They may just be the loveliest people in Australia. I loved everything about the place - reading by the fire, talking about farming with Graham, and getting the "inside scoop" about Kangaroo Island from Lyn. The only thing I didn't love was the five pounds (2 kg) that I gained from eating the most amazing food I have had anywhere, and I have traveled all over the world. Kangaroo Island is a gem, and if you visit, stay with Lyn and Graham.

Truly an outstanding place. Our hosts, Lyn and Graham were exceptional. Lyn provided gourmet meals that would rival any 5 star dining establishment. Her attention to detail in the preparation, quality and presentation of dishes was second to none. Graham provided a wonderful history of the homestead and as an added bonus took us on an after dinner tour of their property. We were able to see all the indigenous wildlife on Kangaroo Island. I strongly recommend a visit to the Straraer Homestead. Bring a hearty appetite and a curious mind. Thanks again to Lyn and Graham for an unforgettable experience . JC & Joanne.

The Wheaton Family is amazing, thoughtful and interesting. The renovated home is gorgeous, and the food best in the world.

Se andate a Kangaroo Island non perdete l'occasione di trascorrere alcuni giorni a Strander Homestay. E' un cottage in legno nella splendida campagna di Kangaroo Island gestito da una coppia incantevole nativa di Kangaroo.
Lynn é la migliore cuoca di Kangaroo e non solo. Non rifiutate la loro proposta di andare a vedere gli animali di notte. E' davvero un'esperienza.
Ci sarebbe piaciuto trascorrere una settimana invece che solo una notte.
Ho anche ricevuto da Graham un fantastico libro sulla storia dell'isola dei canguri, che aiuterà a portare per sempre nel mio cuore questa fantastica isola.
