Ginger & Chives

First time having banh xeo (Vietnamese pancakes) & feel in love with it! It was as delicious as what other people said on Google. The pho was a bit on the smaller side. We also ordered Mi Ga Don (Vietnamese chicken noodle soup) but we found it to be a bit boring.

Our friends ordered bun bo hue （Spicy Vietnamese Beef & Pork Noodle) as she was craving for something spicy. They also had Bo Kho which was slow cooked Vietnamese beef & carrot stew served with banh mi, he said it felt very home-made & hearty.

Overall it was nice trying new dishes with a Vietnamese friend as we always ordered pho.

Great food, amazing and welcoming service with a hint of banter. Great recommendations from the waiter (which we still had to pay for - Will be back for the fritters though). Definitely felt like lifted and modern Vietnamese home style cooking!

Exceptional food. I am a big fan of Vietnamese food and these guys have it nailed. The Hà Nội spring rolls are the best outside of Asia. Thank you!

This place is our regular, and we take our friends and family there too. Food is always fabulous with loads of options for those with dietary requirements (gluten free or vegan). Mickey is great with kids and service is top notch.

Favourite place to get pho! Healthy and tasty. Also love the meals, loved the pork belly last time we came 🤤 nice atmosphere with warm lighting, great music (at a good level so can still have conversation) and friendly staff.

Have been coming here for mothers day for the past few years and every time is better than the last. Mickie is always generous and kind, has the best banter and knows how to make sure you have an incredible experience! We get the choose for us and have never been disappointed

Vietnamese food is exceptional, price is affordable. Enjoyed their vietnamese coffee and desserts! Love how the guy serves and tells my kid how she should have her Mi Ga Don menu its an egg noodle accompanied with crispy chicken. The place is neat and tidy! Pineapple banana fritter with ice cream so delectable!

Great place to get your Vietnamese fix. I came here for lunch and was not disappointed. The server was very helpful and the food arrived quickly, and most importantly was delicious. As well as a broken rice style dish I had the prawn spring rolls and a Vietnamese iced coffee. I'll be back soon to try some of their other options.

My friend & I stumbled across this place while strolling down high st & boy am I glad we did because this place is special!

Honestly, I’ve never had Vietnamese food like this. First thing I noticed was how the place feels minimal yet cozy. The cutlery & menu were very clean, nice lighting, pleasant music (not too loud), & staff were friendly. Good portion sizes & the wine on menu was deliciously paired with the meal. Staff inspired me to try growing Vietnamese basil again! Had a wonderful time. I’ll be back!

Best Pho!

I ordered a delicious chicken pho and was able to ask for extra vegetables with it as well. It tasted amazing and was just the right sized portion. Perfect for a quick lunch!

Great atmosphere, Perfect customer service and friendly people. It was a great afternoon finished by Vietnamese coffee and dessert. We Will definitely come back.

Best pho in town, forgot to take any pics was too busy eating - delicious. I ordered the prawn spring rolls and veggie pho perfect for a winters day. Service friendly and warm too, will be back.

One of our favourite places with consistently delicious food and friendly service. We are regulars for lunch or dinner and love the Pho, Bun and Com Suon (Pork Chop) but a must try dish is the Hanoi Spring Rolls (fried rice paper) which are hard to find.

I have been to many vietnamese restaurants around Melbourne and especially in Northcote, but Ginger & Chives definitely stands out. I liked the funky interior decor, friendly staff, efficient service, and spotless clean cutlery. Most of all, I found the ingredients they used to be very fresh and the dishes had a home cooked feel. I was also provided with a variety of vietnamese condiments which I loved. Highly recommended.

I’m a regular and I can say they do the best Pho in Melbourne, also the sizzling dishes and noodle dishes are amazing. The best!

Really pleasantly surprised at the flavours! Got the bo khor and banh xeo. Tender and plentiful chunks of stewed beef. Reminded me of Derrick's mum's stew.
Banh xeo - done just right, plenty of filing with pork and prawns, plenty of salad on an the side to wrap it all in. Crispy batter where it matters.
Prices are very reasonable, especially for the area.
Will be taking my parents here.

On a cold Melbourne Friday night, l was greeted warmly by the staff and with a big bowl of Pho..felt like l was at home..great taste, service and definitely will be coming back again..thanks guys..x

Another lovely and very delicious lunch. Welcomed as we walked in and had our drinks and condiments on our table within a couple of minutes. Today I had the Bun Bo Hue, spicy thick vermicelli noodles served in a hearty beef, pork and lemongrass broth with sliced beef and pork. Delicious.

We had the pho and various entrees and we can easily say this is the best pho we’ve tried in New Zealand and Australia! High quality food and lovely staff who provide top notch service. We’ll be back :—)
