ORDERED:
🍳 Turkish eggs: za'atar, labneh, fermented chilli butter, poached eggs, spinach & ricotta borek, bonito flakes ($25.00)
🥚 Gypsy Eggs: chorizo potato fry up, fermented pepper romesco, peas, poached eggs, manchego, ciabatta bread ($24.00)
🍟 Thick cut chips, sichuan chicken salt, chipotle aioli ($10.00)
☕ Tiramisu latte: lady finger biscuit, mascarpone, cream, double espresso ($10.00)

I spent $43.55 here on my portion! Our food was split between two.

REVIEW:
💘 I loved the food. Brunch with middle eastern and asian influence?! Sign me up for this epic deliciousness.
Both eggs based dishes were jam packed full of flavour, with the Gypsy eggs more savoury over the Turkish eggs. The carbs on the side (ciabatta bread, borek) were wonderfully chosen and accompanied the eggs well. 🌼
The chippies were fabulous too, a thick cut with an incredible sichuan chicken salt that was addictive. They were generous with their seasoning, that it almost guilt tripped me to have a salad for dinner. 😋

❌ I wasn't a fan of the Tiramisu latte. It read like it had lots of potential, but delivery came off too bitter with its double espresso. Was definitely hoping for a sweeter drink, and the cream could only do so much!

☀ The interior is brightly lit, exposed brick and bright wooden decor to keep things casual. It's a very pretty lunch spot that's perfect for catching up with friends. Especially when you can swap dishes so you can try more food!! 😆

Sani hosted my 30th birthday and did such an amazing job! The food, drinks and service was just perfect and everything ran smoothly. My guests all had a great time and raved about the venue. Thank you so so much Anna, Sam and the whole Sani team for making the night so special.

Came in today for brunch for a group of 3. Tried to book online but it was fully booked so we decided to wing it and walk in, hoping we'll get a table (and we did!)

We were given a table outside initially as it was full but the floor manager was so lovely - she said she'll move us in once they have a table ready and we were in there within 15 mins. :)

The food - sensational!
Turkish eggs with labneh and a side of borek spiced with zaatar was honestly, the best brunch food I've had in years! I'm so glad they chose they borek as a side, rather than just bread because the textures, the flavours blended so well - I wanted to finish every morsel of it!

We had the Japanese eggs - which was okay. It was still delicious but the flavour combo of the latter was underwhelming when compared to the former.

We also had the Jammy Eggs - love this one! Similar to the turkish eggs, the combination of the chipotle burnt butter, whipped feta and jammy eggs was heaven in my mouth. We were given buttered ciabatta to have it with but honestly, I feel like focaccia or turkish bread would've been amazing to mop up the eggs amd sauce together.

Dalgona Latte - perfect for a sunny day!
In all, we had such an enjoyable experience - I'd come back again and again just for those Turkish eggs! x

Sani is one of the best cafes we’ve visited this year. With its chic and cozy interior, we found Sani to be one of those spaces we wouldn’t mind living in. As for the food, the menu is one that travels the world, offering everything from Szechuan Congee to Moroccan Zaalouk.

On our visit, we fell in love with the Turkish Eggs, flavoured with zaatar, fermented butter, herbs, and comes to the table with a flakey borek. The Eggs Benedict likewise does something we’ve never seen before: use a chicken leek pie as the base. While the portions aren’t massive, they’re still satisfying to eat and way more filling than you’d expect. Here’s everything we tried:

🥙 Turkish Eggs 🌟
🥧 Egg Benedict🌟
🍄 Gnocchi
🐙 Octopus Carpaccio🌟
🍟 Fried w/ Sichuan Chicken Salt

Expensive breakfast but worth it! Food was very nice, coffee and service was good and the venue itself has a very nice ambience. Would happily return to try the rest of the menu

One of the great coffee and brunch places of the area, great atmosphere and the staff is always friendly.
The food is great, often changes and never been disappointed.
The coffee is usually very nice and has a great after taste.
What I enjoy most is their pastries, the lemon curd almond croissant is a must try.

My favourite cafe, toasted sandwiches and soy chi latte!!!! Its one place l like to eat in rather than get a quick takeaway because of its super sophisticated and clean restaurant. Its large and comfortable, and getting the WIFI password is never a drama 👍🤍👌

Friendly staffs and creative menus. It’s a tad too crowded but we enjoy the food options here, not your usual brunch place for sure and they do deliver!

Honestly, was really impressed with my first look at this place. I'm generally coffee oriented, but Sani looks like somewhere that would interest me for food too.

It's a gorgeous cafe, lovely interior, clean and well lit with a little lounge area for lazy coffee drinkers like me and a more formal coffee side where you might meet your friends for a brunch or something. Plenty of seats outside too.

Barista Nan was on the machine, the coffees were great, I had a Rwandan pourover and the house blend. The Coffee is from Locale. Everything was delicious and the service was awesome. I will be back.

If you like your coffee, this place has house blends, single origins and a small frozen coffee menu. There's retail for sale and some merchandise and stuff too. Ask for the reserve menu.

One of the best lunches I’ve had in Brunswick.

Service was friendly and it’s a nice space.

Gnocchi with beef shin ragu was a hit. Real good comfort food dish - pan frying the gnocchi turned out a treat, breadcrumbs were a great touch and beef was tender and well incorporated with the rest of the dish. Only criticism is the sauce was a bit heavy on the oil. Maybe pair with some bread to mop it up.

Lamb Tagine was also very good.

Rest of the menu looks solid also - will be back for sure.

🇹🇷 turkish eggs
🍳 ful medames
🥒 smashed cucumber salad

🏠: @sanimelbourne
📍: Brunswick East

📝: Visited the second venue by the team who brought us West Footscray’s favourite Dumbo Cafe, Sani, located in the former Woodstock Pizza site in Brunswick East.

❤: Food here was delicious! Quite far to get to for me, but absolutely worth it. The 🇹🇷 Turkish Eggs were delicious—za'atar labneh, 🌶 fermented chilli butter, 🍳 poached eggs, served with 🥬🧀 spinach & ricotta borek, and soft herbs. Probably my favorite dish. Can’t wait to come back to try the rest of the menu 😍.

Wow! Amazing food. Highly recommend xo folded and turkish eggs, also sago pudding. Menu is imaginative and food quality and prep a cut above most of the rest.

And if you're a coffee snob, you won't be disappointed.

Invited to try the dinner menu with a small group, I got to try a variety of tasty dishes. The restaurant has a classy open space feel as you walk in and there is a small section that has a completely different ambience with exposed bricks and warmer colour tones. Dishes are tapas, sharing style serves and everything we tried were flavoursome and delicious. The braised beef and pork belly were standing out dishes as they were so tender and tasty. You won't go wrong with any dishes you select from the menu.

Sani by night

What we had:
🔥 Burrata- herb and chilli burrata with crispy capers, cultured butter and ciabatta
🐙 Octopus- Fremantle octopus, nduja, white anchovy, pickled onion and tapioca
💖 Potato gnocchi with house chorizo, shallots, prawns and grana padano
🐟 Flounder cooked whole with fermented chilli butter, capers, parsley and chives
🌸 Thick Cut Chips with gremolata and chilli sambal aioli
🍸 Prahan Cocktail ft tequila, Cointreau, lime, lemon, agave, cucumber, chilli and black salt

My gosh everything was phenomenal- we were blown away! We literally have no negatives and cannot believe that the restaurant did not have more people in it!! I highly recommend checking out this gorgeous place for a beautiful night out!

Edit - I ❤ Sani. Such a lovely place. I got the Turkish eggs myself this time as my partner raved about them. Popular for a reason, the Borek was divine and such a beautifully made dish. Amazing. Menu was updated seasonally when we came back and also grabbed the Japanese eggs. LUSCIOUS. Such a fresh take on a brunch dish, soft fluffy eggs, rice, spam NOMNOM. Keep up the amazing work guys. I will be back time and time again 🥳

LOVED IT! Sani has such a beautifully diverse menu. My partner and I had a lovely brunch and loved our fish burger and Turkish eggs. Turkish eggs came with Burek which was a fantastic spin on the typical brekkie. Flavours were spot on. Decor was fresh and vibrant. Staff were lovely and super helpful. Thanks guys, can't wait to come back!
