Christmas time 2023, the lake was kind of dry at that time, but was still quite pinky. Nice place

If you go into the water, the salt water will crystallise on your skin and feel like sandpaper.

A very majestic place to be, I've never imagined that a place like this is just 5 hours away from Melbourne.

Amazing spot for stargazing and watching the sun rise! Awesome for photography, would highly recommend taking a drone also.

Absolutely stunning views and great photo opportunities. We visited in the morning so it was very quiet and we pretty much had the area to ourselves. It was very dry when we visited but stunning nonetheless. Lots of photo opportunities and a brilliant deck to walk out on. A few information boards and several car parks, depending on how far you travel towards the observation deck along unsealed roads. Definitely worth visiting!

Beautiful scenery and since upgraded with the deck, the chance to walk and post some pictures. Worth the drive and enjoy the calm water and landmark.

The sunset is awesome. Will visit again for the night sky view.

FYI, if you are travelling via A79 Calder Highway, there is a route to reach the lake, which is not updated on the map yet, it's after the sea lake cemetery and before Ninda.

There are a few canola farms on the way, so stop by to take some awesome pics.

Pink salt, beautiful sunset and stargazing site

A wonderful place that is getting more common with tourists, the place gets better after a bit of rain, and a bit of clouds in the skies where you have a reflection on the water of the sky. Best time to go during sun set. Driving to the area may be tricky as the gps may not point you to the right entrance, but the trip is worth it

This place is AMAZING.
You can spend days there and it will be a different view every-time.
I plan on going back and spending more time there.

Very beautiful scenery. The color and condition can changed drastically in relatively short period of time so luck is needed for a good view. The sky was surprisingly bright which is quite different to the impression gotten from internet. But still definitely worth a visit.

Gorgeous! Awesome for Sunrise and midnight

Comparing with 3 years ago there are lots of improvements in place. Road, car park, walk track, landscaping, sky lounge and The point. I have a very special experience and I think photographers will love it.

A beautiful lake located in rural VIC. This lake has crystalized salt. It’s worth seeing even though the drive is a little tiring. The location isn’t too far from the main road. The place is full of flies. So I recommend wearing a mask, sunglasses, hat, and long attire covering hands and legs. The sun is too hot during the summer.

There is nothing to look at if you are just driving by. The photographers love this spot for sunrise and sunset for the water reflection photos! Bring your gumboots to enhance your experience!

Lake Tyrrell is located just north of the town of Sea lake in the heart of Mallee region of Victoria. It’s the largest salt lake in Victoria with pink colour varying depending on the weather. Since the recent upgrade of viewing platform, Sky lounge it’s even more impressive now. Definitely worth a visit if you are around the area.

A piece of heaven.

I think timing is a key when you visit Lake Tyrrell. I reached this place midday and spent time by the lake until like 10pm and then came back the next day around at 6am and could not believe it was the same place.

Unfortunately, I missed out on the private guided tour where they take you around some of the most photogenic spots and I have heard this is something you shouldn’t miss.
