uki in the morning was just wonderful.

The Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge is sensational. The outlook over the American River is beautiful, with surroundings peaceful and tranquil. The team under Ian’s leadership, are warm, friendly and professional. The evening dinners are the standout. The food, taste, presentation and quality are truly remarkable. My family absolutely loved holiday here. It has been a wonderful experience.

I'm spending 4 days in Kangaroo Island, taking people on a tour.
This is an excellent place to stay and relax. It's so peaceful here.
It's quiet.
The food is amazing. The bar has a substantial assortment of beverages.
The rooms cosy.
It's not far, from anywhere, to see the sights here.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
We just look out over the ocean. What a view.
I highly recommend staying here, you won't regret it.

Today we had the privilege of having Christmas lunch here.

Upon arrival we were greeted and seated by lovely staff. The atmosphere was pleasant and the smells wafting from the kitchen were amazing.

We were served canapas on arrival and lunch and dessert soon followed. The selection and choices of seafood, salads and meats were beautifully presented. The desserts were a combination of traditional Christmas desserts with an Aussie icon the good ol Pavalova topped with fresh fruit.

Compliments to the entire kitchen staff. The meal was delicious.

This place was amazing, staff were beyond friendly and helpful. We arrived after a big day of sightseeing, a table was already booked for us for dinner, room service breakfast was organised and our room was toasty and warm waiting for us. Dinner: what can I say. the food was AMAZING, a great selection of local wines and friendly efficient staff. We will be back
