Stayed one night, restaurant meals were great, service was great. Room was very nice and comfortable, bonus door to balcony which was very nice to sit and relax. Only issue, was shower. Need a sign about when hot water gets turned on, as was cold until about 6.30am, over all a great place to stay☆☆☆☆☆

Family of 4 stayed in the family room for just a quick overnight stop. Dylan went out of his way to accommodate our late arrival. Room was very spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. Shared bathrooms - separate facilities for men and women - were clean and well enough appointed with plenty of hot water. Added bonus was a small kitchen with basic breakfast supplies provided.
Would definitely recommend if staying in the area or just passing through like we were.

Great place to spend a night or two. Pet friendly rooms available, the staff are friendly, and the rooms (while pub room sized) are clean and recently redecorated.

Highly rated.

We stayed here and camped in the carpark and had dinner in the dining room. The staff were fantastic and the meals were really tasty. Loved the banter between Dylan and our group staying there. An all round great experience!

I've been to Sea Lake quite a few times for photography, but this is my first time staying at the Royal Hotel. I was really happy with my stay. The room was great, cool with AC and a fan, TV and power outlets. Bathroom facilities are shared, but that's part of the experience staying at an old country hotel. They were spotless and well appointed. There is a kitchen for guests with hotplate, microwave, fridge, cutlery, plates and drink ware. Cornflakes and toast for available for breakfast. The location is great, very close to the lake and right in the heart of town. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I ate at the Juke, which serves a variety of really good quality pub meals. I did stay on New Years Eve, so the pub was open much later than usual, and was a bit noisier than usual. But I didn't get to bed until midnight, and it was New Year's Eve, so to be expected!! The night before was peaceful and quiet :)

Great local community owned pub in a small Victorian mallee town near the beautiful lake Tyrell salt lake. We stayed on a Monday night when the restaurant was clapped but the smell of pizza being cooked behind the bar was wonderful. Friendly, clean and quiet. With kitchen for guests to use and a great balcony to sit on. The hallway light stays on all night and a bit shines through the crack on the door. I’d suggest the lighting should be turned down or off at night because I like it to be dark. Maybe a night light is all that’s necessary. I’ll definitely go back. Thanks Royal Hotel staff for our stay.

Only stayed 1 night ... stupid me - this place was great from the 5pm happy hour drinks. to the great food, great service, super nice rooms, music, all great except for the cracking hangover, could have been perfect otherwise... see you again soon!

Had lunch here. Best Chicken Schnitzel and Parmie we’ve had for a long time. Fantastic service friendly staff and a happy chef singing away. Definitely worth coming for a feed

Bliss.
This place is absolutely amazing. My only regret is that I only stayed one night and didn't get to try the food.
I arrived into town late and the staff were worried about me and gave me a call while I was still on the road when was just so kind!
As per practically all of the older style hotels the toilet, shower, and kitchen areas are communal. I don't have an issue with this and they were spotlessly clean and the shower was awesome.
The rooms themselves are superb. Clean, stylish, simple. The sheets are luxury!! There is a good supply of plugs and I was able to sit at the desk and download from my camera in comfort. There was no road or other noise that I was aware of other than the occasional squeaky floorboard which is par for the course with the brilliant aged gems.
The owners have done an excellent job refurbishing this classic hotel- is very slick and well done.
The staff are friendly and helpful as can be. Access is easy. Off-street parking is plentiful. And the whole town is on the front doorstep.
Loved it!

We dropped by during the week with our rooftop tent, staff was super helpful, with information about sunset and sunrise viewing areas at nearby lake Tyrell. The camping lot in the back is very convenient, quiet, flat.
Food at the Juke was delicious: the pumpkin salad was refreshing and very well prepared.
A must visit in the area!

The hotel is walkable from the Silo Art of Sea Lake town and very close to the beautiful Lake Tyrrell. Well maintained rooms and clean common toilets. Towels and toiletries were provided in the room. Although the restaurant was closed due to the public holiday, the bar downstairs was serving pizzas and nachos till late night.

VERY accomodating and friendly staff. After needing to make an emergency after hours booking due to other failed accommodation, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. The rooms are very neat clean and comfortable. Being a grand older hotel the showers and toilets are down the hall but are very modern and roomy. I especially loved the chilled chain suspended chairs on the balcony which gives a fantastic view of the town.
Highly recommended and will definitely stay again!

Omg! So glad we stopped here.

We are staying in the family room air bnb upstairs. Beautiful clean room. Shared bathroom but renovated and lovely. Excellent water pressure.

Just had dinner at the restaurant downstairs.

We ordered cheesy garlic bread to share (4 pieces), the risotto, chicken schnitzel, kids parmi and kids nuggets. Came to $108.

Seriously happy to pay for amazing food and service.

Wait staff were attentive and helpful. Had a great chat :) and the food was delicious and hot 🔥

So so worth it.

Thank you Royal Hotel ❤

Sorry no pictures, food was so good it was eaten quickly.

Great pub meal provided by The Juke Restaurant. Excellent, quick service. Steak was cooked to perfection and the Chicken schnitzel had a nice crunchy coating. Thanks guys - delicious and well worth stopping in Sea Lake.

A local pub “watering hole”in Sea Lake.
The “Happy hour” sign which I noticed after getting a full priced beer disappointingly had not placed anywhere near the bar or outside which may have lead to my wife and I staying longer, more refreshments and possibly dinner. Also when I asked about complementary crisps was told briskly “haha we don’t do them here “
Cheers?

What a great community owned pub.
The co-located restaurant was brilliant.
Gorgeous decor retaining the the historical roots of the hotel yet at the same time with a clean and simple modern look.
The food was fantastic , local produce done well.
Standout was the crumbed lamb cutlets, three large cutlets not overcooked with a crisp crumb.
Equally good was a 300gm scotch fillet cooked as per request.
Friendly, reasonably priced, decent wines in an up and coming Victorian tourist destination.

Great location in the centre of town. Rooms are spacious and aircon is fantastic, meals are reliably good and the beer is cold. No faults found

Lots of places deserve 5 stars for their hard work and getting it right in the hospitality industry. This hotel from a dining experience was no exception getting an easy 5 star rating but needs further praise. The food order was taken by people who appeared to enjoy what they were doing, this started the dining experience off on the right foot. The young lady who brought the food and cleared away was also very pleasant. Her manner was very refreshing for someone so young and we complimented her and the kitchen when we'd finished. The teriyaki salmon was awesome and the warm vegetable salad fantastic. Not often would I eat a vegetarian meal, but this had flavour and substance in bundles. Great food and highly recommended 👏

Wow!
I stayed at ‘The Sea Lake Hotel’ for a solo adventure on New Year’s Eve - and my visit exceeded my expectations by far!
I am of an age that whilst both a kid and as a young adult - I often stayed in old hotels with very simple rooms and shared bathrooms - they were cheap to stay in and the hotels often had an ‘old world’ charm - beautiful staircases - and the like and even the bathrooms had an - (albeit pretty grubby showers and toilets at times) - charm.
The refurbished rooms at this beautiful old hotel are very reasonably priced, simple, stylish and spotless - with a fabulously comfy bed and some of the best pillows I have laid my head on. There is a flat screen tv - and space to move around in. There is a very clean shared kitchen with a large ‘fridge if you want to store your food - a toaster - cooking appliances - a kettle and the like with a table and chairs and crockery. The mixed gender bathrooms are totally fab - (the tiling is possibly ‘50’s if not from an earlier period) - the hand basins, showers and toilets are all very snazzy, clean and maintained. The bedrooms and amenities are all upstairs - and although the staircase is beautiful to behold - I personally found it very hard to negotiate. There are substantial balustrades to hang onto, but the stairs are steep - and you need to be very careful to not miss a step - as I did several times
I wanted to celebrate New Year’s Eve by sitting by the salt lakes as the sun went down - I had been very lucky to witness and absorb this glorious experience once before - and it remains one of my most treasured experiences of my sitting with and in nature.
Alas - I could not recall as to how to get to Lake Tyrrell and I got lost several times following Google Maps - (I could not remember the directions from my earlier visit - I simply could not get my bearings regardless of help from a couple of local blokes having a beer outside the hotel) -
and I missed the sun going down. The next day - upon asking another local - I found the Lake really easily - I very much suggest asking a local and not relying on an app which will take you kilometres in the wrong direction.
My apologies for digressing re: Lake Tyrrell - I forgot to mention ‘ The Juke’ - the restaurant at the hotel - the food is absolutely divine and very reasonably priced - with wonderful veggie/ vegan options available.
All the staff I came into contact with at the hotel were very warm and helpful - with Dylan who works in the restaurant a particular standout.
Three last things - Deb who also works at the hotel is fantastic - AND - the hotel is community owned - how cool is that!
And lastly - there are fantastic pizzas available at the bar.
This was my first experience of staying at the ‘The Sea Lake Hotel’ - I will definitely be back to stay!
